The crown is a local pub to me but I would travel hours for this pub it’s amazing, lovely atmosphere and the staff make me feel very welcome, especially rory and jess they always give me a massive smile and always talk to me and my friends

We visited Ye Old Crowne for breakfast, after spending £100 the night before on drinks.
The staff member behind the bar was chatting away to her friend (who later turned out to be an off duty colleague) and totally ignored us.  Eventually we had to ask if we should seat ourselves.  At that point she'd turned away and told us over her shoulder to take a seat & that she'd be with us.  We were still waiting 10 minutes later.  No-one else had been served during that time, yet the chatting at the bar continued.   We decided to cut our losses at that point and leave, thanking the staff for their non-service and saying we wouldn't be back.  I had left my keys on the table, so did actually need to return to fetch them.  At this point the two at the bar were giggling away at our exit, but turned abusive as soon as they saw me. Avoid.

Customer certainly not king!

My second stay here, so was expecting a similar good experience. This time I booked a twin and a double (previous twin). These were both on the ground floor and although the twin was of a similar standard to last time, the double was far inferior to those on the upstairs floor (staying with family so could compare those rooms). The room was so small and cramped without even a chair to put anything down on. With my case open, there was no way to access the open fronted cupboard as there was no other floor space for it. The stair case ran through this open cupboard so literally you could see the underneath of it. No guesses as to how noisy that was every time someone went up or down stairs in an old building. Both rooms had windows that looked directly into the courtyard yet neither had any net curtain or similar means of privacy, meaning that not only was the room cramped, but also very dark and dingy with closed curtains and one overhead light. A real insult to have to pay the same rate as all the other twin and doubles with a much inferior room. Very unimpressed with the whole experience this time round.

2 of us went for a Roast, telephoning ahead to book.
Received a warm welcome, good service and an excellent Roast Beef Meal, with plenty on the plate!
Followed with a decent pudding!
Compared to other pubs we’ve been to would also rate this as excellent value!

Have come in 3 days in a row and been in the industry 20yrs owner and staff operating at a different level .... Will recommend and shout about ya all love mark weird African  man...will come again and bring the unit... These people's are caring and cut from a different substance ...

Rihanna Josh need pay rises

Disgraceful customer service. Quoted us a price for our family of 4 and we booked our room. When we booked two weeks prior to visit, they told us the children were welcome and they would put extra beds in for them. The manager called us back the day before our intended trip to tell us they had made a mistake and to quote another price, which was considerably more on top (around 50% extra) just to allow our children to stay in the room. The manager wouldn’t honour the original price, was somewhat rude, and told us we had to pay more or cancel. Naturally, we cancelled, causing much inconvenience. Avoid!

Disgraceful customer service. Avoid!

Do not take your dog in here. They have 2 scruffy white things that will attack your dog. When your dog fights back, you will be banned. This used to be the best pub in Edenbridge. Those days are gone. I can’t speak about the food because I never had a chance to get any. But the pub is nothing like it used to be

Lovely warm welcome

We stayed here or a friends wedding for one night. When we got there we were told there is no breakfast as the chef won't be in, we said do we get a discount? they said that the breakfast is complimentary so you can't have a discount, so dont expect a breakfast even is its advertised. then they gave us a room next to the beer garden with the window looking out at the people drinking, we asked to move and they were so rude about it, the guy got so huffy at us, we finally got a room upstairs but its was a stress, I wouldnt recommend it at all, they dont like guests. if your chef isn't always in then dont advertise breakfast or put on a continental option, I wouldn't have stayed here if I knew breakfast wasn't included because it wasn't worth the money. Bit fraudulent really.

NO BREAKFAST INCLUDED

We booked a table upstairs for a large family gathering. The venue was perfect, transformed by the current owner. The roast dinner was completely faultless and the staff were so thoughtful and attentive. Ye Olde Crowne is improving with each passing day and fast becoming the heart of the High St.
