Stayed here with my partner, for two days, to attend my mother's funeral.  Immediate family live close by, but I booked the stay as a sort of 'back up' - wasn't sure what time we'd get to Hartlepool the evening before the funeral, and wanted the option to have somewhere to return to on the evening of the funeral.  What a great choice!  The place was spotless, and the owners were friendly (& respectful given the circumstances).  The breakfast offer / dining room access was excellent.  Our room was large enough and comfortable enough to toast our mam with a cheese board and glass of port. We got comfort, space, and extras at hostel prices. Thank you Paul and Julie x

I booked Brafferton guest house for this weekend but unfortunately, storm Babet and the great British rail had other ideas and I'm stuck in Sheffield. I called and spoke to Julie. She was absolutely lovely, called booking.com for me, refunded the booking, and was the one part of this day that wasn't stressful. Now that I've made it home I just wanted to leave a review as a thank you for her amazing service today!

Stayed here yesterday , had an amazing night sleep  rooms are perfect for what you need Paul and Julie who are the owners are first class couldn’t fault them in any way make you feel really comfortable and at home, great little selection for breakfast all in all one of the best places I have stayed in this country I have stayed at some really high end hotels and never had the experience of owners like these they are lovley genuine people will definitely be back and will be telling everyone I have worked along side hotel inspectors on many occasions and one thing I can say is it’s clean , value for money , and a great little place to stay 

So please support a little local business like them selfs high end hotels you only paying for the name

A little gem of a business

The owners, Paul and Julie, are lovely and really made you feel at home with their kindness and help. It's so difficult to find dog-friendly hotels, but they have certain rooms allocated to accommodate your 4-legged friend which is fantastic. My boy loved staying there too (he would give a  6 out of 5 star doggy rating if he could lol!) and loved the fuss, attention and kind doggy treats Paul and Julie always had ready for him! The whole place and rooms are always clean and immaculate, while the communal bathrooms are kept freshened up throughout the day, which is a nice touch. The inclusive breakfast buffet is great because you can help yourself at any time throughout the day, so you don't have to rush to beat the breakfast deadline like at most b&b's.

This is the best value, nicest and friendliest guesthouse I've ever stayed at!

stayed here last night and had a very warm welcome which was what was needed after a very hard day on my course in hartlepool. the service is better than what you would receive in a hotel let alone a small family ran b and b. was told to help myself to food from the fridge, as much fresh fruit as i wanted aswell as cereals, breakfast bars and yoghurts in the fridge. i was even told if i wanted to make a packed lunch for my course i was more than welcome to. the rooms are very cosy and exceptionally clean aswel as bathrooms and toilets. i am staying for my final night tonight and i would definitely come back here again if i was at the training centre again. well impressed

My wife and I snatched a quick day away (from children and responsibilities!) and checked in to Paul and Julie’s guest house. I was bowled over by how good this place is. They put extras in all over the place (eg ‘help yourself to anything in the fridge while you’re here...’) It was spotlessly clean, despite having shared bathrooms (they keep refreshing and cleaning it up so everything’s perfect). Will definitely try to come back again. THANK YOU!

What a great find! 

I came to Hartlepool to attend a pro tiling course for 2 weeks and chose Brafferton bnb as it was close to the course centre (1km walk) and has great reviews. I had a lovely friendly welcome by Paul and Julie who went through everything that I needed to know for the week. Room and breakfast was great and I was made to feel really welcome. My double room was spacious and the towels changed every day which is a nice touch. You can tell the hosts care about their business and their guests and the reviews show it. Highly recommended!



Great find!

Julie & Paul made us & our dog so welcome from the minute we arrived, my adult kids & I were blown away by their hospitality & the friendly vibe that their guest house has. Frank our canine reviewer was also really impressed. They found us 2 adjacent rooms & Frank just settled right in immediately. For anyone who has dogs, you'll know that's a win straight away:D

We were treated like royalty, there's plenty of shared bathrooms to go around, there's running water, ample brew facilities & TV in your room & the dining room/kitchen is open all day too. You walk in & it's just so relaxed, it's wonderful. There's parking out front or round the corner, the convenience of a town walking distance & the coast 10 mins drive away. Loads of things to see & do & a great base for exploring the area.
The whole place is spotlessly clean, the rooms are lovingly decorated & there's ample supplies of toiletries. Julie & Paul don't claim to run a boutique 5* hotel, but in our humble opinion it's better than The Ritz, we will definitely be returning whenever we can!!

Me and my wife booked this guest house for radio 1’s big weekend and were all good to go and i phoned up to pay it and to inform the owner we would be arriving til about 11pm on the Friday night she took a horrible attitude with me and told me she was cancelling the booking as she didn’t want to wait up now we are stuck with no where to stay unless i pay more than a weeks wages for the 2 nights shocking way to treat customers absolutely gutted !
