This is advertised as a B&B, There is no breakfast and no food at all. The tea room does not exist and was filled with junk. My room smelled like smoke. I checked out and moved to another hotel, pictures on the web are false advertising. DO NOT recommend!!!

False Advertising!

• booked on booking.com, charged different for extra guest, even though booked 2 single beds.
•advertised B AND B, no breakfast served at all, due to covid? And the war In ukraine?
•left one shot of milk between 2 people, 
•dead  battery’s in the tv remote, although a small room, still had to get out of bed to change channel, 
•tried calling number given, straight to answer phone. 
• although beds were comfortable and the shower was good. It was over priced.
•host was very pleasant

Poor

I booked this for a birthday present and was very disappointed.  B & B, tearooms, the photos show a lovely conservatory and pretty gardens, not what we got, the only thing that was accurate was the bed, I admit the room was nice, but that was it.  The hosts were not doing breakfast, the tea rooms were closed due to covid, the conservatory was full of items from the museum and the garden was a work in progress. I told the host it was not as described and how disappointed I was, they were sorry I felt like that, but I felt like that because it was false advertising. 
The first two are what it should be and the others are what we got.

Disappointed

We needed to find somewhere for a quick lunch. This seemed the best option. We both had a ham ploughman's lunch. It was the smallest piece of ham. It was thinly cut and pretty tasteless. There was a very small gala apple which had been picked before it was ripened.  Wrinkled grapes, two pieces of lettuce, 3 cherry toms, and the smallest most horrible white pickled onions ever.  This cost us £21.18p. Which included a lemonade each too.

Unimpressed

Having struggled to find anything within my budget for a last-minute overnight stay in Somerset area on 1st July, I turned to Trip Advisor and found this unusual and intriguing place advertised with a single bedroom available. It turned out the country tearooms B&B was housed within the Toy Museum! Booking was straightforward and professionally handled with all necessary information provided very quickly.  My room was downstairs near main door at side of building.  Good information left on hall table together with slips to request time and type of breakfast etc. The room was comfortable, no en-suite toilet but this wasn't an issue as there were 2 separate cloakrooms in adjacent hallway.  Breakfast good with a lot of choice.  Owner Marcia very friendly and happy to chat about the museum and local area etc. I'm giving it a 5 because I was more than pleased with my stay....somewhere different that will be remembered for a long time.

Toys, teddy bears and nostalgic collectible delights!

We stayed one night in a room at the top. Clean and comfortable. Excellent shower pressure. Good breakfast.  My only criticism is as a coffee fiend I was disappointed but this was made up for by the abundance of Cadburys drinking chocolate on the tea tray in room.

Only stayed for one night but wish it was longer,comfortable clean room,very large double bed,nice views,everything spot on.
Owner Marcia could not be more friendly and helpful, cooked a fantastic breakfast,
Set in a picture postcard village next to Montacute House(National trust property).
A must is to visit the tv and toy museum which is part of the out-building of the main house also take tea and cake in the nice conservatory.
A great thanks to Alan for making us feel so welcome( How u's doin Al).
Would recommend this B+B to friends and can't wait for next time.

Blast from the past

I visited the museum which is fantastic and well worth a visit for childhood nostalgia. It is a Tardis experience, ie bigger inside than out.  Sadly the museum doesn't seem to be on Trip Advisor. Definitely five star! 

I had a sandwich for lunch and was charged 30p for mayo. Payment had to be made with the order. Much was made of local ingredients and suppliers on the menu, so I expected hand cut local bread. Instead I was given unexceptional sliced bread! There was a table of 6 who subsequently asked for mayo and were given the bottle and they all had some. I queried this with the waiter and she acknowledged it was wrong, and offered me extra cucumber (which I accepted). Who charges for mayo these days?! Maybe the lunches were trying to be nostalgic as well - it would have been normal for about 30 years ago.

I had a very comfortable, clean stay at the Tearooms and greatly enjoyed the friendly atmosphere there. I am very grateful to Marcia for such a relaxing break and would happily visit again. It was very convenient for me due to the close vicinity of public transport and the gardens being so close by.
