Not only did we receive a very warm welcome from Jane and Dave, but a very friendly goodbye. Upon arrival Jane showed us around the house and the showed us to our room, while Dave took our bags up to our room. Short afterwards we met Jane in the guest lounge for cake and tea. The facilities at the guest were extensive, eg chocolates, biscuits, whiskey and lots of different teas. The breakfast menu was extensive and very nice indeed. The view of the loch was stunning to say the least. This is one of the best guest houses that we have stayed at.

Very welcoming, friendly and helpful.   A glass of whisky on the house every night and the breakfasts are wonderful with a great range of food and drink. Super  B and B in a lovely location.  We will return!

Brilliant two nights here and our hosts couldn't have done more to look after us. Everything we could have needed was thought out in advance plus wonderful breakfasts. Superb location and an excellent time had.

Gem of a Guest House

We were looked after very well from the booking time through the stay and after. Packed breakfast to meet early ferry, whiskey nips nightly breakfast amazing. Booked restaurants for us and great beds and bathroom host performed at local pub ! Fab music!!! What a bonus. !!! 

Great stay 

If we could award more than 5 stars to Ceol Na Mara, we would. Dave met us as we cycled onto their drive way. A warm friendly happy person who wants to ensure you have the best possible experience whilst staying with him and his lovely wife Jane.

We got the grand tour of "their home" together with the most delicious chocolate tiffin and tea. It is worth staying there just for that! 

With stupendous views all around them, Ceol Na Mara is at the very top of the tree in B&B's. We have never stayed at a place more welcoming, friendly, and informative. Dave and Jane really have thought through everything you might possibly need whilst staying with them.

Our room was beautifully appointed, and spotlessly clean. It had a little fridge inside the wardrobe, with fresh milk for your tea/coffee. Our bed was very comfortable. the room was bright and cheery and tastefully decorated, as was the whole house.

Jane and Dave seem to love people and talking to them. If you only stay at one B&B anywhere in the Outer Hebrides, stay here. Don't ever leave! You will get spoilt rotten! We were disappointed that we had to cycle on from here, so could only stay one night.

The absolute best B&B anywhere, run by a lovely couple. Thank you Dave and Jane for a wonderful stay.



 Ceol Na Mara, The Best B&B Ever!

The B&B is in a large three storey building set overlooking a bay, really picturesque and feels at the end of the world, but is only 5 minutes drive from the ferry terminal in Tarbert.
It is newly refurbished and spotless, with lots of harris tweed, lots of room with guest lounges, with TV etc..  The owners really looked after us well, thinking of everything, lots of information about the island, excellent shortbread biscuits on arrival, they were lovely, and the place is so cosy and comfortable, and a tasty breakfast too.

beautiful location and wonderful hosts

This is easily the best bed and breakfast guest house my wife and I have ever stayed in. A 5 star rating is thoroughly deserved.

Dave and Jane were great hosts and gave us excellent advice on where to visit and eat.

The breakfast choice was  huge  and the little extras Dave and Jane provided in and outside the bedroom  was fantastic.  e.g. malt whisky at night, choice of biscuits outside the room and an honesty bar if you want it.

We will happily  recommend this B and B to our friends and will come back ourselves in the future.

Outstanding Hospitality

Having read a lot of the reviews we looked forward to seeing how accurate we thought they were. We weren't disappointed, this b and b is absolutely perfect. Dave and Jane are the perfect hosts, the accommodation is perfect, the breakfasts have to be tasted to be believed and the effort that was put into my wife's breakfasts, to look after her dietary needs was unbelievable. All the little extras you get at home and many you probably don't get, were there. Finally the advice on where to visit and where to eat is brilliant. If you never believe what you read on trip advisor, believe what everyone writes about this place.... perfect! 

Nearest to perfection you'll find

I'm not actually sure what to say, everything you could possibly want and need has been so beautifully and thoroughly considered by Jane and Dave. From comprehensive local information before arrival, a full breakdown of allergens in all food served,  things I didn't even know I was missing like sachets of cordial! As warm sleepers, we particularly appreciated the option to switch to a lighter duvet. Our stay included a rainy Sunday and we took full advantage of the wonderful views from the lounge and the sharing board in the evening featuring fabulous local produce. We were spoilt for choice at breakfast too. We left on a minor disagreement about whether Dave would carry the bags for us, that's as close to a negative as I can get!

Wonderfully relaxing stay.

What a place and lovely hosts. We´re travelling for 15 years to Scotland. But we have had never such fantastic hosts. I don´t know how to start. The rooms are lovely and so comfy. The beds are fantastic. Every day another Whisky in the room. A well equiped fridge and the breakfast...how can I explain that. It´s delicious, so fresh, 
we´ve never had a breakfast like that. Dave and Jane are perfect and lovely hosts. We difinetly come back.
