Stayed at Afan lodge for work and what a place it was. Food was tremendous very much value for money, price for drinks was really good also. The room had a lovely view of the mountain side, very clean and also good value for money if anything it is under priced for how nice the room was. The staff went above and beyond to make our stay as pleasant as possible, really friendly and great customer service. Would definitely recommend and I hope I’m back down there for work cause I’d book again within a heart beat. Thank you Afan lodge!! 

25 YEARS!!

Great place to stay. Ideal location for the trails both north and south. Lovely friendly staff, can’t do enough for you. All topped off with a great meal. Rooms good size, wet room bit of a challenge to keep the water from  spreading. Stayed several times now and look forward to coming back. Than you.

Mountain bike hotel

This place is a hidden gem in the the Afan valley and is certainly not recognised enough, we had the most top quality lunch served by the best! The food here is delicious and the Sunday lunches are so tasty. Would definitely recommend and can honestly say that it comes in on top of one of the best hotel/restaurants in south Wales 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 

Simply the best!

After spending some time on the rookie trails with my wife and her mate to get used to their ebikes we decided to stop at the Afan Lodge for lunch and it turned out to be a great decision. 4 of us eating which included 2 non meat eaters and we were all very satisfied with the food prepared for us. It was all well presented and very tasty indeed, everyone was really impressed. 
We took advantage of the set 2 course menu £14.95 each with a good choice tbf. Special mention about the cauliflower and Stilton soup which was superb, I will call back just for that! We will definitely return here again for food when in the area as we were impressed with everything including friendly and efficient service from the staff. 
Please include your weekly set menu on your Facebook page as that would better inform us and others thinking of eating here. Rooms in the bar, cosy corner and restaurant were great and suitable for fairly clean bikers, it wouldn’t be fair to go in there with muddy clothes I don’t think, although the bar area is a bit more ‘wipe clean’ if you get my drift. 
Highly recommend this place, see you again no doubt.

Great stop when biking in the Afan valley.

Great place,bit noisy by the road which is a shame.bar and staff are lovely.and both our bikes locked up securely.a little niggle was £3.50 for a coke.and the breakfast was a bit tasteless other than oil.even the beans unfortunately .have been a few times now ,but the food needs to improve,sorry to say.just honest.

We booked last minute for half term. Was looking forward to going on a long woodland walk in the area but the weather was wet and not pleasant.
The hotel was absolutely immaculate. Our room was modern(12) and overlooked the woodland area. Absolutely spotless. Bed was suppling and so comfy. 
We sat by the log fire and had drinks on arrival. Lots of choice.
We pre-booked dinner for 7pm. 
Dinner was really tasty and the deserts were also.
Really comfy sleep and tasty fresh  breakfast cooked with amazing coffee in the morning/ choice of cereals and toast etc and fresh fruits/ yoghurts.
 Dog friendly hotel,hotel was quiet when we were there,just a few families geared up for mountain biking the next day. Staff lovely and helpful.
Will definitely return even if just for the fruit crumble and custard! 
Fingers crossed next visit we can enjoy the surroundings and walks. 
Decor and atmosphere in lodge really nice. 

Hidden gem

The hotel was very good value,staff were all lovely,eveywhere was clean,food was good,rooms were warm, spacious and comfotable.
I will stay there again in the not to distant future when i return to Wales

Visit was faultless

The venue was comfortable and welcoming. The lunchtime menu was comprehensive with the added option of a 2 course meal for about £12- £13 . 
We had the beer battered cod meal which was very well presented . The desserts were excellent too and good value at £5.95 .
Service was excellent,  creating an altogether pleasant dining experience.  Highly recommend this venue.  We will certainly look forward to trying the evening menu in the near future. 

Enjoyable lunchtime meal 

Staying here for 4 nights over valentines, great food and great service. Rooms comfortable and big with great views + very clean. Good location to see stuff.

Lloyd and Lydia service downstairs was great, very friendly and helpful.

Amazing service

Throughly enjoyed our two day  get away.  The food was lovely, the staff were very attentive and the room had the most breathtaking views.  
New Year’s Eve we had an amazing buffet which included luxurious meats and fish, and of course a Prosecco toast at midnight. 
The breakfast has a lovely option with a Welsh twist if you fancy it!  Fried cockles and laverbread.
We will be returning. Thumbs up to the Aran Lodge.
