Very  basic ... definitely needs a refurb showers were very outdated and difficult to control  freezing or red hot .but room was clean and bed very comfortable lovley cool cotton sheets .....thank goodness as 
It was a very hot and humid night .but not a fan in sight .!!

Very busy which is a good sign, we booked a 1 pm sitting, the table was in a very busy area, there was only a choice of carvery, but there were 4 meats and ample vegetables all were delicious, the staff were very friendly and helpful,  we would come again 

Sunday carvery 

We held an afternoon birthday party for 30 guests for my mother's 90th birthday. The care and attention that Michael and Eva gave to day was exceptional. It was a perfect day - wonderful food, wonderful service. We had use of the entire hotel all afternoon and then carried on partying with the locals when the bar opened in the evening. Michael was a wonderful and attentive host. It made for a perfect 90th party that will live in the memories of my family forever, Thank you Michael and Eva

Venue for 90th Birthday Party

Stayed here tonight and the bed is like sleeping on bricks the hotel room is dirty and full of cobwebs like it’s never been cleaned. The mattress has stains all over it and also the sheets. The shower has mould all around shower cubicle and the smell of the room smell like someone has died recently musky and mouldy. I would of checked out but work has picked and paid for 1 night. Requesting getting my work to get a  refund in the morning.

Worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in

We have tied to book a tble for March but all we get is an answer service. We leave a message with what we want and details to call us back.  No one has called back depite tying to call 3 times.

We have then emailed our requirements and contact but no one has called back, incredible or what?

Restaurant Booking Impossible?

We arrived 10 minutes before the end of service (inadvertently - we didn't check the times), nonetheless we were welcomed in and given a table. The food was nice, particularly given that it was so close to the end of service, and we were not rushed at all.

Good range of options - less so for vegetarians.

Decent carvery

Staff rude, rooms dated, damp and floor boards horrendous, you are woken every time someone moves in the other rooms. It’s such a shame as the lounge and bar area are lovely especially when the log burner is lit. Asked if there was food available and was told “food is not on”. Much better in the area for the same price, next time I visit my friends I will stay elsewhere.

Dismal

Staff acts like zombies. Rooms smell like a cross between dirty laundry and fresh toxic mold. 
The atmosphere is like a homeless shelter. 
Anyone who gave this any stars must be brain dead. We stayed there, got 2 rooms, one was uninhabitable so we both stayed on the second floor room. 
This hotel needs to be torn down and replaced by tents.

Worst hotel on the planet

Arrived after horrendous journey. Staff friendly. Room was spotless. Comfortable and evening meal on both nights good. Breakfast nice, but could not understand why breakfast was not served until nine on Saturday mornings. Would recommend for handy stay, with car parking and nice staff, thank you.

Comfy and clean

6 of us met up for the carvery. Once again it was excellant. Plenty to choose from gammon, pork, beef and turkey. Lots of veg too. Good choice of desserts. The staff are lovely. Friendly and polite. Will definitely be back for more.
