Super experience at the Lawns yesterday,  Quasim a polite professional and caring host, parked our car for 16 days. Nice secure location and stayed overnight upon our return to UK. 

Clean comfortable room.  Super fresh breakfast of poached eggs on toast and filter coffee.  Plenty of other items for those who want cereal and fruit etc.  most definitely stay again when flying from Gatwick which is 5 mins away. Thank you for looking after snowy 😊

Super stay and host. 

Comfortable guest house.  I had a large double room with en-suite. Then don’t  serve breakfast but instead have fully equipped kitchens so you can cook your own. Good parking. Ideally situated for the town of Retford & beyond. Would thoroughly recommend.

Comfortable guest house

I could not fault this guest house, the rooms were clean, the bed very comfortable and all at an affordable price. There is plenty of parking & the location is great as it is only ten minutes walk into the town centre. We would definitely stay here again. 

Clean, comforetable guest house

This was the fourth time that we've stayed at The Lawns, which should tell you all that you need to know. The room was, as always, clean and comfortable, and the dual kitchens on the ground floor provide the perfect meeting place at the end of a long evening. If you prefer a posh hotel, this is not for you, but as a comfortable and affordable guest house, it never disappoints.


Another comfortable stay at The Lawns

Cannot recommend this hotel enough. We have two young children and stayed for one night as my daughter had a cross country race in the morning. The manager Laura Wakely helped decorate the room to surprise my daughter and wish her good luck, she made a fantastic job of it!.The staff here are so kind and helpful. The hotel was very high standard, very clean and efficient staff. Highly recommend, we had such a wonderful stay.

We booked and was very reasonable.  We turned up and were met by a lovely lady . We had room 1 and basically it's huge and clean and luxurious.  We did a 4 in a bed inspection lol . And honestly it's spotless.  The bathroom and shower were also large . Bed was comfy.  Can not fault our stay . We checked out at. 11am and left the car for an hour to go for breakfast . Smooth from start to finish.  Oh and has 2 well equipped kitchens see the photos . Thank you We will be back 

Lovely room and stay 

Beautiful large room with lots of storage space, the shower was superb. Everything was exceptionally clean. Easy 10 minute walk into centre of town, plenty of supermarkets, shops and eating places. Pleasantly surprised to find a well appointed kitchen with use of fridge, washer, cooker, microwave, crockery and cutlery. Good sized table and chairs. Knowing this we will definitely return next year and make use of these amenities.

Trip down memory lane!

We have stayed at The Lawns three or four times now, each time we have found it to be spotlessly clean, well equipped and a very welcoming place to stay.
The family room we booked accommodated three with the single bed separated through an interconnecting door. Much more spacious than you would expect.
My only criticism would be that the room was far too warm! We had to turn the heating off and open the windows, better that though than it being freezing cold.
I recommend The Lawns.

As usual, The Lawns made for a perfect location for our family gathering.

The Lawns Guest House is awesome, from the time that I walked onto the driveway to the time that I left with a huge smile on my face, I knew I that I had found one of the finest guest houses in the United Kingdom.

The Lawns Guest House is absolutely brilliant and fantastic.

I wish that I could pack this guest house up with me and take on my travels everywhere as you could not wish for nicer guest house.

The welcome I received was warm, friendly and efficient; could not ask for more than that.

The room was superb, beautifully decorated in a modern style, exceptionally well maintained and spotlessly clean. 

The bed was extremely comfortable, topped with crisp clean white linen and some wonderfully luxurious pillows and good duvet; definitely aided a lovely night’s sleep.

There was a desk to work at (the broken chair needed replacement though), a good sized modern flatscreen television with all the free view channels, the Wi-Fi had good speed and connection, there was a good hairdryer and a well-stocked hot drinks hospitality tray.

The bathroom was splendid, modern, immaculately clean and maintained, benefitted from a double headed shower with excellent water pressure; the towels were fluffy and large.

The communal areas were also clean and well maintained, the house offered guests complimentary use of the shared kitchen and dining room where you would locate microwaves, toasters, oven, etc. there was a garden to sit in and for those that smoke.

The location of the guest house is ideal for the town centre with its shops, bars, and restaurants; just a ten-minute walk away. The bus to Newark and other local towns and villages stops on the road outside the house. The mainline railway station with direct trains to London and the North of England also to Sheffield, Leeds and Lincoln is a twenty-to-thirty-minute walk or five-minute cab ride away. The house has ample complementary car park on site. 

The Lawns is one of the finest guest houses that I have stayed at in the United Kingdom, a real pleasure to reside at and I highly recommend it to all.

Awesome, Fantastic, Brilliant……

A group of us booked individual rooms to attend a local weekend event. Reception were happy to give my key to another member of the party as I was arriving later; this was a great help. 
Rooms are huge! Well appointed with everything you need: kettle area and biscuits, bottled water, etc provided, toiletries, lots of towels and pillows , hairdryer and a fan. The fan was needed as the rooms are very warm- being on the ground floor I wasn't comfortable to have the sash windows open overnight. The road is noisy so I'd recommend a room at the back if that would bother you. 
When booking, I hadn't realised how great the kitchen facilities were-  I could have planned ahead much more in terms of food! 2 large and clean kitchens. 
It was very quiet overnight despite the house being fully booked and there was ample parking for everyone. The room was also serviced on the second day. 
Within a 10 minute walk we found an Asda go, Lidl,full sized Asda and a lovely pub called The Ship Inn. 
We would definitely rebook!
