We checked in to a room full of cobwebs, no lights working, no remote control for tv and no WiFi working and no hair dryer. We booked on booking.com,and so money was taken upfront,  £150 for the night. There was no way we were going to stay in this dirty room with no amenities working. We chose to leave. We wrote an email to the owner of the hotel Nicole, however she never had the decency to reply. We also complained to booking.com.If you choose to go to this establishment beware it really is dangerously dirty, there were also bugs crawling everywhere.

Disgusting filthy dump

The whole place was filthy but especially the bathroom. Caked on soap residue, hair, old hair clips, old soap etc. The toilet looked like the inside of my grannies tea pot as it hadn't been cleaned for months (we do have photos) Couldn't complain to management as there were none present. Mentioned to the Barman and he said all we could do was leave a review. No food available at lunch time or in the evenings as there wasn't a chef and hadn’t been for months! The breakfast was OK and the breakfast Chef was pleasant and helpful but later saw him changing bedding etc in the rooms in his Chef’s whites!!
On the second night, a Saturday in August (17th), we were asked to leave the bar at 9pm as the barman wanted to go home!! Leaving the place deserted apart from the guests sat in their rooms. Advertised as a restaurant with rooms! Disgusting!! Outside was scruffy and obviously a 'work in progress'. The bar had many well established cobwebs with grime over all surfaces except the bar. You only have to look at any shiny surface such as the TV or piano etc to see how dirty everything is. We couldn't use the kettle in the room without cleaning it first. It's such a shame as it could very easily be a very nice place if it was ran by people who made half an effort.
Around £300 and two days out of our lives we will never get back.

Filthy, a restaurant with no food!

We were staying at the campsite at Hurley so we had a walk along the river and came across this pub , obviously a work in progress as the outside area was a little messy ! We had drinks and I asked for a packet of crisps , not sure how much we were charged for a packet from a Lidl multipack , thought you weren't allowed to resell these items !! There was only 1 member of staff who was serving behind the bar in between stripping beds and cleaning rooms !!

Disappointing

My wife, daughter and I recently stayed for a week in the family room. We were quite nervous based on some of the reviews on here but were so glad we were not put off. Both the owners and the breakfast chef were such friendly hosts, as was their son who was a willing playmate for our daughter. Nicole made us feel like one of the family and went out of her way to provide anything we needed including buying the breakfast cereal our daughter wanted. The room was plenty big enough with a comfy bed and great views. Food was good and would definitely come back.

Relaxed stay at beautiful country inn

My partner and I stayed recently at this beautiful establishment.   Fortunately we were able to book a room which had breath taking views over the countryside.   Horses were in the nearby fields and  it was a 15 min walk to the river Thames across beautiful break taking countryside.    The room was comfortable  high ceilings a very romantic ambience.   Breakfast was absolutely delicious with lots of choices.   We also went for a lovely stroll to Hurley.    Black boys inn is perfect location close to both Wargrave and Henley on Thames.     We used public transport and uber is available some parts .   The couple who run this establishment are absolutely wonderful and very passionate  .  We will return.   Friends of ours have called in for drinks and will now stay now that we have recommended.   

Stunning property dating back to 15th century in a wonderful idyllic location.

A very nice place where you can dine peacefully with plenty of food and well-presented... with a quick and attentive service Posters varied and very good size suitable after a good dinner... On its exterior it has a nice living area next to a central fire and different apartments where you can relax.
