Travelling to North Wales coast with hubby and dog. I usually book the accommodation but on this occasion Mr H did it. Result! We totally lucked out with a friendly, Mary Poppins....... practically perfect in every way. 

Location certainly could not have been better. Bedroom on the ground floor with immediate access to the great outdoors for doggo. The owners were welcoming, informative about the area and places to visit/eat/swim/walk and there was the best b&b breakfast I’ve ever eaten. 

Ideally sited for trips to Fairbourne, Barmouth, Snowdonia and Dolgellau; and best of all walking across the toll bridge for supper at the George lll pub, right on the river  

Would definitely recommend and indeed visit again

Perfect location

Sort of stayed here by a very happy accident; the Showman’s Wagon is a self-catering facility in the grounds of Coed-Cae Bed & Breakfast. The smallest details reflect empathy with the needs of any traveller at any time of the year
On arrival there was a little doggy welcome pack with a special mat, water bowl, a jar of treats and a towel (for after those muddy, sandy walks!)
Us humans were provided with bottle of fresh milk in the fridge, tea bags, coffee and sugar as well as a bottle of ice cold water which meant we could have a drink before unloading the car
NB-Beware the gas hob kettle-the handle gets hot and the silicone sheath which is provided to prevent burning tends to slip so we removed it and held the kettle handle with a tea-towel (provided)
A fenced and gated enclosure offers privacy and garden space as well as ensuring dogs don’t go a-wandering; fairy lights come on in the evening adding sparkle 
The wagon was spotlessly clean and had a lovely cosy warmth about it; the peace of the outdoor environment provides a feeling of escape from a busy world outside! 
Storage has been carefully considered given the limited space, with wooden boxes for crockery, cutlery, storage pots and cleaning paraphernalia; cups hang from hooks and other items are hung or kept on a little shelf above the kitchen area; for those of us (like me) who are vertically challenged a set of folding steps is available under the worktop! Told you they'd thought of everything!
Bed is supercomfortable and there's dragon hot water bottles for chilly nights!
Shower was good and hot and towels were provided; power points aplenty including usb ports and a shaver socket!So many little touches such as binoculars, first aid kit, a barbecue, fat balls for the birds, trail maps...the list is endless! 
We love 'different' and this place didn't fail to deliver!

A little bit of lovely!

We had a thoroughly enjoyable & relaxing time at Coed Cae this weekend; everything you could possibly wish from a B&B and more. The house itself embodied the spirit of Snowdonia & the Welsh countryside - full of oak-beams, log-burners, tasteful wooden furniture & dozens of books about the local area.  Our room & private bathroom was spotless & it just felt like a really homely & snug place to relax in the communal areas (lounge/dining room) after a day of exploring the surroundings. 

Jacky & two dogs (Tess & Kip) were wonderful hosts (the latter two being particularly keen for a game of tug!) & the home-cooked food was a particular highlight.  We were able to try from a range of different & equally delicious breakfasts each morning - inc locally-sourced jams, bacon, sausages, eggs etc (plus tea/coffee, juice, porridge, cereals etc)  We also enjoyed an evening meal & packed lunch here, both of which were excellent. Coed Cae's meals & overall service was significantly better than that found at the local pub (George III), and Jackie's home-made crumble & cake were amazing!        

Its obviously a really great location & we were able to make the most of the beautiful Mawddach Trail, around Barmouth beach, Harlech castle, several local panorama viewpoints of the estuary/mountains plus a hike up Cadair Idris, all of which were just a short drive away.  Our only regret was having to come home so soon!!

Don't come here if you were looking for soulless hotel uniformity & rely on mod cons like high-speed wifi all the time - but do come here if you like exploring the great outdoors & want a slice of real Welsh countryside life.   

We couldn't have asked for a more comfortable, friendly & cozy stay - so thank you very much Jacky, Graham & dogs!

Homely & relaxing 3-night stay at Coed Cae

We stayed for four nights and enjoyed it very much.  Our room on the ground floor was rather small for two people and a dog but there was a walk in cupboard to store all our stuff so we managed fine.  The shower room (no bath) was extremely clean with nice toiletries.  Double bed was very comfortable.  The tea and coffee tray was well stocked, with fresh milk on request and lovely toffee waffles - and a bonio for the dog.  Wi-fi worked well but it was rather tedious having to log in each and every time you wanted to go online.  Lounge/dining room is directly above our room so there was some noise from people having earlier breakfasts than us, but as breakfast time is only 8-9am this wasn't really a problem.  The rules and regulations about dogs seemed a bit excessive (given that the resident two collies had free run of the house) but were probably sensible and well meant.  The woodland garden is lovely with a beautiful view (from the smoking area) through the trees right down to the estuary.  We loved the laser light show in the trees at night - and are going to buy some for our garden at home!  Breakfast was really excellent - lovely quality sausages and bacon, delicious scrambled eggs with smoked salmon and homemade jam and marmalade.

A very well run B&B in a beautiful location

After a day of zip lining and mountain climbing, this cosy B&B was exactly what we needed.  A warm welcome from Jacky who showed us around and reassured us we weren't the first to come down the wrong side of Cadair Idris!  We had booked last minute and had a twin room, comfortable and a good assortment of tea and biscuits!  Lovely bathroom with nice smellies!  
Breakfast was the shining star, lovely porridge and great cooked breakfast, it was obvious that good quality ingredients are used, especially the bacon and sausage.  Mean scrambled eggs and fried bread!  I loved little personalised touches like 'Graham's Mum's Marmalade and home-made granola.  We were a mixed bunch around the breakfast table but one thing we all had in common was that we were loving our time in Wales so it was fab to swap stories and chat.
I'd love to go back in Winter when the log burner is fired up and I could sit and read one of the hundreds of random books adorning the shelves!

Fab Attention to Detail!

We stayed two night at Coed Cae, for my wife’s birthday. It’s exactly as the website describes quirky B&B, lovely house and room (very clean), great setting. When I booked the owner Jacky was really helpful, suggested a number of local restaurants to check out, all of which were great (try Bistro Bermo in Barmouth, fantastic). The B&B is a great base for getting out and about to explore, a short walk to the George III pub (over the toll bridge, only 20p for pedestrians) and a 40 minutes walk down the old railway line to Dolgellau. Barmouth is a 10 minute drive or you can get out to Harlech and see the castle (30 minute drive). As if that wasn’t enough they have two fab dogs!

Great stay, lovely people, fantastic breakfast.

this was our 4th time at this gorgeous b&b,its so relaxed its like staying at someones house...which it is really.lovely room (family room)...gorgeous handwash shampoo and showergel piping hot water for your morning shower....lovely breakfast...peaceful out of the way with stunning views ,and i still love the dogs just as much as before!,oh Jacky i ment to ask where you had your fab lightshow from outside....we came back and looked up and i thought i was tripping !!! lol...love it .thankyou for another lovely stay ,Liz..Julian..James x
