Great 3 course dinner for 2 in a nice atmosphere . Charcuterie Followed by a prepared  steak and a very well cooked whole plaice. Very reasonable price for such good food and friendly service. We will be back

Book & Go... Brilliant Food, Good Specials, Nice Atmosphere 

A midweek visit to the Blacksmith a very warm welcome very friendly staff. Our decision to eat outside was a mistake as it had turned very cold, the staff were great and found us a table by the fire! Great food and a great vibe we will definitely be back.

Evening meal 

We stumbled upon the Blacksmiths Arms on a cold January Saturday lunchtime after we were diverted following a road closure. This dog friendly pub was warm, welcoming and very comfortable. The menu had lots of choice including vegitarian options as did the specials blackboard. I chose to have the Blacksmiths Faggots from the specials and was not at all dissapointed, this was one of the best meals I have had in a long time. My wife had the cod cheek scampi and she was very complimentary of this specials dish too. My daughter and her partner had the fish and chips from the regular menu and they really enjoyed their meals too. All in all a very nice experience with good attentive service by the nicely presented staff. Nice roaring log fire too! Thankyou we will definitely return again.

Mid Winter Saturday Lunch

I went to The Blacksmiths with friends for an informal pub supper and that's exactly what we got.  The pub has aspirations I think as the decor is trying to be something it's not (shabby kitchen chic that doesn't quite come off) but it is what it claims to be so I can't hold that against them.  It was very busy as our visit was a few weeks before Christmas, and the bar was full which is always a good sign and as we left there was a punter waiting to take our parking space so it's obviously a popular destination.  I had a burger which was very good, obviously handmade with the one downside being that the chips were over salted - but a small thing and they were delicious once dusted off.  The staff were extremely friendly and efficient, knowledgeable about the menu and there were plenty of soft drinks for the drivers amongst us - apart from the usual orange juice and Coke.  The ambience was lovely and I can see this being a beautiful place in the summer.  One of my friends reported that the lavatories were spotless so that's that covered too!  All-in-all I would recommend this place to anyone who is after well-priced, homemade pub grub in a pleasant atmosphere.

Good but not Great

I cannot say anything about the food and drinks, cause we have not been served.
Entered the restaurant, said "Hello" to the staff and took a seat in the nice garden. 3 different staff members crossed our table, picked up orders and cleaned tables.
4 other guests have had opened their menu cards already, when we arrived and have not been talked to all the 19 minutes we have been waiting.
The service crew looked very busy, but not organized...

We waited for 19 minutes and left

First visited the Blacksmiths a few days after opening,  loved it then, had a nice viewing of their stunning bedrooms by the owner and his wife..well I came back a few days ago as was in the area visiting my aunt and it has not changed..a larger developed outdoor space and perhaps a few more seats in the restaurant..but the staff just as welcoming and the interior design still stylish.
My aunt had the rose infused salmon to start me the whitebait off the menu du jour...then fish for her and a most wonderful healthy salad with cauliflower/beetroot fresh herbs beans and a few flowers for me ( I'm not vegetarian but trying to look after the figure a bit in my old age )..it looked stunning and tasted great ( might be nice to serve a little spicy olive oil dressing on the side ) but it was superb without...sticky date pudding for her and a strong expresso for me...a good pint or 2 and a large glass of Prosecco made for a super dinner, what a nice evening.
Love The Blacksmiths,  like the atmosphere and so happy that it has gone from strength to strength over the past few years.   
Owners....do try and calm the kids being able to run in and out of the restaurant from the garden...a little annoying when your trying to catch up your family news.
