I've visited Lance at the Littlefield guest house many times over the last 10 years and always had a wonderful time. Keswick is a great town with lots of places to eat and drink as well as easy access to most of the Lake District.
Lance always offers a warm welcome to clean and well appointed rooms. With a simple and hearty breakfast each morning it is a wonderful place to stay.

One of many great stays at Littlefield

The good things. 
Location, just far enough out of town for easy parking, but close enough for all of the amenities. 
Breakfast, set you up for the day, eggs done to perfection. 
Host, Lance certainly knows plenty about the surrounding areas and can give tips on walking, eating out and other things to do. 
Room, big enough for my wife and I plus one of our dog's, with a sitting area for watching tv. Much better than sitting on a bed. It was comfortable, clean and most of all, quite. 

The bad things. 
We couldn't stay longer.

Last minute booking

THIS IS A B&B.
Stayed two nights. Went hiking on the fells. Walked down to the lake and city center.
Our room had a comfortable king bed, sitting area, tv, wifi, in room tea and coffee.
Full English breakfast,  made to order, in the dining room.
Lance, the proprietor, gives expert advise on where to walk/hike, pubs and dining.
He has hiked all peaks. 
You will want to make this an annual visit.

Lakes District Hiking with Expert Advice

We had a wonderful 3 night stay. Our room on the 2nd floor had a nice sitting area which was nice to sit and have coffee and tea after a long day exploring. You couldn't ask for a better host than Lance. He was happy to help us find the best places to suit our needs and provided a lovely breakfast.
Definitely would go back if in the area again. 

Wonderful place

We had an excellent two night stay.  The room was clean, warm and comfortable and breakfast was as good as you could ask for, just right to set you up for a day's walking.
Another advantage is that it is near enough to Keswick Centre to walk but far away enough to be able to find ample street parking without payment.
We will be back!

Ideal B and B in Keswick

We had a lovely 2 night stay. The room was perfect and lovely and clean. Lance was a great host and very friendly. The breakfast was fab and set us up for the day. We'll worth a visit and would definitely return. Lovely views from the room too and was helpful with my requests for a cake and prosecco for my partners birthday 😊

Weekend visit

Visited with my wife for 2 nights. Perfect location with in 5 min walk to the centre. On street parking nearby. Room was great for what we required. Breakfast was really nice. Would defiantly reccomend

Excellent 

Had a very enjoyable stay with my partner staying in the Grasmere room. The room was spacious,  very light, great storage for clothes and a superb shower with plenty of hot water. Breakfasts were excellent - opted for cooked. Very tasty! The guesthouse is very well located in a quiet side road, very convenient for walking into Keswick for food. Lance is an excellent host. Looking forward to our next stay!

Third but not our final visit!

We stayed at Littlefield for 3 nights over bank holiday weekend in the room Derwentwater. We were greeted by the owner Lance who was very friendly. As always the parking in Keswick is a bit of a nightmare and we were parked right down the street - but this happens in any B&B you stay in in Keswick! 

We were shown to the room on the top floor which is a good size - much bigger than any I have stayed at in Keswick and the bathroom was also really big. The B&B is dog friendly so it is good to have more room for the dog basket etc.

Lance left a form to be completed for breakfast choices for the following morning which had a time to select. There was a dining room to sit in to dine without dogs or the option to sit round a large table (in which i think was the owners own dining room) and bring the dog to breakfast which we opted to do and was really nice not having to leave her in the room.
There was a good choice for breakfast - cereals, yogurt and then cooked breakfast options which included veggie sausages.The breakfast was cooked fresh when you went down and was lovely.

The location of the B&B is great - just a 5 minute walk to the town centre and 10 minutes to the lake. It was also ideal to start many walks.

We knew which walks we wanted to do over the weekend, but over breakfast Lance was full of tips and very knowledgeable about different walks. If you weren't sure what walk you wanted to do, he would be the best person to ask!

The only down side to Littlefield Guesthouse was that there was a distinctive dog smell in the entrance hallway - it wasn't horrendous and wasn't in the rooms or dining room but it isn't the best welcome. There were also a few stains on the bedroom carpet, which i suppose come with dog friendly rooms. Again this wasn't horrendous and it wouldnt stop me from returning.

I would recommend Littlefield Guesthouse to others looking for somewhere to stay in Keswick and would return.

Good location, Great host

We had an all too brief 3 night stay in this independent Guest House. Our Ensuite top floor room “Derwentwater” was very comfortable with an excellent king size bed, 2 chairs and views of the mountains from the bathroom window. 
Everything needed was provided, including a fridge on the landing (shared by all guests), DVD player (useful in case of rain) and well supplied beverage and biscuits tray. 
The welcome was warm and friendly without being intrusive and the breakfasts were well cooked and quality ingredients. 
The location is excellent and has parking for 2 medium sized cars at the rear. 
Definitely a place to return to.
