My wife and I have eaten at The Druid before so we knew what to expect, and we were not disappointed. The food was excellent, beautifully presented, fresh, perfectly prepared, and really tasty. Add to this the lovely staff, the gorgeous, historic surroundings and location, and you've got the perfect place to eat!  Very highly recommended.

A Little Welsh Gem

Stayed one night to attend party in village hall. I’m (fairly) local originally from Holywell so know this area is very pretty and scenic with great walks and I can imagine this would be an excellent base for a walking holiday. Room very comfortable - bed and duvet extremely comfy!! Nice facilities. Lovely friendly helpful staff. Must think of a reason to come back with my wife. Breakfast excellent too 😋 👌

Lovely place comfy stay

Second visit to my new local. The food was amazing! Ate at 6.30pm and the atmosphere was relaxed. A fair few people in, but none-the-less the service was very attentive. Will definitely visit again. Great to be able to support local businesses instead of feeling like you have to go to a chain restaurant for good food. They even have plants for sale in the reception area! Would highly recommend it.

As many other people have mentioned, it`s the genuine friendliness and warmth of the staff that make the Druid Inn, such a wonderful pub, not only to stay at, but also to eat and drink there too.

It`s not the Ritz, but a lovely old pub, that comes with all the " warts " of an old building.

The staff are fantastic and no matter how busy it gets, they seem to have time for everyone.

I stayed as a solo traveller, prior to a hill race on the nearby Moel Famau, staying in the single room.

The room, was just what I wanted, comfy, quiet and had everything I needed for a one night stay.

I`ve been before, so I know how quickly it fills up with diners, so I`d booked a table well in advance.

I had fish and chips, which was very good, washed down with a very well kept pint of Madog Ale, from the wonderful Purple Moose Brewery.

Unlike a lot of places, the Druid Inn, the breakfasts at the weekend, start early - 7.30 am, so I was able to have a really nice light breakfast prior to my race, cooked by a very friendly and cheerful lady, who was also doing the cleaning too !!!

I wouldn`t hesitate to go back and if the Druid Inn, was anywhere near to where I live, I`d be in there all the time !

10/10 Keep up the good work.

Ps - top tip : Always book your table in advance, as it gets very busy at lunch / dinner times.

Lovely overnight stay.

Such a warm and friendly greeting on arrival by Laura. A table had already been reserved for us for dinner which was very kind. Clean and comfortable room with some sweet little touches. Absolutely fantastic food. I had the vegetarian nut roast and my friend asked if a chicken dish not available on the menu might be made up for him which the kitchen happily did for him. It was perfect after a day walking. A beautiful traditional old pub where we felt very at home. Breakfast was equally delicious. Great quality food and wonderful friendly service. A joy to stay here. Will definitely be returning. Thank you to all the staff who work so hard at the Druid Inn 😊

Wonder stay!

First time here for lunch and wasn’t disappointed food was lovely very fresh and tasty and plenty of it.  lovely proper pub so much nicer than the usual pub chain food we will be back again soon thank you

Lunch 

Ordered beef lasagne. There was about one teaspoon of meat in the whole thing and it tasted like a tin of ravioli in tomato sauce. Ordered chunky chips got horrible frozen chips. For nearly £14 not impressed!

NOT GOOD

Just went in for drinks and a starter after doing a long walk with dogs, waiting a while to get served which was fine, 2 people where before us. When we did get served the lady with glasses was extremely short with us and just said “yes?” 
We ordered and the beer had run out, she snappily said the beers gone so we chose something else (no- sorry about that, would you like something else)  My dad and I thought hm, she’s rude and thought nothing of it. 
Went back up to the bar to order our food and got served by a more pleasant lady who wasn’t sure If we could order food as it was too busy.... lady with glasses then comes behind the bar back on form with the short tone again and basically says no- (no sorry about that but we aren’t doing food to walk ins any more) 
I have worked all my life in customer service and I am always so polite to staff (especially on a Sunday because nobody wants to be there) But she was extremely unpleasant. We all have bad days, maybe she should have took the day off.

Rude bar lady.

We where starting a week of celebrations for my wife’s 65th birthday as a small dinner with her brother and partner it was a spur of the moment decision to visit the Druid, it was a very convivial evening with a large choice of food on the menu, which when it arrived was most enjoyable as was the selection of beers, the staff where also very welcoming and really ensured we had a most enjoyable time, well worth a visit if you are asking by thanks to everyone 

A very friendly village pub

Good to be picked up by the very helpful owner from Offas Dyke walk and she dropped us off again the next morning and we were very pleasantly surprised to arrive at a lovely old pub on a Sunday with good local beers and a full list of Sunday roasts on the menu! I had roast pork loin since I’m not allowed it at home! The twin room I shared with my brother was one of the smaller ones we had on the walk but strangely felt quite big because it was well organised with single beds tucked away in opposite corners. We had an en-suite shower and a bath available just across the corridor. Breakfast was good also served by the owner who is a bundle of energy really driving improvements and a great place to stop if doing Offas Dyke!
