The staff is not organised at all. Gave me a super dirty room. They apologised and gave me another one. The kitchen stank so also my room. I couldn't stay in that room. I have to share with my friend in another flat. They didn't want to get  responsibility of that. And didn't give me a refund for that.

I won't recommend anyone of my friends to come here.

Awful

Four of us wanted ensuite secure budget accommodation for 3 nights when visiting Manchester. This Uni accom seemed to fit the bill. We booked a flat for four, self catering, with four ensuite rooms at £36 each a night. We tried to book direct with Uni but bizarrely they said they would charge us more, as they would have to add VAT!! The flat had secure entry, basic but clean and well equipped. Unfortunately too far for us to walk into city but plenty of buses as Halls situated on busy road, which was being noisily excavated at the time we were there. The drawbacks for us, who are well beyond student age, was the noise at nighttime & seriously lumpy mattresses. (Poor students). Noise echoed throughout the three storey block, doors banging, furniture moving, and went on until at least 2.30am. :( . Staff helpful, and Caretaker on hand to change light bulb etc. Would not stay again, but may suit party going night owls.

Not for us

Basic, clean student room in halls of residence available during Summer vacation via Late Rooms.£30 a night.Rooms have en suite shower. No TV, or fridge. No hangers in cupboards either. 

I thought there was a communal kitchen but I did not find it in my two night stay. Fob and key access.

Bus to centre across road. Last bus back about 11:15 pm.

Tesco metro and fried chicken place very near; other shops a short walk away. Would use it again.

Sound choice if you are on a budget

Seen it advertised on Laterooms while checking out hotel prices and availability so contacted them direct.  Jude replied to all emails speedily and no problems encountered during the booking and payment process.  Quite a few forms to fill in tho, as if you were a student and going to be staying there for the full year!

We had the whole flat as there were 5 of us.  Flats have 3 single rooms and 1 double room and a living room area with open plan kitchenette.  Both areas looked well tired and used but were clean.  Each bedroom has its own lock.  I wouldn’t fancy sharing with strangers tho but that’s just me.  Double bed is a small double bed, I would say in between a double and a single.  And the doors are all really squeaky!  Can hear all your neighbours coming and going etc, walls obviously not too thick!

Tv wasn’t hooked up to aerial socket although there was a length of cable there but with no connectors on it.  I managed to attach the cable to both the tv socket and the wall socket for a half decent picture.  

No problems checking in at midnight!  Guy met us at “reception” area at gates and gave us our keys and took us to the flat.  Nice friendly guy who gave us directions where to go for food (Curry Mile as it is known locally) in the area at that time of night.  Tesco Metro also in the area, about a 2 min walk away.  Bust stop right outside into town but taxis on the road all the time too.

Basic accommodation but at only £25 per person per night cannot complain.  All other hotels etc in Manchester were charging an absolute fortune as Pride was on.  

Would stay again but like I say, only if I had booked the whole flat…wouldn’t want to be sharing with strangers.
