Had a great meal at the George III, good to be back in the area and to be able to revisit. Took advantage of the Pie and a Pint deal, which was damn tasty with a pint of the mighty fine Helles Pale Lager. Nice atmosphere with friendly staff. It’s a great location being able to look across the estuary, makes a great stop over when touring the area. Well recommended.

What can I say that I haven't already said before? What a fantastic place to stay! Great rooms, amazing views, very clean, excellent food and friendly staff. A special thank you goes to Anthony for making the afternoon/evening in the bar & restaurant with my two friends so enjoyable 😊.

I’ve been here a lot for food over the past 12 months, but finally got to stay over 16th-18th feb 2024.. and all I can say is it certainly lived up to its reputation, the rooms are just amazing with breathtaking views. 

The foods is brilliant very tasty great value for money chiefs are fab.. and as for the staff they really make the whole experience just brilliant.. they are kind friendly nothing to much trouble.. it’s just a little gem to visit..

Weekend get away.

We enjoyed a very pleasant stay recently. The room was excellent and the views terrific. Bed very comfortable. Staff were friendly and helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our breakfasts (included in room price). We also ate in the restaurant in the evening which was great. Limited choice for vegetarians but tasty food, well presented.

Stunning location. Hotel had a warm friendly atmosphere with excellent staff. Food was outstanding with a good selection. Staff checked to make sure everything was ok. Pub/Restaurant and hotel is dog friendly.

Simply stunning

Not the cheapest hotel but the convenience of the location and the fact there's a restaurant were you can have both lunch and dinner without reserving in advance is very interesting, as the location is quite remote. Staff was really friendly, especially the one gentleman at the reception when we've arrived (I forgot your name, I'm sorry). Food was good, at breakfast lunch and dinner. 
Room wasn't all that amazing but it was spacious and clean.
The location is really pretty and several beautiful walks start right at the door of the accommodation.

Great convenience!

After finding this hotel when walking, we booked a night in one of the front facing lodges. They are so comfortable. Lovely bedroom with Nespresso machine. Fabulous bath and shower. Very clean and with your own patio to enjoy the view. 
The food for dinner was super and breakfast was too and all dog friendly. 
Look forward to coming back.

Rooms with a view.

So excited to find this restaurant in such a stunning location… therefore so disappointed to have such an average experience. The main restaurant was full, so we opted for pizza from the bar outside. The barman was grumpy verging on rude… he obviously hates his job! The pizza was average… poor pizza base and tasteless topping. I asked for olives on my margarita and was told he had no way of doing it?!

We have just returned from a really lovely stay !
We loved everything about it. Our room had the most perfect view over the estuary.
Staff are so friendly and we had a lovely warm welcome on arrival.
My friend had the steak cooked rare which he loved and I opted for the curry - all fabulous. 
A very relaxed atmosphere and a great spot to watch the sunset from the window seat.
We cycled the next day and left the van in the car park with no issues.

I did submit a review to the  restaurant first and wanted to give them the opportunity to respond. As I have not heard from them my review is below

We had a very nice table in a pub with a glorious location and lovely view. As you will see from the scores our main issue was the quality of the food (specifically the beef) and unfortunately this made our overall visit a disappointing one. I specifically asked your server what cut of beef you used and after checking she advised it was sirloin (which was good). I asked how you normally served the beef, to which her response was 'pink'. I did specifically then mention that my preference was to have the beef as rare as possible.
When the meals were served the beef was covered by the yorkshire pudding and I did not see the beef until your server had gone. 
The beef was not rare, nor indeed pink but consisted of small 'scraps' of overdone tasteless 'something'. Had someone asked whether we were happy I would have mentioned this but no one came to check on us from the time that our plates were left until I asked for the bill.
We had expected to be in the restaurant for a lot longer with desserts and coffee and perhaps more drinks but chose to leave far sooner than planned because we were so disappointed.
In hindsight, I should have complained at the time and I regret not doing so. I am sorry to say that it was one of my worst Sunday Lunches in a restaurant and I am sure that it was not properly representative of your normal standard
