Be warned the place is dated and dirty with slow unhelpful staff.
The rooms have never seen a proper clean for months. Filth around the bath and obvious water ingress on part of the ceiling along with black mold on the window surround. The carpets are edged with a thick layer of dust and fluff. There's no way I'd stay in this overpriced place ever again.

Harrogate South, the Premier Inn that time forgot

The room was dirty and smelled damp/musty. Sweet wrappers left near the bed and the bed sheet was stained.
I requested the room to be cleaned at 9:30 the next morning and the stained sheet changed. The room hadn't been cleaned when we returned that evening. Reception staff weren't interested and told me to report it next morning to the manager. I did she wasn't interested either, her exact words were "I can't turn back the clock"
As we went into the restaurant there were 2 men fast asleep in the bar area surrounded by dirty crockery, I said that they looked like homeless people to the manager, but she said they worked there!
We didn't stay for breakfast, we packed up and left, never to return.
We have been staying here for more than 13 years, several times a year but it has deteriorated badly.
Oh and the TV was broken and the bathroom had a leak

Dirty rooms, disinterested management.

This PI is cheaper than some others we stayed in on our trip, which was nice, and we didn't want the town centre because of the parking which is £15 overnight. This one has free parking. It's handy because its next to the train station. The staff were helpful. 

negatives: Very nasty musty smell on entering, like old dish cloth smell. This smell remained for our whole stay. older style hotel, open your window to cool down, put on the wall heater to warm up. Open window means traffic noise. Overhead shower, no hand held shower, so take a wash cloth. Bedside light was out. TV controls didn't seem to work properly, I asked for help, she told me it was a 'basic package' and it would respond, just wait. Sure enough she was right, but it was very frustrating trying to operate it (I've been in lots of PI's and this was worst tv).  Restaurant adjoining serves breakfast, it's not a buffet, so if you want more, you aren't offered it. Coffee is from a big coffee pot, not a machine, so there's no choice. 

Overall, it was ok, but I wouldn't be going back as I think it all needs an upgrade.

A tired hotel

Really disappointed with the our stay, the smell of damp in our room was absolutely disgusting, the rim around the shower was black and needed a good clean. There was dust everywhere.We had a cold shower which resulted in us having to go to a family member’s room to have a shower before a wedding. Went down to reception twice to complain and we couldn’t find anyone. 

Damp

Quiet uneventful stay. Good food at both breakfast and evening meal. We had not booked the meal deal but this would have been very good value. And nothing else more to say really but need to keep typing to hit the stupid minimum 200 characters!

Comfortable, hassle free stay

we stayed from the 25th to the 29th of September,very comfortable and all staff were polite and helpful. we would like to give Emma and Ellie a special mention as they looked after us at breakfast and evening mealtimes, a credit to the organisation and themselves for the work they do.

all round great experince

We never fail to have a great value stay at a premier inn and this one was no different.  Comfortable and clean room. Table Table restaurant next door. Food and service excellent.  
Special mention to Leona on the hotel reception.  Unfortunately I had booked the previous night by mistake and didn't realise until we had already set off. I quickly booked a room for that night and due to having booked the previous night on non flex I thought we would just lose the money.  Mentioned to Leona on arrival and she suggested we rang guest relations. Gave us the number and all the details we need and we did get a refund as they "realise it was a genuine mistake".  Leona didn't need to help us in this way and feel she went above and beyond so BIG thank you to her. 


Brilliant customer service 

Booked for five nights in an accessible room for my mum and myself. We had a lovely stay. The room was comfortable and the accessible shower was excellent for mum. Staff friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our stay. Thank you.

Friendly, comfortable, convenient

Well appointed premier inn, easy to find too. We’ve had some bad experiences at premier inns over the last few years but this one has been excellent. 
Starting with a very knowledgeable and friendly receptionist to waiting staff. Room and bathroom were very clean and apart from a very heavy duvet on a a warm night! Comfy bed and pillows.
Dinner was good, breakfast Buffett layout a little disappointing but overall good.

Good stay

Arrived early Saturday morning for the Leeds Festival and was promptly checked in. Later saw some others shouting to a staff member who, kudos to him, was really professional as all others I did encounter.
Room clean and includes tea, coffee with plenty more on the front office counter. Even managed to get some earl grey when asked the same gent in reception.
