Apparently Desboroughs last pub !!
This was a short notice stay while builders are in ! 
Rooms are small, basic and a bit tired but clean, cheap and all the staff were brilliant, very helpful. It’s a lovely old pub and seems to do ok at the weekends but should be a goldmine ! All looks a bit tired and needs freshening up ! Nothing major just repainting new carpets and new bedroom furniture 
Breakfast was ok but the lunch menus didn’t inspire me to stay, there’s to many nicer places to eat not far away 

Overall

Great value, great location, basic  and ok with lovely staff but could be a goldmine ! Should be listed as a community asset and potentially bought by locals like the Lilacs in Isham !

Budget stop

Desborough only has one pub - The George. Friendly staff, good food, nice customers - a proper boozer. Also, juke box,  pool table and darts. (Breakfast is available early am to punters). Would recommend a visit.

Proper Boozer

I made a 2 night booking directly with this hotel in February, they confirmed my booking. When I arrived I was told that there was no room available, they had taken a booking from booking.com that apparently took priority over mine. I have travelled from Spain and was not offered any help in finding alternative accommodation, just a half hearted apology. Poor/ non existent customer service. Not the correct way to treat customers, will not be bothering them again.

Double booked

Great value accommodation, the staff are very friendly and helpful, rooms are a little bit dated but are clean and the bed and pillows were very comfortable. Tea / coffee making facilities in the room. Unfortunately no food was available in the evening but plenty of food outlets nearby 
Breakfast was great.

Great value inn

A pleasant pub in the centre Of Desborough, that gets very full. We were there for a wake and we were in a separate room. The food was fine as were the staff. With outside areas and some parking it is very popular.

Stayed here for two nights in January. The land lady and her staff provide an excellent service all round. The rooms are well appointment, clean with all the mod cons. The food is traditional home baking which is to die for. The pub itself is modern with a new dining area. I’m not from the area, but the staff and locals make you very welcome. 

Hope to stay again soon.

Excellent Value all round

I stayed in a single room which was about £35 for the night. When I arrived at the pub I was disappointed to find there was no parking spaces despite selecting the option for free on site parking when booking. When I went into the pub I was a little disappointed to be honest, I did expect a little more after reading other reviews. The room was clean but very dated and basic. There was a very small tv on top of the wardrobe and there was tea and coffee facilities. It was quite noisy - sound from the pub and other guests. I left early morning though the rear entrance, there is a concrete staircase and a timer light - only issue is it turned off when I was half way down the stairs. I did sleep well and the room was cheap, so I can’t fault that... you get what you pay for.

Cheap.... but you get what you pay for!

We only planned to stay one night as a stop off over night and continue to our destination the next day . We knew it was cheap and you had to pay £5 each extra for breakfast which was good value . The room was very basic but clean , the only problem being it overlooked the pub garden/ outside area, enough said the only pub in town and all the locals gather there and are drinking from 2pm till midnight and are very loud, hence very little sleep. To be fair in the cold winter months it probably won't happen as they would be inside, but with nigh on 30° their all outside.

Cheap , cheerful Noisey

Cracking Sunday dinner, nice atmosphere, very clean and good for viewing sports.
Also offers a very good bed and breakfast.
Plenty of amenities around the town and very near to Rothwell and Market Harborough
