We were unable to get in any of the tea rooms along the Avenue so we decided to go into the Hotel. I asked the lady on reception if we could get a pot of tea? We were shown to a table and a pot of tea was served. Glad we couldn't get in anywhere else. We had 3 cups of tasty tea each. We used the toilet which was clean. The staff were very polite. Excellent value at two pounds each to sit in these lovely surroundings. Will pop in again next time we are in Minehead.

Popped in for a Great Pot of Tea

Great location, very friendly staff, good sized room although a bit tired, but very clean. The bed however in room 12 was like concrete! Mentioned it and have hopefully sorted it now. Breakfast was excellent and plenty of it. Would definitely return. 

Would recommend in these pandemic times.

bathroom not fit for purpose bed hard and rickety not a good selection of tea/coffee had to ask for everything bedding was atrocious pillows as flat as a pancake sheets had seen better days towels awful. the only good thing was the breakfast and staff were good

We stayed at the Gascony for 2 nights.

The hotel is in a great location for the beach, bars and shops.

The rooms are a little bit tired but are very clean. Good size bathroom with a shower over the bath.

Free carpark is at the back of the hotel.

Breakfast was hot and fresh everyday.

We enjoyed our stay and the staff are very friendly and helpful.

Would recommend and stay again.

August bank holiday stay

We had room 24 at the top of the hotel. I  think it was the old attic space. The shower was a hand held tube that supplied cold water when you stood up in the bath. The only way you could use it and get warm water was to sit in the bath. The water pressure was very poor and you could have got more pressure from pouring a bottle of water over yourself. The pillows were rock hard and the bed wasn't  that comfortable. Breakfast wasn't good. I recommend you do not have pouched eggs. I had them twice and they were hard. One morning we didn't get our orange juice and on the last morning my main breakfast arrived before the weetabix I had ordered and again no orange juice. We waited ages for our breakfast to arrive that morning and we watched all those who came in after us get there breakfast first. We  asked about ours and were told '' we are very busy'' well you weren't when we went into the dinning room. I didn't get my weetabix. The pictures on the internet must have been from rooms on the other floors. The younger staff were  sociable so no complaints there. The garden pots needed a good clean out and some replanting. Again the photo differ on the net. We went away after myself being very ill and wanted a nice break so looked and thought the price would reflect what to expect. However it was very disappointing and I think we paid £30 a night more than it was worth. I don't often leave negative feed backs, I just don't review it. This time because of what it meant to us I have and feel bitter about it. We stayed for 4 nights at the beginning of August 2020. I hope it was a one off and they fix the water pressure and put a proper shower in. Especially for £95 a night.

over priced

A well run traditional seaside hotel. Friendly staff, well situated, clean and comfortable. Close to the main street and within easy walking distance of the beach and station. Highly recommended. Breakfast very good, freshly cooked. 

Lovely friendly family hotel, my husband and myself, stayed four nights, in a small cosey double room, very clean, really comfy bed, breakfast was lovely, booked a meal at night, was really good! Hotel was close to everywhere, beach, shops, Butlins holiday resort, where you can buy day passes if you want!  Tried book area times since, unfortunately always booked up for dates we want, beautiful hotel, would certainly recommend it, 

Summer break

Made two trips this week to this hotel and for lunch had their crab sandwiches which were amazing. We are quite experts on crab sandwiches as they are our favourite treat when we can get them. The girl on the desk who served us was very helpful and a credit to the hotel. Can definitely recommend and will certainly call in when we are next in Minehead. Thank you

Amazing

I had the pleasure again this year of visiting this Hotel to enjoy their hospitality and yet again the food was excellent.  Myself and family visited on Saturday night and were very impressed with the choice and selection of hot food available; starters, main and deserts. 

We also had the pleasure of visiting on Sunday evening and this time partook of the Sunday Carvery option - what can I say but "gorgeous".

I know this may sound silly but we loved the way that the vegetables were severed separately, in a dish, rather than being put on your plate which meant that if you didn't like an item you didn't have to 'ignore' it and feel guilty for not eating it and you also had the opportunity to actually choose which vegetables you wanted and how much.

A lovely Hotel definitely worth a visit even if just for the food.

Lovely Food - definatley worth a visit

Very nice tidy clean room and bathroom. Had evening meal which was really nice great service. Breakfast in a large breakfast room was very busy but the service was excellent, well done. In great location not too noisy and having the off street parking was handy.
