My reservation for COP26 (which had been made more than 6 months in advance) was cancelled the night before my travel.  No one would answer the phone to respond to my demand that they honor the reservation (I suspect they were engaging in the rampant price gouging around the conference). Expedia was also unable to contact anyone and I was rebooked into a total dive. It was miserable. And yet, this place has the gall to email me for "feedback" almost daily. I have offered it with no response.

Disaster - and I never walked through the door

Stayed here for still game live in November. What a dump, public hair in the bed, booked a double got two singles breakfast horrible, after 10pm just full of youths loitering around the corridors. Bed sheets full of stains

This place has caused us so much stress and anger, I’m getting angry just typing this. 
We asked the manager (Shaun) if we could store our luggage while we hiked the West Highland Way. We also made a reservation to stay for our return from the hike. 
After we completed the hike, we come back to what felt like a twilight zone situation. 

We were told the manager that worked there was gone and the lobby and breakfast room were all switched around and it looked like a different place. When we asked for the luggage we stored, the new people in charge (a younger woman and a man named Paul) had no idea what we were talking about. 
To top it off, they also had no record of our reservation that we made for the night.
Apparently the old manager (Shaun) up and left which is understandably a difficult situation for the business but the way they have handled things has been absolutely ridiculous. 
From that day on it seems we have been fed unfounded responses time and time again.
First they told us that our luggage was shipped to Dublin and we would get it back in a few days.
After a few days we called them and they told us our stuff was in “pieces”
After freaking out wondering what that even meant, we drove 5 hours in the middle of our vacation to retrieve our “pieces”.
They returned to us a few items of ours and after pressing them for weeks we were finally told the rest of our stuff was thrown out. 
A hotel we paid money to stay at had thrown all our belongings in the trash. We had been traveling for months with expensive gear, travel documents, personal items like old family jewelry that can't be replaced, and gifts we had bought from all around the world...and now it was gone. 

It’s a very fishy situation and I don’t think they’re telling us the complete truth.
We have stored our luggage at hostels and guesthouses in third world countries and have never experienced anything like this.
We were told multiple times we would be “compensated very well” and it is over 2 months now and we have yet to see this "compensation" for nearly 1500 dollars of stuff that they threw out.
We have been in contact with the company that owns this place, MetroInns, and they have not been helpful. It’s incredibly difficult to even be able to speak with anyone that can help us. Almost every time we call they are unavailable or try to get us off the phone by saying they will get to it. Same every time.
It really was an awful situation and created so much stress for us still to this day as we keep bothering them for any compensation.
The place itself has its issues. The front door seems to be always unlocked so safety is not a priority there. The rooms are damp, there was blood on the sheets of our pillow, no full size towels, and the free breakfast they brag about wasn’t even out and all of the guests were complaining.
I would never recommend this place to anyone and MetroInns seems to be a terribly run company.
If you look up their other guesthouses in the UK, they all have low reviews.

Unbelievably Awful Management. Threw out our Luggage. AVOID

Secure front door entry was not used at all due to the new owner being a smoker and not wanting to have to unlock it for himself every few minutes, so security for guests is a massive risk here. The door is left unlocked 24/7 despite what he will tell you, it was certainly unlocked for the entirety of my stay. When I finally got checked in (it took around 15 minutes for anyone to bother answering the door despite my constant ringing the doorbell - there were even two people in the bloody dining room) another guest (or possibly staff I will never know) was allowed to use my room, her stuff was all over my room, my door was open and her shoes were in my doorway and her things were all over my room, she went in to gather when she realised it was MY room only saying sorry, it's clean I swear I was only using it until you came. I mean, really! On what planet is that acceptable?! The old manager would never have allowed that to happen, despite the low prices paid here! The manager again made absolutely NO apology for this. This should NOT be allowed to happen, again another security risk and now cannot trust that guests (or other staff) won't be allowed to use your room as they please while you're away, making your key worthless, indeed, whilst we were away at the event we came for, upon my return, none of the things in the room were moved. Apart from my glasses. I had to wear contacts that day for my outfit, and had left my glasses neatly tucked under my pillow, right underneath so they wouldn't fall off the bed. I came back to find them on the floor next to the bed. 

You are fined £50 if you smoke on the premises, however due to the front door always being open and people smoking just inside or just outside with the door open, the building and rooms always stunk of cigarette smoke. This won't bother you if you're already a smoker I guess, but not everyone is, and it's not what you're paying for after all. Guests are unfairly penalised as a result, one rule for us, another for them.

 The noise levels here now that the old manager has gone (in the last few weeks) are horrendous 24/7, no one keeps it down or is told to, there was constant loud, obnoxious behaviour during my stay, which I heard THROUGH earplugs AND noise cancelling headphones AND YouTube constantly playing at high volume over said headphones. Lights are left on 24/7 so I had to block the bottom of the door with my clothes, light still seeped in along the side, doors were always slamming, I actually checked out of my stay a day early, costing me extra elsewhere due to being woken up in the middle of the night with the noise on my second night and having to book somewhere else. The place now just generally has a really horrible energy and it feels like a very badly run hostel and the manager couldn't care less as long as he gets your money. He also gives the impression that him or one of his staff members/friends/whoever it was we had to bump into the morning of our event would get really angry with you if you complained about the place to his face. So we made polite excuses and quickly left. We left him guarding (I kid you not) the hall like a bouncer, with three teenagers sat on the couch looking miserable as sin. I don't know if he's just letting anyone in now to do whatever they like and they've somehow managed to really annoy him, but that alone made for a very uncomfortable exit.
The lightbulb also blew on the second night and we had one lamp for a day or nothing. Good job we were out for most of the day...

Gone downhill so fast!

We have stayed here once a month for past 4 years. Shaun the manager was always so accommodating and very helpful. Arrived last Saturday to a new person who hadn't a clue what was happening and no record of our booking thank goodness for e mails as Shaun always confirmed our booking by e mail. The boy phoned his boss to ask what to do and my partner asked to speak to him. Eventually got a key for room then 10 mins later you're in wrong room! Eventually got sorted and gave boy our other dates we'd booked but I don't trust that he's written them down. 
This is the best... went for breakfast in the morning which used to be continental help yourself and was fine for price you pay but this time? ! No bread no milk no butter. Went to ask boy who was just sitting at desk and he had to once again phone his boss. He hadn't a clue about working in  a hotel. I suggested he go out to buy all these things but no phoned his boss. Bread eventually appeared then milk. Butter was the best it was chunks taken from a block of butter and put on a plate! 
This place is basic... you get what you pay for and suited us but definitely gone downhill big time. So disappointing.

This little gem is in a quiet corner of Glasgow, with tons of cafes and shops nearby. Great vibe, great price. We had a huge room on the main floor. The carpet needs to be changed, but otherwise the place was perfect.

Fabulous find

I stayed in this charming guest house for one night in February. Having arrived at the appointed time, check in was smooth and very friendly. 

I had booked a single and the manager immediately offered me a double room at no extra cost. 

We’re in the midst of a standard Glasgweigen winter (bloody cold) and as the heating had only just come on, I was offered an electric heater.

My room (2) was on the ground floor; light, airy, pretty clean and the bed comfortable. I can’t commemt on breakfast as I slept in! 

All in all, a great value stay in one of the best areas of Glasgow. The park is literally on the doorstep, laid back bars and pubs are plentiful and scattered a short walk away.

I would definitely stay again, but - do not book it if you like to drink champagne on a lemonade budget!

Pay £25, and expect the Ritz, then more fool you!

we stayed at the beersbridge on our recent visit to Scotland unfortunately whilst on holiday we received news of a relative passing away and need to extend our stay the owner was very kind and understanding and even allowed us to book out later to save us from hanging around the streets before the funeral all in all we found the guest house a very pleasant stay and the owner very lovely

For people that value kindness and great hospitality over and above monetary value this place is 10 out of 10. The staff were kind and caring and friendly couldn't have been more helpful beds were comfy and it's warm and cosy all you could want and every one of them went above and beyond for whatever we asked. No idea why the reviews on here are so negative some people just can't be pleased or expect too much also would be more than happy to stay here again and would highly recommend it to anyone. Very central to local town centre and lots of places to eat and drink near by.

It was comfy, had good wifi available, breakfast included. The main door into the lodge is always locked, so very secure.

The towels were a wee bit on the old side, and the wallpaper was gross. Nothing to really complain about though!
