I have eaten here many times and it has always been fantastic. We even held my father’s wake here as we felt the service was great…however after visiting last Sunday I was extremely disappointed. We were taken to our table and literally left there. Other tables were being asked for drinks orders even though they had been seated after us! After waiting for twenty minutes we decided to leave as we had other arrangements and couldn’t wait. Really disappointed as this was my favourite place for food. Sad to say we won’t be back.

Awful

We came here today for a family Christmas meal. All staff were very friendly and welcoming. The food was utterly delicious, and very reasonably priced too. The pub is very clean, bright and spacious. We will definitely be back again, thank you!

Gorgeous food and lovely, happy staff. 

Very good evening meal with good service. Pity that only one real ale was available and that was 4.5%ABV which is too strong for drivers. I can’t understand why so many pubs don’t have at least one draught session ale available for drivers who like a pint with their meal. That said the pint that I had was in excellent condition. We shared an excellent tapas starter and my rump steak was very good, considerably better than the one that I had when I last visited the Squire “Steakhouse” in Chipping Sodbury - the latter’s rump steak was tough and overcooked! My wife’s Sea Bass was excellent. Our main waitress was very good and in spite of a busy evening was very helpful and responsive.  The young waiter and waitress were OK but need to learn more about customer care. For example the waiter tended to just dump the drinks on the table including a jug of water we didn’t order and leave rather than serve each of us with our drink! The young waitress was very responsive and attentive but should ensure that if the customer asks for some mustard, it is delivered!  That said we enjoyed our meal and will return again as we live locally in the hope that I will be able to drink a session real ale next time.

Very good food but lacks at least one session real ale

Food was delicious and great gluten free, veggie and vegan options. Best roast dinner I’ve had out ever. Highly recommend for a family or couple meal out. The pub is such a lovely atmosphere and the staff are really friendly.

Great options for allergies and delicious food

The bell accommodated about 20 of us for my baby shower and couldn’t fault them. The roast dinner is lovely here. They brought out more veg and gravy on request without any hesitation. Staff were attentive and service was efficient. Little pricey for food but I think it’s worth it in my opinion as the food is great. Will definitely return

Nice place

Best pub Sunday lunch I've had for a very long time. Great pint of beer. Staff very friendly and attentive. very pleasant and comfortable surroundings. Would highly recommend, so much so that I have already booked for a further visit.

Cracking Sunday Lunch

Our first thought was that it was a very cold day, November 2021, we arrived at our pre booked slot and were shown to a table next to a radiator, bliss, till we realised radiator was shut off or not working, freezing cold. Kept coats on and studied menu, decided that we would have bottle of wine rather than glasses (only 2 of us drinking but no problem!!!) as menu stated that you got 20% discount if you bought wine by bottle. When wine came we were told that the reduction on the menu was misprint and it only applied to special wines that were only sold by the bottle and not the glass ( we could have had a glass of ours). Waitress then told us that we could change the wine ordered to one of these as she hadn't opened our bottle! We took her advice as it worked out that a more expensive wine actually was cheaper.
Meal was fine but spoilt by slight altercation about wine and coldness of room. Appreciate trying to reduce heating cost but don't expect to have to keep coat on when paying to eat a meal.
Meals were fine except served on cold plates, fish and chips etc. When we queried this we were told that if there is any salad on plate (I think that there was lettuce leaf and half a tomato on each plate although we had ordered 4 different meals) then it would be served on cold plate. Offered to heat plate for one of us but person wanted to eat with rest so told him not to bother.
In all, okay but not the best experience.

It was ok

Went to the Bell for breakfast which was decent but not a fan of places that just stick a service charge on your bill..especially a pub! Gratuities should be at the the customers discretion as this saves their embarrassment at having to ask for it to be be removed..(but of course these places know that!)...in all fairness the service was ok in that they brought the food to the table!.  

Ok but watch the service charges!

The Bell Big Breakfast, I'll be back soon, amazing, great service, great coffee, must be best local breakfast, very big sausages, loads of bacon, 2 x crispy hash browns, big mushroom, hot beans and toast 

Great Breakfast

Had heard the food was good so went for lunch today with the family. Most meals were nice enough, but my husband orderd a British prime burger and it was so over powered by herbs was inedible.  When complained was told he must prefer a Mc Donald’s burger.  No a quality burger that taste like a burger would be nice.  They did remove from bill.  Service was pretty poor, incorrect drink orders, had to chase to get what we wanted.  Then to top it off when we got the bill there was loads of drinks added to our bill.  When they were removed with the service charge was over £30 taken off.  I can appreciate they have new staff, but an apology would be been nice rather I insult.  Won’t be visiting again.
