we stayed at the fabulous Coach and Horses Hexham,for a nostalgic weekend . This was the first time I had  been back to Hexham for almost 55yrs. I cannot sing the praises enough of a young man called Ian I think he was part of the management team, who went out of his way to make us feel relaxed and comfortable. Ian also arranged a fabulous evening with a wonderful childhood friend of mine, whom he coincidentally knew. All of the staff were very attentive, the rooms were pristine and the food was great. Thank you to all of the staff but especially Ian, for making this such a truly memorable weekend. Cannot recommend highly enough.

A nostalgic weekend

A great value hotel with lovely features for the price. The only thing missing was a fridge. Housekeeping was wonderful as was the breakfast service. Being recently refurbished the room was attractive and comfortable for our 2 day visit to Hexham

Chilling out in comfort

Popped in on the spur of the moment, so glad we did. The food was absolutely fabulous, fresh tasty and hot, good size portions.  Every thing about this pub was brilliant even down to the loos, spotlessly clean.  The young ladies who served us were a delight, oh and the apple pie is to die for

Worth the visit

Rooms are warm, cosy and tastefully decorated, it has been refurbed recently at a cost of 1 million pounds.  Room 2 is right on the main road but very little noise from the street and has a lovely ambiance.  The bed is very comfortable and warm. Food here is a total delight, breakfast includes fruit, cereal, yogurt and a cooked breakfast.  Dinner is equally as good.  "The Coach and Horses triple stack burger" is so nice.  The staff are amazing and helpful.  Definitely one to come back to  again, especially as it is dog friendly.

Hexham's best hideaway hotel.

We stayed in a deluxe room which was newly refurbished. The room was tastefully decorated and spacious. The bed was huge and super comfy. A fabulous night’s sleep. Great bathroom with lovely toiletries. Couldn’t fault the accommodation. 10/10 for the staff too who were very friendly, welcoming and helpful. Food was average in the bar but good value. Breakfast was ok:: 40 minute wait for food wasn’t great. Poached eggs were perfectly cooked. Sausages and bacon were average quality. Overall a great stay and would return for the comfy bed alone!

Newly refurbished, lovely rooms and friendly staff

Came to visit friends and stayed here last night. 
Absolutely amazing . 
Everywhere is spotless the bedroom, the bathroom, the pub and the garden. 
Team are very polite and attentive .
I believe that the building has had a reverb recently! 
What a brilliant job they’ve done. The pictures on here don’t do it justice.
Right in the middle of Hexham easy to get everywhere.
Free parking also couple of minutes down the road. 
Thank you so much for looking after me ,I will definitely be returning with some friends again.

Visiting friends

Great value accommodation in the heart of Hexham. We have just returned from a 2 night break at The Coach and Horses. The pictures on this site are old now and the venue has had a great facelift. The rooms are airy and modern, the breakfast was spot on. The whole place was spotlessly clean and the team were super helpful and welcoming. Parking is free and two minutes from the site. The location is super central and there was a nice atmosphere in the bar. We are out whilst in Hexham but had breakfast included in room rate and that was super tasty. I feel like this venue is 3 star as mid range, however it is 5 for cleanliness, atmosphere, facilities and the team. Super value and would highly recommend.

Exceeded expectations

Had a lovely meal here today first time here staff very friendly great service food amazing great portions sizes  reasonable prices would definitely come back when in Hexham again and definitely be recommending it too friends and family. X

Family meal

Arriving at the coach & horses we were greeted & shown to our room which was a lovely touch. The room was superb & spotlessly clean. We also had in the room a pet blanket, pet towel & dog treats supplied for our dog. Breakfast the next morning was well presented & beautifully cooked (thank you chef😊) a few choices for breakfast was also available. We also received a wonderful breakfast for our dog of scrambled eggs & sausages. Superb. 
A busy & friendly bar at the evening with great bar staff to. 
Overall a great place to stay & we will definitely be back. Thanks to our hosts, Fiona, Paul & Kam for making our stay perfect. See you again soon we hope.

Great welcome at The Coach & Horses

This is an exceptionally good place to stay. Beautifully furnished, stylish rooms, very comfortable and spacious with very friendly and helpful staff. It’s well-located in the centre of Hexham with shops and restaurants next door. 

I believe it has been recently renovated and it would appear that a vast amount of care and attention has gone into it - to great effect. Highly recommended.
