The Albion is perfectly placed,  right on the sea front so has amazing views of the ocean. 
  The staff team are all very helpful. Nothing seems too much. 
   The rooms are spacious, immaculately clean and comfy.  The bar is well stocked and the food is wonderful.

Superb Stay

The hotel rooms are very large and spacious and was very clean, however did smell very musty.
We stayed here as they advertised a whirlpool, indoor pool and sauna, the whirlpool was freezing cold and the swimming pool was only slightly better and the sauna has never been fitted. This is very disappointing when the idea was to chill after working for five weeks solid and we were looking for some relaxation and rest.
The meal on the first night was not the best and we were asked to pay for it before we went for the meal, which I find really strange.
All together a very disappointing experience and will not be returning.

Very poor

Probably the most overpriced hotel I've stayed in, and the most horrible. Decor is tatty and needs refurbishment. Outside of hotel the same. I booked the four poster suite. The balcony was full of scaffolding, making it impossible to walk about, the room smelt, was dusty and had sticky surfaces and a dirty toilet. The windows appeared broken, everything felt unclean. I complained on arriving and was offered a downgrade, to a junior suite. It appeared a bit cleaner so I agreed. However, no hot water on the first night, so cold showers. Later I was advised by reception to run the taps for 10 minutes to draw the hot water to our room, which was some distance from the boiler...all this for £299 a night?! 
I'll never return and will be looking for at least a part refund. I left on the second night of our 3 night stay to stay at another hotel, paying more and losing money, it was that bad.

Just awful

I arrived to a warm welcome from Lisa on reception. The hotel was perfect, my room was comfortable and spotlessly clean
I was puzzled by poor reviews (some of which are quite old). Everything is explained in detail on the hotel website (including each day’s menus). So I can only assume that those who posted negative reviews had not done full research in advance and/or had unrealistic expectations.
My stay was absolutely fine.

Friendly Welcome

My wife and i have stayed at this hotel  after  the huge rebuild  25-30  years or so  ago and have stayed around  7/8 times  so i know this hotel well  after our last stay we decided sadly that it  would be the last     bad service and food had gone down hill   one evening the waiter seemed

 uninterested in taking our order so we left and had our meal at the sun (?) inn close by all in all a great shame this hotel was once  the  very best on the island ...sadly those days have long passed            come on Albion hotel you really are better than this

Albion hotel

Paid £700 for a 3 night stay at the Albion hotel Freshwater iow. Lovely views large room, bathroom ,tea in room ect,with lift to upper floors.
At the time of our stay hardly anyone was staying in the hotel . very quiet ,the bar was always empty, meals were expensive £18 each for breakfast, £19 each for dinner and they were unable to say what it would be, we brought breakfast once ( it was average) we found breakfast at Colwell bay 10 minute car journey away there’s also a pub there.
The hotel is quite isolated with nothing around it so we were great full for the travelling tavern a converted double decker bus turned into a pub which was parked up at the lifeguard building along with the mobile pizza van which provided the entertainment for most of the weekend.
Hotel only fit for room only I am afraid won’t be returning.

Not worth the money paid

We visited Freshwater Bay yesterday in blazing sunshine! Had a wonderful swim then made our way to the Albion for a refreshing drink only to be faced with a sign saying ‘ no access to non residents’ you really are missing out on a roaring trade!!

Disappointing

The Albion Hotel is right beside the sea. There is free parking. It is spacious and well appointed and has just been redecorated throughout in a traditional style. 
Our room was large and extremely comfortable. We enjoyed being able to use the swimming pool and jacuzzi.
We enjoyed having half board. Our breakfasts and dinners were good, tasty, and very generous.  The dining room took us back to childhood holidays in the 1950s!  The dinner menu changes daily. 
All the staff were friendly, welcoming and helpful. Lee, who served all our meals, was delightful, making sure we enjoyed ourselves.
Our only regret about the holiday was that it came to an end. We hope we’ll be back!

Great three day break

This traditional hotel is situated in a beautiful but slightly remote location - great for the bay and the walk to the needles , but worth it to take the meal plan as no other restaurants nearby.This was very very good indeed although not a huge choice of menu options for dinner, we always found it very well presented and enjoyed it - you can’t go wrong with the cooked breakfast and the choice of meat or fish or vegan for dinner. We think Covid had limited the options . The room we had ( sea view double ) was a good size and the bathroom was huge .we sat on the balcony was beautiful to see sunsets and hear the sea. The room was very clean too. 
Reception explained that with Covid we would have to request towels changed or beds made ,the night prior but they would replenish tea and coffee daily . This was fine for us as we were a 3 night stay .
The hotel did have a lift and in general staff were exceptional but they were short of staff , hence often the bar was unmanned which stopped us buying drinks in the evening after dinner. Assume Covid related also . We did use the pool which was very clean and nice if a little small but would be great for a family swim . The jacuzzi temperature was cold though so not much fun to sit in. The hotel arranged the ferry at a reduced rate as we booked direct which was nice .

Beautiful location - exceptional staff

We really enjoyed our two night stay at this hotel generally . Great location with a balcony overlooking the bay . Large fairly standard room , linen and towels smelt amazing and bathroom spotless . 
My only complaint was that the package deal they offered ( £30 per person per day for breakfast and lunch ) was only available for the whole duration of your visit or not at all ,! After some discussion ( this would have cost us £120 ) we decided to opt for this , only to be told they were fully booked . It worked out okay and gave us more flexibility as we had a reasonably priced curry in the town , fish and chips on the beach by moonlight , and breakfast bits from Sainsbury's ( at this point a fridge in room would have been great for the smoothies and fruit pots ) for the grand sum of £50 !!, 
Overall a great stay and staff were helpful and obliging .
