Very comfortable stay and friendly staff made this a lovely two-night break. And an excellent location in the lovely village of Ditchling. Breakfasts were brilliant and set us up for our days of walking the South Downs, which we could do from the Hotel.

We had a wonderful couple of nights. The food is top notch and the staff couldn’t do enough for us.  Our room was very comfortable with some quirky design and a well stocked minibar.  Great location for trip to Brighton or a stomp on the downs and for the arty types, the Ditching museum is well worth a visit.

We only stayed for one night but the experience was perfect. We ( and all
our friends) had to check- in early
and the team worked wonders and managed to get us all in with plenty of time for the wedding - it was so much appreciated!! The lunch was lovely - amazing service  and quick turnaround. The room was large with very comfy bed and so many good snacks and drinks selection for the mini-bar. As it was bed and breakfast , we got to enjoy the most delicious full English the next morning , along with best coffee!! Easy check in and out, no probs with parking . Everything was idyllic! Hope we can come again ❤️

Stunning setting with luxury touches - great B&B

Staying at this hotel/pub was delightful & so cosy with the log fire, full of atmosphere &  the bedroom was full of character.  The hosts & staff were welcoming & friendly & the meals we had were delicious.  Looking forward to our next visit coming up in June.

We had a wonderful stay at the Bull.  We had been walking the south downs way and the hotel was perfect - lovely cosy rooms with extremely comfortable king size bed, warm and welcoming staff, fantastic food.  The ideal place to rest after a long walk on the downs.

Perfect!

A stay at The Bull at Ditchling is to be recommended. Last year, with tickets for Glyndebourne - a new experience - we needed a base for before and after the performance. Friends in the know suggested The Bull and it proved ideal; only a twenty minute drive away, with super-comfortable beds and cheerful, helpful staff. Nothing was too much trouble, even down to chilling our freezer blocks for the obligatory picnic basket.
But this year they truly surpassed themselves. After our drive back home to Bath we were horrified to realise that we had managed to leave our Glyndebourne glad rags hanging in their wardrobe. We were preparing ourselves for the long round trip to collect my husband’s dinner suit and my vintage Ghost outfit. But when we rang, Deputy Manager, Phil Chrimes, was already organising their return. Lovely Philomena, breakfast queen, packed the items, posted them and they arrived next day. And Phil was adamant that we shouldn’t pay the postage. All part of the service! 
If that doesn’t make you want to stay at The Bull, I don’t know what would.

Great room, charming atmosphere, lovely staff and a superb breakfast!   Late access was also really easy.  Shame i wasn't able to spend longer there due to work.  Check about car parking if returning late as they lock the entrance.

Perfect

The room was large, comfortable well furnished and had everything we needed, including a very well stocked mini bar. The bathroom and shower had plenty of space. The bed was comfortable. The room was quiet also. The access stairs are however very steep and difficult.
The staff were very good, check in was easy.  We ate at the pub and both the food and wine were very good.  The outside beer garden was also a great place to sit both in the afternoon and evening.

A great find

Our room and ensuite were very comfortable and spotless with great selection of snacks etc.  Staff too were extremely friendly and couldn’t do enough to ensure our stay was perfect.  Ditchling itself was very interesting with museum and beautiful 11th century church where Vera Lynn is buried.

Perfect stay

Room 3 was stylishly decorated but very cramped. We had nowhere to put our suitcases and the cushions/throw dressing the bed made the tiny floor space even more cluttered when removing them at bedtime! There was no room for a chair or table and the lack of surface area was irritating. Whilst it is lovely to have a coffee machine and a tea-making station, as well as two baskets of optional snacks/spirits from the honesty bar, it meant the only available surface was fully occupied and everything had to be moved off to accommodate the fan, it being stifling. The sash window would only open a very limited distance and it was really uncomfortable in there! Having said that, the bed and bedding were great and would have been perfect for a cosy winter stay! The en suite was also lovely. Only issue was that it happened to be 30• outside and hotter inside!
