Firstly I strongly disagree with reviews further down thread regarding the unfriendly/rude attitude of the site managers...this could not be further from the truth. This is our second visit here and on both occasions have been given a warm, friendly and helpful welcome.... Visitors should be aware that  being 'Front of House' is not an easy job and is not suited to everyone...but not here..
Secondly, and the reason I have marked down is the lack of investment in the site which is marketed as being part of the Tranquil Park network. Having been to most of the sites on the network...this has to be the one that shouts out for investment.  Apart from the amenities block, which I now understand is being rebuilt...some improvements could be made to:-
* Water points: Re designed/upgraded and more importantly...a simple and cheap fix called lagging would have saved all the external water pipes/taps from freezing during our stay.
* Chemical Disposal Points: Re designed/ enclosed/upgraded. All were frozen.
*Some HS pitches could benefit from re levelling side ways...
* Landscaping
Finally...an excellent location to use as a base for exploring the surrounding area of Yorkshire. Bus stop outside entrance, water taxi (seasonal) to York City.

Excellent Location - but a very tired Tranquil Park.

The location is great for its proximity to York centre and the designer outlet. 
In my opinion, it needs some work. The shower block had some great pros, that it wasn’t a push button shower and they were hot. The cons, this cubicles felt like they were design for school kids. I’m not a large bloke but have broad shoulders and I had literally hardly any room to shower without either hitting the tap off or knocking it to too hot or too cold. They are way to narrow. The whole block is reminiscent of a school bathroom. I know we’re we’re off season but 120 pitches and only 4 showers on the men’s seems a bit stingy. 
Factoring the time of year it was November there are no finished roads on site just a load of gravel. No real lights at in the dark to guide you to the showers block from your pitch. 
The shop seemed really well stocked but a little pricey. Both ladies on site seemed friendly enough.

An OK stay.

This is a fabulous site an easy bus ride away from York. The bottom half of the site was flooded, however we were given a free upgrade to one of the fully serviced ptiches at the top of pf the site, which were well away from the water.
Fantastic service from the owners, excellent check in process. The on-site shop is extremely well stocked, with good quality souvenir camping related gifts and everything from eggs to gas.

Although the weather was really wet, the well maintained site had very little mud.

Looking forward to returning.

Great stay - just outside York with good transport links.

We had booked to stay here for a few nights, and unfortunately the area had some flooding. The campsite emailed and asked us to call before we set off so they could keep us in the picture as to what's happening. On the day of arrival we called the site, we were put in the loop,  the extent of the flooding, to which half the site was currently under water, but they have some higher hard standing pitches and the facilities were all open. We were given the option of cancelling, or rescheduling, or we could still visit, the flood water was going down , no more heavy rain forecasted ,but obviously they couldn't guarantee no further flooding. We decided to still visit. 

The site was lovely, the hosts are so welcoming and friendly, and so helpful. 

The toilet blocks are clean with good showers.

The bus to York stops right outside the site. There is also a cycle path and walk into York from the site, but this was obviously under water. 

The dogs also had a lovely time here, and we can't wait to return again.

So glad to read it and realise the staff had nt just taken a dislike to us. 

Tried to get tickets for the river cruise. The old guy In The shop was so unhelpful.

I didn’t realise you bought them online . But a grunt and a point to a leaflet sorted that out- 
Didn’t go back in shop as put me off , there is an Aldi near by for groceries instead  They got all our money whilst we were there !

Not for us - not the Northern welcome we are used to

good location, excellent site clean and warm facilities with good showers handy for York and surrounding area  helpful staff good sized pitches Stroll to canal with riverboat to York or just grab a coffee in the lockside cafe 

Great stay

I would highly recommend this site on the outskirts of York. Very friendly staff, spacious plots with some hedging for privacy, sparkling clean toilets/showers, and fantastic camp shop. Bus stop outside the camp entrance provides easy access into York, and lovely lock side walks nearby. We stayed on 9th and 10th of December for the Christmas market and had the bonus of hot mulled wine and mince pies in the camp shop one evening.... lovely!

Little Gem

A big well-done to Andrea and Mark who run this site so well. The campsite is spotless and well maintained, clean showers and toilets and recycle bins emptied every day with a well maintained shop, the site is well situated for the town of York with bus service from the gate. A lovely pub 30 mins walk away with good beer and food. Certainly will be coming back here again 

A lovely peaceful site. Very relaxing 

Pitch 8 and 7 are not good pitches to close to service area we’re bins are being emptied and noisy engine coming in and out we had 7 and 8 wished they would have asked are we early risers  but was never warned how close we were to the house and the service area.
Very tight for parking .
Good shop on site used showers very clean.
Bus from outside was every two hours from site so not that regular in my opinion.
We stayed with friends so two caravans on these pitches.

This is a great adult only site for exploring York.  There is a bus stop at the entrance and it takes about 10/15 minutes to get into the City.  One bus every hour.  The toilet/shower facilities are the cleanest I have ever seen.  There is also a modern launderette facility on site.  Shop provides all you need and more.

They are extremely strict on their rules for how the pitch is used though so please do read their website to see what you are allowed to pitch.
