Our stay at the lovely Kilchurn Suites was clearly one of the highlights of our recent Scotland Tour. With Paul and Kate’s warm welcome we felt like we were visiting friends. We stayed in Suite 1 on the top floor of their beautiful Edwardian building. We couldn’t have been more pleased to find a bright comfortable apartment with an unforgettable view of Kilchurn Castle and Loch Awe and the property’s beautiful gardens. The well-equipped kitchen and cozy sitting area allowed us to cater for ourselves and enjoy some quiet time between visits to the gorgeous surroundings. We were sad to leave this special place!

Definitely a Highlight of our Scotland Trip

Just had 3 nights here on our grand tour of Scotland. From the second we arrived we knew we’d made the right choice. Met by Helen who is super friendly and helpful. Our Suite was ready early, many thanks for that. The suite is finished to the highest standard, with everything we needed even a pint of milk. It was super clean too. Huge bathroom with separate bath and shower, fluffy towels and lovely complimentary toiletries. We stayed during the “heatwave of July 2021” when at times it hit 30 degrees! Helen kindly supplied a fan for us very swiftly! All in all an amazing stay, brilliant host and a fabulous suite, we will be back, thank you

Awesome

I spent two nights in apartment 5 while Mum and I visited friends in the area. It's a beautiful apartment, spotlessly clean, comfortable and cosy, with lovely furnishings. Thoughtful extras like bathroom soaps, fluffy towels, biscuits and other bits and pieces in the kitchen made the stay even nicer. They even left us some milk! 

We were welcomed by Helen, who was lovely and she kindly called after we left to let me know Mum left some clothes behind, and she posted them to her. 

A lovely stay. I will stay there again, and would highly recommend Kilchurn.

Perfect!

Arrived at Kilchurn Suites and were met by Helen who was very friendly and filled us in on the surrounding area. She showed us to our suite (Suite 1) which is in the main building up 2 flights of stairs.
The suite is very nicely presented and was spotlessly clean with everything you need for a self catering break. It also has beautiful views of Kilchurn Castle and Lochawe.We ate out one night and stayed in for a relaxing evening on our second night.
If you are looking for a nice quiet break in beautiful surroundings I would thoroughly recommend Kilchurn Suites.
Unfortunately the weather was pretty awful during our stay but the suite was very cosy and had a lovely shower room which helped us clean up after our rainy walks!!

Relaxing break

We absolutely loved our week here in suite 5. It had everything you could wish for for a great a self catering holiday. 
Our apartment was spotless, the beds were super comfy, and the layout was perfect for our family of two adults and two teenagers. 
The suites are situated in a great location. There is a pub serving lovely food just a few minutes walk away, Oban and Inveraray are both within half an hours drive, and there are numerous opportunities for Fell walking right from the door step!
Helen and Peter were perfect hosts, with a wealth of knowledge on the local area. Nothing was too much trouble for them.
We wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.

Fabulous!

A fantastic property with all the facilities you will need. Very spacious and well presented. The hosts were very helpful and directed us to the local pub for food, which was lovely. 
A lovely area with lots to explore and do.

A wonderful stay with brilliant hosts

Searched for a general location around Loch Awe and this gem showed up.  Old manor house, beautifully restored.  The suites in the main house are modern and fully equipped.  We had Suite 1, which had an amazing view overlooking Kilchurn Castle.  Helen, the owner, was extremely accommodating and helpful.  The location was close to Oban, Inveraray Castle and Glencoe.

Our suite was comfortable, with all the facilities we expected, and the owners of the property were helpful to a fault.

I drove there but could have taken the train because Loch Awe, for all its small size, has its own station!

Great Weekend at Loch Awe

First of all, you need to know that upon arrival you are forced to sign a waiver that allows the owners to charge your credit card if you leave unwashed dishes, unclean stovetop and oven, broken or dirty appliances etc. This was not explicitly stated in the booking.com conditions, so you are not aware of these hidden rules at the time you make the booking and by the time you check in, they already charge your credit card, forcing you to take the deal as it is. 

Secondly, we were coming from Harris Island and our ferry got cancelled/delayed 10 hours due to bad weather. We asked the property to refund our first night because we were unable to arrive in time and wanted to avoid driving until 5AM, but they refused to do so, justifying that travel insurers deal with unfortunate issues like this. Usually, in Scotland, people are really friendly, so look for a place that will make you feel welcome, not one where money is a top priority. 

In addition, the master bedroom is close to the main road and noise was bothering our sleep at early morning hours. 

+Apartment is spacious and clean, though expensive compared with similar offerings in the area. Too bad that the owners are not flexible at all. 



Avoid if you can

Had a lovely long weekend in these sumptuous apartments. Stayed in suite three which has a Juliet balcony from the lounge and the bedroom with delightful views of the garden and beyond to Loch Awe. Kitchen/diner was fully equipped with everything required, the bathroom was huge with a big tub and a free standing shower and we loved the big comfortable bed which provided a great nights sleep after long days exploring Loch Awe on cycles and foot.
