The rooms are basic and comfortable and have everything you need.  If you want extra pillows/drinks etc you have to get them, not enough left in room.  Biggest disappointment was the room was right next to the lift and I could hear the noise.  I requested a change but the hotel was apparently full, with only one option being an adjoining room to another guest, which risked being even noisier!  I paid the same for this inconvenience as being in a better room.  I was told at reception that following online booking I should contact the hotel to request room of choice - doesn't that undermine an online booking system?  I'd advise anyone to contact this hotel following booking to make sure they get what they expect.

Disappointing room location

The staff here are incredibly friendly and helpful, in particular the lovely lady in reception when we went. We have had a lovely weekend away to help us wedding plan. The breakfasts were lovely also, really hot and were quick to be served.

I want to commend the staff at this Premier Inn, They were absolutely wonderful ! They were very very kind, caring and always available, nothing was too much trouble, but most of all a welcoming and friendly face to come back to after many trips backwards and forwards to the hospital over the road. I hope they get some sort of award for being so wonderful.

Wonderful Staff !

Friendly and helpful staff on Reception and in the Restaurant. Room clean & tidy. Tea, coffee & milk readily available. Breakfast was lovely and having a Toby restaurant across the carpark for our evening meal was good. Highly recommend staying here.

Friendly & Welcoming staff

We stayed at the James Cook Premier Inn at the end of January; everything about the room and the hotel was fine - except that, on arrival, the room was unheated. We sussed out the heating system and turned it on, whereupon the small convector heater in the corner of the room under the window sprang into life and did - well, not very much!! The bathroom had no heating at all, so remained cold throughout our stay. The heating - turned down for the night - switched itself off overnight, so the room and bathroom were at 16C when we woke up. By the time it was up to 22C in the room, we were off to check out. Shame, it spoiled an otherwise flawless review, but shan't stop there again in winter.

Good hotel let down by the heating

There's an accepted standard for premier inn accomodation and this room fell way short 
The room was very dark and dingy in need of new light bulbs and a decoration too dark to read broken bulbs couldn't be replaced by reception 
The breakfast was basic but well cooked but very basic and is served to you so you can't have extra if needed

Disappointing for a premier inn room

Warm welcome at the front desk, simple check in process. Room was spotlessly clean and everything worked fine. I had to spend another £5 on the premium wifi as the standard service was too weak. Location was quiet even though my room overlooked the car park. I always get a good sleep at Premier and their beds are incredibly comfortable. Excellent full English breakfast in the morning.

Overnight business trip

We stayed at the Middlesbrough Central Premier Inn as we were visiting family and needed somewhere cost effective to stay. We were incredibly pleased with the quality of the hotel and the value for money it offered. The car park was free, the staff were friendly and the hotel clean. If we need to come back again we would definitely use this hotel. 

Incredible value

My family and I stayed at Premier Inn from the 26th December until the 28th. 
The hotel was very clean, fantastic service and I was very impressed with the breakfast. My son has Celiac disease and needs a completely gluten free diet. My son managed to have a cooked breakfast both mornings. The chef was very careful how he cooked away from anything contaminated with Gluten. 
During my stay I would like to give my thanks to Cath, Tracy and Shaun for looking after all our needs. 
I would 100% recommend this Premier Inn.
