We stayed with Roy&Orla for two days , it were the last two and the very best days of our holiday in Schotland. 
Roy and Orla were great hosts ,a lovely house, comfortabel room , nice garden and great vieuws.

The best welcome we ever had in a B&B

My second stay at Barr Farmhouse whilst visiting friends in the area. It felt like returning home thanks to Roy's excellent hospitality. So very relaxing and once again made to feel very welcome with tea and cakes on arrival. Beautiful location and interior, plus breakfast which is out of this world. Looking forward to returning soon.

Dear Orla, dear Roy, on our honeymoon in October we had the opportunity to spend two wonderful days with you. Starting with a warm reception with tea and cake and a bombastly good breakfast. The living room with fireplace and guest rooms are really super cozy. You feel very welcome also because of the many interesting conversations we had. On our next trip through the south of Scotland we will certainly pass by. Many greetings again to Angela & Christian

Two wonderful days.

A friendly and comfortable bed and breakfast. Roy is a great host and took time to engage with us. Nothing was too much trouble and the accomodation and breakfast was good value. We highly recommend Barr Farmhouse as an ideal b&b

Great host

We stayed for one night at Barr Farmhouse on our way home from holiday further south.  Roy immediately made us feel welcome, relaxed and well fed on our arrival with an indulgent afternoon tea! Unfortunately we didn't meet Orla as she was on holiday at the time, but we did get to sample her delicious seed bread, which was part of our very generous breakfast.  I had the porridge with whisky - a new experience for me, which I wouldn't mind repeating.  In conclusion I would say that Barr Farmhouse provided everything we needed and more in terms of comfort, cleanliness and a warm welcome. Thank you Roy and Orla.

Relaxed and friendly place to stay.

We were lucky enough to stay with Roy and Orla for 5 days in May, and the only bad thing was having to leave! They were so welcoming from the moment we arrived with tea and cakes (don't miss the shortbread), breakfasts were delicious and relaxing with time to chat. Our room was immaculate, bathroom nearby, and lots of treats - I'm not going to spoil the surprises! Wifi worked perfectly.They have two lovely friendly dogs but you'd scarcely be aware of them. There's plenty to explore in the area and good eateries in Dumfries on which Roy and Orla will gladly help with advice. They gave us such a lovely relaxing break and we can't wait to return.

Unbeatable hospitality in Dumfries

Super breakfast, nice room in a quiet location, very nice and family friendly host. Good location for visiting the Dumfries region. You almost feel at home. Absolutely recommended!!!

The best B&B in Scotland

Private atmosphere, comfortable rooms, a cozy living room, even in bad weather, inviting to stay and an excellent breakfast with individual service make the stay a beautiful experience.

The certain extra

It was our last B&B on our Scottish tour but by far the best!! Unfortunately we only spent one night at Barr Farmhouse. The hosts Orla and Roy are super nice and provided us with a great stay. We were greeted with tea, coffee and cake.

A wonderful B&B the Barr Farmhouse

It's a very nice B&B set up with a lot of detail! We stayed there for four nights. The hosts Orla and Roy do everything to make you feel comfortable - and we do! They're happy to help you plan trips or guide you. The homemade cakes are a treat. Super breakfast with everything in it. We'll never forget Roy's pancake masterpiece and the nice breakfast talks.
