Stayed in one of the lodges and view was amazing. Birds everywhere, so quiet and calm even though there were neighbouring lodges still felt private. Reasonable size lodge and hot tub fenced off. Very well equipped with everything you need and a little welcome basket with bin bags hand soap washing up liquid etc which was a nice touch. However it needed some tlc. Things like chipped wallpaper cooker knobs loose rusty microwave damage to kitchen cupboard doors radiator knobs loose dirty carpet quite dusty, the overfill on the bath is half way down so you can’t fill the bath properly. 

Two small towels provided and one tea towel. Two bedrooms , main bedroom with ensuite mattress very hard, second room twin beds mattresses sprung but uncomfortable. Plenty of crockery and plates etc , main radiator doesn’t work so quite chilly in main open plan area , small smart tv but it doesn’t have a strong enough signal so can’t use apps on it. Shortage of plug sockets. Good base for exploring , some lovely eateries close by. Insulated lodge so if you put heating on it warms up and stays warm for a long while.

well equipped but tired looking needs tlc

Great lodge with hot tub with awesome view. Very clean with some good touches from complimentary midgie spray to slippers and robes for the hot tub. Very sorry to leave and will definitely book again.

Very relaxing with views to boot

Stayed with a group of friends end of April/beginning of May. Even though the weather was pretty miserable our stay was not! 

The lodge was decorated to a high standard, was modern, comfortable and clean. The robes and slippers were a nice touch and great for all of the time spent in the hot tub. 

We had a lovely Sunday dinner at the on site pub and had the best table in there with a beautiful view. All of the staff were amazing but Jamie our waiter really stood out. 

Also the manager Gary helped us out when we got stuck so thanks to him too. 

Very tranquil and a fantastic break from the hustle and bustle of life. Highly recommended.

Relaxing weekend with friends

Otterstone Spa. Fantastic lodge with hot tub. Kitchen had everything you might need and everything was spotless, bed really comfy. Lovely fire/tv combo. Staff on the whole site were really lovely and very helpful. Hot tub was great for relaxing after a lakeside walk and checked by the staff every day. Recommended!

Lovely relaxing break

Had a fantastic stay at the lodges at Kielder. Cleanest lodges we have stayed in, super friendly and helpful Staff. Lovely welcome pack and an excellent experience at the winter wonderland. Would defiantly return.

Lodges and winter winderland

We had a fantastic stay at one of the Kielder Lodges - it was perfect in every way. The location is superb - you are right in the middle of the forest and there is a huge variety of wildlife on the doorstep. 
The lodge was very clean and tastefully decorated. The kitchen was well-equipped, containing everything you might need for self-catering. We particularly enjoyed eating our breakfast on the balcony each morning. The hot tub was amazing, what a luxury!
I would recommend booking activities in advance - we booked bike hire for two days (pick your bikes up at Kielder Waterside, just next to the lodges) and mini-golf. We would highly recommend this site and cannot wait to return!

Relaxing break in a special location

Had a lovely stay in lodge 19. Mostly clean but maybe covid steps have taken their attention from general cleaning as could have written your name in dust on lamp shade.
The room with double bed was a VERY tight squeeze.
Also worth noting that although that lodge is wheelchair accessible, there is nothing to help the disabled in bathroom ie very low toilet and no grab rails any where.
Other facilities were lovely, some very friendly staff. Restaurant kitchen seemed over worked as long waits in the Oasis and food that was marred by slight inattention; the pigeon for example, was dried out despite being pink so probably sat at the pass for ages, the frangipan had no taste as overpowered by an overcooked pastry taste. I suspect that fully staffed the food would be first class.

Lovely visit but lodges could be improved

My daughter is staying in the 5 bedroom lodge called Spedding Lodge arrived Saturday for 1 week paid £2500 not worth £10. When they woke up this morning mice droppings and wee everywhere they have a 10 month old baby and a 2 year old in the lodge and toys chewed by the mice. Pulled out the sofa to find dirt and cigarette lighters from previous guest so no Covid 19 clean in this lodge. Went to reception which was very unhelpful, pest control came late afternoon and told them lots of mice activity all over the lodge placed traps everywhere so they are having to come home early no apology, offer to move them and no refund please think before you book here.

Never again mice infested

Booked a Monday to Friday break at the landal kielder site and returned home fully relaxed. Lovely forest setting, plenty of wildlife and you may see the odd red squirrel too! Lodges are well equipped, hot tub nice and warm,towels and robes included. Shop onsite although I would suggest you go fully prepared as stock is limited somewhat although Tesco do deliver to this site if you run short. Decent little gym, pool and sauna. Steam room out of order at our time of visit.
This is a dark skies site so as expected you will be a long way from any light pollution, therefore any urban areas too!

Relaxing stay in beech premier spa lodge

we stayed in one of the lodges with two chidren and 1 dog,facilities were great,lodges had everything you need,the cafe and bar opened at different times with it being winter,when we booked into swimming pool,we had it to oursleves which the kids loved,plenty of walks to do and spent a bit of time in games room,staff couldn,t do enough to help.once arriving home i realised i had left some ckthes in draws,i emailed and was contacted quite quickly,and told they had found them,one member of staff lived near to us and she went out of our way to bring clothes back on her way home,Dominique was her name,i couldn,t thank her enough,would recommend anyone to give the lodges a facilities a try
