This is my favourite place.very romantic,lovely gardens and wonderful meals. The staff are always welcoming and polite they made our night special recently,when my partner gave me a beautiful ring,they kindly took photos of our special moment together 🌹 highly reccomended I give 5***** 👍🤗🌹😉💟

Whilst the hotel is good with nice clean rooms and good reception service, the hotel hosted the annual dinner (around 100 people) of a club of which I am a member. Such dinners are usually average to say the least but it was unusual in my opinion for the meal to be well thought out, flavoursome and a bit different.

 I would highly recommend the venue for such group events.

A good meal at a club dinner is unusual

I stayed in Impney Court which is an annex from the main building that I think was built in the 80’s.  The building was really tired as was the room, wood chip wallpaper, electric heating.
As I was trying to sleep there was a drunken altercation with lots of swearing.  When I left the next morning I navigated around the remnants of a screwn burger on the floor.
On a positive note, the room was really clean and the staff friendly, I don’t however think it was worth £80.  I won’t stay again.

Oh Dear

I have never been here before, I visited with family members, it was an event for people interested in holistic therapy and crystal gems. It was free to get in, had a fabulous time. The drive to the hotel is very scenic, I didn’t stay there, just went to the event, as family live nearby. Friendly people and would definitely visit again. Marvellous location. 

Mind Body Spirit event.

Very disappointed on our visit yesterday. I had booked an afternoon cream tea. We arrived on time, booking was checked and we were shown to our table and a pot of tea brought straight away. All looked good. Then - nothing.
No one came back for at least 15 minutes, when the server came by I asked about ordering sandwiches too and was told she had to do teas first and then departed.
10 minutes later when she came back I asked how long it would be as we had to drive back to London, my question was ignored and we were asked about food allergies- did we need gluten free? and before we could answer she was off again. When she came back 5 minutes later she asked in what name was the booking made.
At that point we said we could wait no longer and left.
Again, very disappointed and surprised that it would take longer than 30 minutes to provide a cream tea that had previously been booked.

We have stopped at the Chateau before but noticed an improvement in both the food and service in the restaurant this time. The menu was varied and food quality excellent. We had a lovely room overlooking the gardens at the front of the chateau and although it was a cold night the room was warm and stayed at a pleasant temperature throughout the night. All staff were welcoming and friendly. Cannot find any faults with our stay.

Wonderful one night stay for Birthday

First stay at Chateau Impney but certainly not the last. From the time we walked through the doors to check out all staff treated you so respectful and really could not do enough for you. Everyone was friendly and certainly appeared to be enjoying their roles.

We arrived early in order to have a light lunch and drink in the bar. Sandwiches were lovely and it was so warm and comfortable sitting there.

Our room was fantastic overlooking the front garden and fountain. Everything clean, plenty of tea/coffee making facilities, lovely toiletries in the bath room with an enormous shower.

Evening meal was delicious I can certainly recommend the Thai style tiger prawns, what a flavour . Husband had rabbit and baby leek terrine, which he thoroughly enjoyed. For our mains we had slow braised pork belly and smoked haddock fish cakes. Sorry no room for dessert,  perhaps next time !!  A special mention here to Michelle, what a wonderful lady who went out of her way to make sure guests felt welcome and comfortable. Thank you Michelle.

Grounds were lovely, even at this time of year and managed a good walk round between rain showers. 

Overall a thoroughly enjoyable stay, one I hope we can repeat in the warmer months to enjoy outside terrace and the grounds.

Could not fault a thing !!

I took my friend for afternoon tea today for her birthday. As we walked in there was nobody to greet us, we walked to the bar where a member of staff was talking to another member of staff, she made no effort to greet us, so we waited patiently until she had finished, this alone I thought was rude ! We were asked if any dietary requirements, I chose Vegetarian, which swiftly came with a pot of tea. The only thing I could fault about the sandwiches, is that the bread on some of the sandwiches was dry. We were not asked once if everything was okay ? No more tea offered. Very poor service, plenty of staff, but non of them seemed happy to be there. Sad to say I won’t be returning.

Very disappointing

It must be thirty years since I last visited the chateau. This time I suggested it for dinner to some friends when we were all visiting the area.

The first disappointment was that the restaurant has been modernised, in the style of year 2000. Clean and Nordic, somehow at odds with the exterior of the building, and leading to it being quite noisy, particularly because of the hard wood floors. 

I can't fault the food, the menu was well created and varied, and the meals were very edible.

Regrettably it all fell to pieces with the drinks. The staff appeared to have no knowledge of wine or spirits and the bar stock was laughable. I mean a chateau with no Calvados or Armagnac? What's that about? I felt for the young man I asked for a bottle of Macon Villages. He hadn't a clue, and I didn't help by pronouncing 'Villages' in the French way and in the end we had to resort to pointing at the wine list he returned with. Maybe had I offered the UK word for a couple of small settlements he would have been able to understand. It's not his fault, he's young, and patently the training he has been given by the hotel is horribly inadequate.

It would be a long time before I would venture back here for dinner.

I really wanted to like this

The hotel is stunning from the road and as you drive in, the expectation grows that this is a lifetime experience. Reception is a bit dull and a bit dated as is the bar downstairs which was trendy erm......I don't know when. Parts of the original building are still stunning with stained glass and huge sweeping staircases ,massive ballrooms etc. The rooms in the original hotel are far better than in the separate annexe which are very dated with pink fixtures and wall mounted hair dryers which are from 1955! The staff were good, the food was also tasty, breakfast edible and a small choice of beers which looked like the remains of  sample bottles, choose Peroni. Please don't choose the annex you will hate it unless your last hotel started with the letters HMP.
