Had a couple of stays here in September and both were lovely. Friendly staff and comfortable room too. Self-service breakfast had a good selection. Pub across the road served nice food with a great selection of sausages. Will definitely stay again when I am in the area. 

Lovely Spot

Had a short night's stay here for early flight next day and took Peter's very useful advice to allow plenty of time to get to Stansted as it would be busy. We missed breakfast but it looked amazing and all set up in a separate building, ready for us to help yourselves if we wanted, it looked very varied with lots of choice. Shame we missed it!
We hadn't realised that when we booked we should have stipulated we wanted a double room as on expedia it showed we booked a Twin/Double room so next time we need to state our preference. We were allocated a twin room which was fine, the lighting wasn't bright though to do my make up in the room when the bathroom was occupied though. Could have done with another electric socket to use for charging phones. Wifi was a bit tricky to get onto but we didn't really need to use it much anyway. We would definitely stay again if we fly from Stansted again. Its close to a pub and easy to find and a short 15 min trip across to airport early in the morning. Peter was most helpful and accommodating.

Lovely place

Stayed overnight for a morning flight from Stansted. We could not have asked for more. Greeted by Peter a most friendly and helpful host. Our room was spotless the bed was really comfy and the continental breakfast was spot on. We would not hesitate to recommend it and we would definitely stay there again if flying from Stansted. We also left our car there for the fortnight at a very reasonable cost. Top class.



Ideal

Me & my partner stayed for 1 night before an early morning flight, owners were really friendly & hospitable, we were given a choice of rooms !! Breakfast room is fantastic as it’s left open for guests to use, great for having something to eat & drink before an early flight, located in a lovely village, pub 2 minutes walk away & food is great, we’ll definitely book again when flying from stansted 


Overnight stay 

One of the best in Bishops Stortford area. This was our 2nd stay, and not our last. Perfectly comfortable with good self serve breakfast in a beautiful shabbychic dining area. Looking forward to a longer stay

Ideal for those who have to leave in the morning for Stansted. Wonderful place! I recommend arriving well in advance so that you can enjoy the place to the fullest. From London you can arrive by taking the train to Bishop's Stortford (1 h). When you arrive, if you have agreed with the owner of the Bonningtons, she will pick you up at the station. The owners are very available and will also book the nearby pub for dinner and taxi to Stansted Airport.

That's great!

When you arrive at this beautiful and typical B&B you are literally sick of the care and attention with which all the areas that make up it have been taken care of, from the (wonderful) rooms to the breakfast room (a jewelry) to the outdoors. Unfortunately I only stayed one night, but I intend to return. Close to London-Stansted Airport (only 8 km) but you already feel the atmosphere of the English countryside.

Absolutely perfect!

Great solution found thanks to Tripadvisor A very large b&b with many rooms even with 3 and 4 beds. Very clean and modern. Finally an English accommodation with European style shower... without electric water heater. Free and really efficient Wi-Fi. Flat TV with many channels. Kettles to prepare coffee or tea. Peter the owner is gentle and available. Average prices Single sin but maybe I see it as a positive note... They don't do English breakfast since many travelers leave early in the morning. At least it stays light for the buzzes that will follow during your trip.

Perfect for staying close to the airport but without giving up comfort.

We found ourselves at the Bonningtons after our London Bari flight was gone and with great surprise we discovered a wonderful place. A snow-covered cottage, in the middle of the English countryside, beautiful, cozy, very warm, very close to Stansted airport...it seemed like a dream. Very gentle owners, a couple of Englishmen, really available to customers. Excellent quality price ratio, in the most absolute way. The rooms are furnished, bright and typically English. Very warm shower and beds with the hottest breakfast in northern Europe.

A very nice place for a romantic weekend

We went as a couple to this hotel for a weekend from Friday to Sunday. The reception was great. The owners came to pick us up at Stansted Airport, picked us up on Sunday and also took us to Bishop's Stortford, the nearest town or we could take the train to London in 25 minutes. We had the small double room, the bedding was fine, we had a TV, everything was very clean. The rooms were individual (small apartments), we had the key so we could get out and come back at any time.
