The hotel was closed so we stayed in a wood lodge for a few nights. They are the perfect place to stay for a week or two, plenty of things to do nearby and a well set up lodge with good heaters/fire and a well stocked kitchen. Beds were comfortable and warm but the bath was tiny and a bit of a waste of space.
The afternoon tea was delicious and the pool looked inviting.

Good lodges 

Absolutely loved it! Stayed for 2 nights with our small dog mid February with absolutely no complaints. We stayed in lodge 4, it was clean, tidy and extremely warm. The boiler which was tucked away nicely in the bathroom looked relatively new and was easy to use. With plenty of radiators dotted about it was a cozy stay in a very chilly month. The lodges are self contained with a living room, kitchen area, separate bathroom complete with shower, 2 bedrooms, one twin, one double. All rooms are fully equipped including a TV in the living room, all that’s needed are personal belongings.
We did not dine at the hotel but did make use of the pleasantly heated swimming pool. We found a dog friendly pub/restaurant approximately 2 miles away (a pleasant walk) and the town is a short drive away with plenty of local shops, restaurants and takeaways. We found the local butchers delightful for breakfast and packed lunch ingredients! 
A truly fab stay, we are already planning our return. A really great find.

A Cozy Lodge Stay

We have stayed here 4 times now and we absolutely love this place.
The staff are lovely and attentive. The food is good. The hotel itself is magnificent and retains alot of character and charm.
The pool was very clean and welcoming.
Like all old buildings it has a few flaws but that just adds to the charm of the place.
We are already planning our next stay.

Peaceful and relaxing

The Hotel is more like an old fashioned holiday camp. The room was clean and had a nice new bathroom, The staff were very friendly and helpful. However the afternoon tea must have been made the day before very poor not one of us ate anything (group of 4).

We didn't use the swimming pool so can't say anything about it.
Wouldn't stay there again.

Travel Zoo stay with afternoon tea

Very nice place, great swimming pool,friendly staff, clean bedroom, very nice afternoon tea, nice big shower, would go again, lovely old fashioned building lots of character, plenty of parking, we went on a groupon deal realy good value for money

We stayed in lodge on a last minute getaway groupon we arrived to bottle of Prosecco  clean towels bedding showergel shampoo washing up liquid bin bags dish cloths milk tea coffee milk  3 bedroom lodge 2 bathrooms bath shower warm clean cosy peaceful location lovely walk down too grange over sands promenade the staff in hotel were lovely pool area hot clean towels provided again  we had pool too ourselves water lovely warm we were amazed as so cheap £149 2 nights cheap n cheerful for 5 of us can’t complain will return again , yes hotel is dated but we stayed in the lodges and worth every penny and more with the service and supplies we got , the other guy who wrote an essay on negative feedback needs to get a life what does he expect on voucher deal cheap & cheerful Fambo time You do get what you pay for £14.90 PP per night I thought voucher deal was worth every penny , if we were not going to Lapland again this Christmas we would of booked here again for Christmas time just the place to switch off and chill x

Lodge stay 

We spent two nights in one of the chalets in the building. The location is very nice and quiet, with a wonderful view, but the interior of the chalets is absolutely remodel. The furniture and carpet are very old and dirty. The mattresses have springs that pop out. We were six people and we thought we could divide the three rooms but when we arrived we found out that one of the three rooms was single and one of us should have slept on the sofa bed in the living room. And this could have gone, we didn't get formalized. But when we opened that room we were awful. We were dirty, old and with used sheets left. We went to the reception with a branded response that pulled us out of the room until a good luck broke out the next day, certainly, but it was not the best way to stay in the living room.

To be restructured

We checked in to the hotel everything seemed okay. We got to the room the room smelled like a damp dog there way damp on the walls the towels in the room where dirty. The room wasnt even clean the swimming pool was closed. We went for afternoon tea we found plastic in the Scones the cream was off and we had to check into another hotel as this place was not fir for purpose. It was a terrible experience and we wont very coming back again. What ever you do don't stay here.

Terrible

We stayed here in may and I wrote a 1 review on the “Cottage” which I stand by, however I must say after the complementary lodge stay we have just had, it was really really nice ! Clean, quite, and cosy, we couldn’t eat in the hotel restaurant as it was not open for evening dinners ?, strange, the hotel pool is very well kept and enjoyable. The views from our lodge were quite breathtaking ! I would recommend a stay in Lodge 3 for a short break. Been very close to the sea, it’s great for doggies ! Shame we didn’t have ours with us. Thank you Andrew for addressing our previous issues.

Lodge 3 - second visit

Lovely clean modern room and bathroom, friendly service on arrival . Great indoor pool which was not busy, had it too ourselves. Lovely gardens . We would definitely stay here again . Nice walks nearby .
