We booked into cottage plas y nant from 16th sept to 23rd.We only stayed for  three nights we decided to come ome.You couldnt fault the views it was superb but the cottage was very disapointing it ad a horrible smell on entering an you smelt it in car after.   Utensils was very dirty ,Microwave,cooker and oven were filthy.The driveway was very steep and full off large pot holes.It cost us over 300pound to stop here because of the state of the cottage we couldnt stop another night thats why we cut our stay short.Very disapointed to say the least

We had an absolutely lovely stay in Ystabl. The cottage had everything we needed and was clean and cosy. It is located on a farm with absolutely stunning views of the sea and lots of sheep! Swancott and her family really made us feel welcome as they are all very friendly and a delight to converse with. Swancott also invited us to see the livestock and our 16 month old daughter was absolutely delighted to help feed the lambs on two occasions. The local pub is literally just around the corner, 2 minute drive or 10 minute walk, and we enjoyed a couple of lovely meals there. The beach is pebbly although we didn't see this as a problem as it's all just such a beautiful area and there are ample sandy beaches either way along the coast. I highly recommend everybody to stay here; we will definitely return whenever we can as I already miss it so much. Thank you Swancott for such a lovely place to stay. :)

Absolutely wonderful!!

We expected a studio flat or something like that when we first got here, but we got a whole house! We had a kitchen, living room with dining area, double room, bathroom and a 4-bed family room. There was also a utility room next door.

It was all lovely, we worked out how to use the grill and oven eventually, but the only problem I had was the shower. It kept alternating between freezing cold and scalding hot every ten seconds or so, and there was no way to rectify this, on both "ECO" and "HIGH" settings. I took baths instead, so I didn't let it get me down.

The actual location is great for walking, the Talyllyn, Vale of Rheidol and Fairbourne railways, Aberystwyth, Harlech Castle and Portmeirion, and there is also another steam railway which we didn't know about near Portmeirion.

The nearest town is Tywyn, a quiet, pretty seaside town with a nice church, a leisure centre, a Co-op supermarket and no shortage of cafés, but there are no big shopping chains. And, of course, there is the Talyllyn Railway.

Swancott, who takes care of the cottages, is a lovely lady who looked after us, and we will definitely recommend it to anyone thinking of going to Wales.

Beautiful coastal setting

We stayed here with family. Lovely stone cottages close to the sea. You can walk through the farm to the sea which is just a few minutes walk. These cottages have a beautiful outlook of farm land and the ocean. They are a home away from home with everything you would require.
