Great site very friendly wardens and a great location, nice walk on to the estate and in to Edensor and breakfast in the tea rooms,
A nice and relaxing weekend with our first caravan. 
Pick your own pitch, all the pitches where very generous, the shower block and toilets very clean and well maintained.

First time caravaners

Nice site very clean shower blocks, 
Friendly and helpful staff, dog walk at the edge of the site. 

Great walks along the river and chatsworth estate. 

The site pitches do vary on size, around the outside they are surrounded by trees, 
The birds do make a mess on your car and van, we stayed for 5 nights and had to clean the car and van every day so the bird mess didn't stain.

Overall close to bakewell and some really good walks and close to chatsworth house..

Nice site close to chatsworth House 

Really nice  site, excellent facilities and friendly staff. The site is right next to Chatsworth Estate which has some lovely long riverside and park walks. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars was there is now a very noisy crows community nesting in the site.

This site is ideally situated for going walking and visiting Chatsworth House.
The facilities are nice and clean and tidy and staff do work hard.
However there are quite a lot of trees that overhang pitches.  We were on a serviced no awning  pitch (the only one left when arrived).  It was under an Oak tree which dropped acorns onto the roof of van and sounded like little bombs dropping and one actually scratched our roof lite and disturbed our sleep.   As I have said a lot of pitches are under trees which cover the vans with leaves etc.    The Pizza stall calls twice a week and is excellent, the fish & chip van calls once a week, but the chips were awful.   As we were charged £42.00 per night  I think the charge is quite high and the Caravan Club could trim a lot of these trees without harming them, and kids ride around site on bikes etc with no control.   Other sites offer better value and better facilities.

Excellent site. Pitches well spaced, showers spotlessly clean, staff super-friendly, amazing location. If you like a walk this is the place as the scenery is fantastic and the grounds of Chatsworth are incredible. We stayed here and walked to the town of Bakewell via the beautiful village of Ednensor. Which we’d stayed longer 👍👍👍👍. Upon departure couldn’t start my VW van as we’d inadvertently drained battery and staff couldnt have been more helpful in getting us going.

Cracking little campsite - highly recommended

We were only able to manage one night on our trip way at chatsworth but it was still very special. The site is well maintained and the staff team friendly and welcoming. We loved the park and spent ages wandering around with our dog when the crowds had left admiring the art statues. We can’t wait to return for longer….and the chatsworth farm shop is ace

One night next to chatsworth

A super site, we were able to get a serviced pitch for three through the late availability checker, previously we had struggled to secure two nights. The site is well cared for by the team who work throughout the day. Access to Chatsworth parklands was such a bonus we enjoyed our walks around the estate roads and riverside. Also we were able to take our bikes which enabled us to visit the Chatsworth farm shop & cafe, delicious food and drink available. The  villages  of Pilsley & Edensor was on route, a nice walk around added to our trip. We did buy tickets for the house & gardens, I have had this on my wish list for sometime.

The one negative for us was the adjoining pitch had a camper van with 5 dogs inside. These were left inside their cages for periods and overnight. It was during our short heatwave, cannot understand the owners bringing dogs to a site for them to be left inside for long periods. We do not complain as the CAMC welcome dogs at all their sites no matter if they soil, bark or yap.

A long awaited trip to Chatsworth

We booked this site many months in advance, as we had been before and knew how popular it was. We enjoyed our second stay and are likely to return, as it has a good atmosphere, easy access to the stunning Chatsworth estate and is well-located for visiting many towns/points of interest within an hour’s drive. 
The showers and toilets are well-maintained and the site staff are very friendly.  
An absolute MUST is the takeaway cream tea (two scones, clotted cream and jam) from the site shop!

One of Our Favourite Sites

Great location. Good pitches.  Very friendly site. Facilities were immaculate. Amazing dog walks. Walking to the nearest village was easy and took 10/15 minutes. There was a few pubs and several shops. To top of the 3 days that we stayed, we had access to the beautiful grounds of Chatsworth House. We had a lovely, relaxing weekend
