If you treasure the old English inn surrounded by lovely countryside, steeped in history and managed informally by people who are super friendly, who'll go out of their way to accomodate your requirements and cook you lovely home made food at reasonable prices you will love the White hart inn. this is how country pubs used to be and sadly there arent many left now, Strangely many people seem to prefer the soulless corporate controlled chemically cleansed 'shiny surface type' box hotels, I like to think though that there are enough history loving, down to earth travellers with enough gumption to support this lovely old pub, Its been there over 500 years and deserves to be seen and enjoyed by generations to come, If you are earthy you'll love it, but if you think you are better than you are, you probably won't. I'm booking again as soon as i next visit the Wolds and I'm looking forward to it. It's like stepping back to the good old days of proper English rural pubs.

Lovely old pub, friendly staff, excellent, had a lovely stay which included some nice drinks in the bar and a hearty breakfast, nothing was too much trouble, worth finding in the Lincolnshire wolds, on our way to Norfolk , will stay again

White hart great to stay

What a dump!! and dirty with it. It has a restaurant/food area which I would never use as looked dirty dark and dingy. No hot water from hot water tap in sink. The bathroom was thick in dust and dirt with loo roll holder falling off the wall. Only hooks behind door to hang cloths on as no wardrobe. I slept with my cloths on as felt the bed looked dirty so slept on top of the quilt and not in the bed. Scrap yard for a carpark with rusty old vehicle and caravan falling apart scattered around. Room walls so thin I could hear the guy next door snoring for most of the night. Room smelt damp or just smelt with a patch of what looked like mould on the ceiling Spiders dead or otherwise on roof of room which I cleaned away or killed. The bar downstairs also looked dirty and dingy so decided not to have a drink. Please just knock this dump down as it isn't worth the £48 I paid for 1 night of hell and more worth about £20 a night tops but I still would not ever go there again even at that price. I have to say this must be the worst place I have ever stayed in and words fail me that the owner can get away with running such an awful place. On leaving I just could not be bothered to say anything to the establishment about my experience although I should have said "Just bulldoze the place and start again"

Absolutely ghastly!! 

What can i say….. this was the best thing i have ever done!  The pub is amazing, so quirky and beautiful, full of so much history. Loads of room to enjoy, party and relax. What a time we had with our dearest friends.  Pulling pints, darts, playing pool. There is games to play, music, karaoke, tv’s everywhere.  Rooms are clean and plenty of space.  Overall this is an amazing pub, so much fun. I would 100% recommend this place. Cannot wait to go back !!! Thank you so much Richard     

Had the best time EVER !!! 

Fantastic opportunity to experience having your own private pub for the weekend with all your mates! Felt very welcome and at home. Clean & tidy, lots to do, darts, pool, games. Beautiful location, and building. Already booked a return visit! Would highly recommend. 

Unique experience

Well what an amazing experience had by all of our friends. On arrival we were met by the owner Richard whom was very friendly and very accommodating. His wife/partner was lovely very friendly and chatty. We had the whole run of the whole pub. We all loved it that much we have booked to return next year. Loved all the animals and wildlife too. There are ample  bedrooms all with an en-suite. We even had complimentary bacon, eggs, bread for our breakfast, the following morning. Thank you Richard. See you next year. 

WOW!!! What an experience. It’s a must.

We stayed in a cottage across from this gorgeous inn and were very pleased we did! We have gone across the lane to have a few ales and a meal several times in the week we were there. The staff were warm and welcoming, the locals friendly and chatty and the landlord, Richard, very affable. The food is very well cooked and absolutely delicious! These type of old rural pubs, this one is 500yrs old, are becoming few and far between which is such a shame. We met a couple in the bar that travel 25 miles from Skegness just to have a pint here! If you're anywhere in the area we highly recommend a visit, you'll be glad you did!

Lovely country pub, genial host

Well we're do I start. Arrived to pub to be greeted by owner who didn't even realise we were stopping to be told one of the rooms isn't ready yet, even though it was gone 4.00pm. Dinner not served until gone 6.30pm but judging by the look of the kitchen I wouldn't even make a sandwich in there so opted to eat somewhere else. Room was tiny with 2 single beds that looked as old as me. Bathroom was tiny and shower hardly worked. Walls are paper thin so u can hear every movement from rooms next door and out on the landing. Got woken up at 11.30pm by a dog Barking in the room next to me then the owners shouting at it and banging around taking it outside. Didn't get to sleep till gone midnight and had to be up for 6.00pm that morning. Nearest shop is at least 15 mins drive away in Horncastle. After politely emailing the owner asking for a invoice I was met with abuse as I had left an honest review through booking.com which they obviously did not like. Very unprofessional in my opinion. Avoid at all costs. Worst place I have ever stayed!!

Avoid at all costs!!

Perfect for a stag weekend. Owner was amazing. 8 of us for the first night and others the second. Scenic rural location, within taxi drive of Market Rasen racecourse (which we attended the first day).

Brilliant

Arriving at the premises at 6.30 on a Friday evening and finding that it was shut (it's a pub!) says it all. Photo shows a pretty country pub, what it does not show is the car park with abandoned cars. The beer garden filled with pens for chickens ( the cockerels were wonderful at 4 in the morning), ducks, rabbits and rats. Bar only open for residents, but no beer on tap. Landlord constantly moaning that he couldn't make any money and going on about how the locals don't like him. Rooms very tired. I wasn't expecting much at £45 per night, but oh dear....
