I have just returned from and overnight stay on an organised golf trip.  The golf course is adequate but not in th best condition and could do with a lot of money thrown at it. We had a problem with a lack of buggies that had been pre-booked which meant some of our group having to walk and carry with insufficient pull trolled to give us. Credit where it’s due the Manager did provide us with a free liqueur in the evening as way of apology. With regard to the hotel accommodation it really should be called a B&B, although the water in the shower was hot that is the best I can honestly say about it, none of us would stay here again and would agree with a lot of the comments that have been stated in previous reports. You can’t blame the staff who were very pleasant and the food although basic was excellent.  As a golf party shutting the bar at 10pm was not helpful to both parties as we wanted a drink and they obviously need the money.

Not the Best

Old & run down. Very cheap for this reason. 
The one chap running the bar at the adjoining golf club also looked after check in. He was very good at his job and a nice chap just a shame the hotel was not up to his standard. 
No instructions where to leave keys in the morning if you are up and away before 7am. There is no reception in the hotel and the golf club was shut.

Not the best.....

WiFi was not working, room was old and in need of renovation or demolition. Pealing paint and damaged fixtures with no aircon or even a fan. Food well below standard even for bar food! Staff were friendly and helpful but accomodation very poor.

Felt very let down

This hotel is more like a hostel. Stopped 4 nights and managed to eat a pizza which was microwaved. This is the menu which is unavailable.
The rooms are not serviced daily. There is no reception to ask why, just poorly paid bar staff what are up to the neck with the owners.
Bring a barbeque with you or starve.
The bar shuts at 9 and not 10.30 which i wad told when booking.

We arrived, we were confused! There's a white building that says hotel, we went in and everything was shutters down, we went over to the golf club and were greeted by a friendly welcome, directed to the bar and got our keys, went back over to the hotel building, went into the room and this is where the problems started, the first delight that greeted us was a floating s**t in the toilet, so then we started looking.. oh boy! An inch of dust everywhere, only 1 sheet on the bed that didn't fit properly which was on top of a stained disgusting mattress protector, we moved the bed (which was on wheels) to be greeted with chips from someones takeaway, tissues (the only clean thing in the room!!) And a wrapper from a plaster and an inch thick layer of dust, the bathroom was totally minging (apart from the floater in the loo) there was big black marks on the tiles, my partner rubbed it with his finger and it would have been very simple to remove, the shower curtain was moldy and there was toothpaste splattered all across the mirror, you could see all the dust in the light fitting. The room was covered in cobwebs and dust, pat testing had not been done on any of the plugs or appliances for over 2 years!! 

We went to the bar to complain and ask for a refund because there was no way we were staying there, to find out that my partners card had already been charged, he booked it through booking.com  4 months ago and the money was take 1 month ago without his authorisation, that's fraud in our book, when the manager was called to give our refund she was very rude and threatened to call the police! 

All in all a very bad experience and definitely not worth £70 per night, we found accommodation in a spotlessly clean hotel just down the road for £40 which included breakfast too!! 

DO YOURSELF A FAVOUR! DO NOT STAY HERE!
