Dreadful awful smelly disgusting excuse of a hotel looks good from outside until you get close ... it's awful ..no Bar No food no breakfast no staff . No toilet rolls no hot water no shampoos ...nothing..
 No one to check you out which is understandable considering the complaints they'd get

Lovely drive up and excellent photo opportunities. 

However for someone staying at the hotel this was a poor experience. 

The corridor and room smelt musty. The windows wouldn’t shut. The room was poorly maintained albeit the bedding was very clean. 

The reception is only manned until 4 pm after which you can ring a number and the receptionist will pop round from where he lives next door. 

There was no sitting room available.

Not for me!

Dated, dirty, cobwebs, peeling wallpaper, room full of mosquitos on our arrival, the worst place I have ever stayed in.
Hotel fire alarm went off overnight, no idea why as no staff on duty when we checked out to ask why,  security a serious concern.
I stayed with my partner but had I been on my own I would not of felt safe, flimsy lock on door.
Avoid at all costs !

Horrible !

Probably, seeing the reviews, we were unlucky. We found one of the two rooms not accurate cleaned, they were not reset for the next day. There was a handkerchief and large mosquitoes. In short, we expected better. Nobody welcomed you, instead you must call them by phone when you are there. They don't do breakfast, but suggested us where to go. Maybe is good for other kind of travellers, not for business travellers 

The hotel did not meet our expectations

Well what can i say about this hotel? i stayed here for work and i didnt even manage 1 night as the hotel was awful and very creepy. very out dated with no one manning reception no bar or restaurant. i would not recommend this hotel at all. when checking in my key for my room was in a box that anybody could access as the front desk is not manned. very strange place  

horrific experience

Do not use this hotel as a female solo traveller. Totally unsafe. No staff in hotel at all after 6pm. Front door left open. No security controlled doors.The first night I stayed I was the only person in the hotel with only a flimsy room doorl ock as security.
Despite being a 'country hotel' that advertises itself as a wedding venue. Absolutely nothing open, no bar, restaurant etc. This made it even more worrying as a lot of empty rooms and land but no security.

We had our wedding at Wincham Hall on 8.4.23, it's such a beautiful venue. Jackie Rhys and the team were absolutely amazing throughout the whole process from booking our day until the morning after. They made sure our day run smoothly and made sure everything was in place. Nothing was to much trouble! The food was gorgeous.. wedding breakfast, evening food and breakfast (compliments to the chef) The rooms are fab, very cosy and warm. All our guests commented on how beautiful the day was and how comfortable the rooms where. The grounds arw beautiful for those couple photos! If I could have my day again I would definitely be back! Wedding 

I got married at Wincham Hall in November 2022. We booked it for the whole day which meant that we had the chapel for the ceremony and the main hall for the wedding breakfast and evening reception. I would like to say a massive Thankyou to Jackie and Rhys who worked so hard to ensure that everything went to plan on the day. Nohing was too much trouble for them and they were always on hand if i had any queries. The food at the wedding breakfast (3 course) was lovely and the service was great. Rhys did a great job with the disco at night and the evening buffet was really good, plenty of choice of food. We stayed there on the wedding night and also booked all the other rooms for family who had to travel some distance. The rooms were very nice, clean and comfortable. As family had stayed over we all met in the morning and had breakfast there which was a full english with toast, juice and tea/coffee. I would recommend Wincham Hall to anyone looking for having a small to medium sized wedding as it is the perfect venue.

Wedding Day at Wincham Hall

Absolutely awful. We left and drove 3 hours home instead of staying there in the end. We thought it had closed down when we arrived - all dark and no staff. Bedrooms are so old fashioned, broken tv, lumpy old mattress, cobwebs in corners & cupboards. We thought it was a joke and we were being filmed for a reaction! It obviously hasn’t been updated for about 80 years. 

The worst hotel we’ve ever been to 

Our family booked four rooms at the Hotel as it was near to the location of a wedding we were attending. Only now do we realise that the website photographs are from a totally different location. There was no space we saw to match the impression those photos created. 

Like so many other reviewers we would never return - though I cannot blame the lad on reception unless he is also the owner!

Insufficient toilet paper - no top up available on site until the following morning. We really did believe that we had booked B&B but there was no food available apart from a bag of crisps.

No hot water to wash in the morning. My nephew's shower broke while he was using it - due to an electrical fault!!! The bathrooms were not clean.

We had to pay a £10 surcharge for my daughter to remain in her room one hour after checkout time!

The rooms aren't so much tired, as exhausted.  

None of the absolute basics that you would expect at a Travel Lodge were in place. 

We would never stay there again and recommend that other travellers avoid it like the plague
