Made to feel unbelievably unwelcome. 

My wife and I brought our kids & another family  into to this place for coffee & cake. We were made to feel incredibly unwelcome, so much so, we left before even ordering. 

The manager told us we weee unable to put one single chair next to a booth so we could all sit down, because it contravened health & safety and they had to ensure people could get round. There was plenty of room & hardly anyone in! They told us we had to sit in a dark corner. Ridiculous 

Disgraceful behavior. Will never return.

Awful customer service

Popped in for something to eat last night (04/03/24).

Hadn't been for a long time and wasn't disappointed. Food and service were great. Glad we made the decision and won't wait as long for my next visit.

Thanks to Anna for the nice and friendly service.

P.S. probably didn't need the Sticky Toffee Pudding but it was very nice!!

GREAT FOOD

Brilliant food and service. One of our favourite places in South Queensferry. Had lunch, dinner and breakfast here previously and all are delicious 
The menu is great with a huge choice and the atmosphere in the restaurant is so chilled. If you’re in the area definitely go!

Great place

Nipped in for drinks when staying in South Queensferry. It was really busy but the host found us a comfy couch with a view over the old bridge. We only had drinks but the food looked amazing!

Drink with a view

Went for the third time to Orocco Pier and felt I had to write a review. My husband and I book for a chilled overnight dinner bed and breakfast. We arrived early and asked if we could have our inclusive bottle of Prosecco out on the deck. Beautiful view and ordered some delicious nibbles from the bar. When we went up to room we’d been upgraded to a beautiful big room with stunning views of the Forth. Downstairs before dinner for delicious cocktails, then through to restaurant for dinner. Wonderful menu, lots of fresh shellfish! Breakfast is a menu where u order as you like.. perfect. All the staff from check in, to drinks,  to dinner, to breakfast, were so nice. We have booked to go back as it’s the perfect recharge with a warm atmosphere. Well done Orocco Pier!

Top marks!

Visited  this B&B & found it to be a great base for us.   

It’s a good 10-15 minute walk to the train station up the hill.  Trains very regular to take us into the city. Found this was perfect for us.  All downhill on the way back!!! 

South Queensferry  is such a pretty little village with magnificent views of all 3 bridges.  There are a few places to eat however Orocco Pier had a good menu & food was lovely.  Good choice at breakfast too! Outside seating area is amazing!!! 

All in all we enjoyed our stay & would book again.

Lovely place!

My wife and I had an overnight B&B stay at the hotel, courtesy of a 60th birthday present for my wife from our two wonderful daughters. I'd heard good things about the hotel, but was absolutely knocked out by how good it was.

After luckily securing a pay & display street parking slot right outside reception, we took our cases up to our sea-view Exec double. Wow !!! As a Fifer, I know all about the various Forth Bridges, but to see all three so close was just fantastic.

Equally good views from the Antico Bar/Restaurant, and I'm sure that sitting in the outside courtyard on a summer day with the water so close would also be a fantastic experience.

We had booked for dinner in Antico and wondered if it could match the view. Could it ever !!! My wife started with oysters and followed with the half lobster. For both dishes, she asked if minor changes could be made, and the chef was happy to oblige. Very much appreciated. My own meal (without any changes) was soup (sweet potato, butternut squash and a hint of chilli and confit leg of duck. Both were absolutely fantastic. The Irish Coffee I ordered afterwards was one of the best I've ever had.

Off to bed ... the room had everything we could wish (on top of the view). It wasn't massive but was very well designed. In fact, from what we could see, the decoration and fittings throughout the hotel were top-notch.

Breakfast turned out to be a little disappointing after the high standards of the dinner. Nothing wrong with the quality of the food, just missing some basic things like cereals and juices, condiments  and side plates for toast. I wonder if it would be an idea to have a table set up for residents to serve themselves ? This is pretty much standard these days and still allows table service of the hot food.

This is a minor quibble, as is my observation that the hotel WiFi is pretty poor. A bit better in the bar, but practically useless in our bedroom. As the 4G signal was also lacking in the bedroom, this was a minor frustration.

Finally, a word about the staff. Without exception, they were terrific, always smiling and asking if we needed anything. A special mention to the lovely Heather at reception and the waiter who served our dinner. I didn't catch his name but if I said (without being rude) that he could have been a grandson of Leo Sayer, you'll know who I mean.

Orocco Pier is not cheap but it offers great service, great food and (of course) great views. We will definitely return, maybe just for a meal or drink on a summer evening, but ideally for a repeat of the full overnight experience.

BREATHTAKING VIEWS AND WONDERFUL FOOD

Refused entry today for morning coffee due to my 65 year old husband wearing a football shirt (no sponsor slogans on it) not even to sit outside at pavement tables.  Told there is a blanket ban on football tops, wonder if it would be the same had it been a rugby top?
Oh, and the same place hosted a screening of the women’s World Cup final recently.  Astonished!!

Staff were warm and relaxed, came with a cycle and staff were ready with a safe place, surprised with the balcony more so to how close the bridge was, room was compact but said this in listing however more than enough space for me

Only negative was the balcony lights there were on a timer and not a led to be turned off in room

Would come again

Out of all the hotels we stayed at in Scotland, this hotel had the best customer service. We really appreciated their willingness to answer our questions and accommodate our early arrival. The room overlooked the three bridges in Queensferry and the room was very clean and comfortable. We were lulled to sleep by the waves and the noon checkout time allowed us to relax in the morning and not feel rushed to leave.
