This is our 3rd stay at Uplands.  Good location with nearby bus stops and local supermarket all within short walking distance.  Apartments are about 15 minute walk from town centre but steep up hill return, so bus recommended. Very quiet location.  One-bedroom apartment ideal for 2 people. Very well equipped and comfortable.  Towels and bed linen changed during our 7 day stay.  We asked for cafetiere which was delivered the following day.  Minor issue with washing machine in laundry, which was attended to within an hour. 

Comfortable Apartments

The apartment was very well equiped and clean. There was milk, water, tea coffee and cereal available, very useful if you arrive late.  There was a small supermarket 1min walk away. It's a bit of an uphill walk back to the apartment from the town but not too bad.  Quiet location. The apartments are overseen by the management at the norfolk lodge hotel so there is no-one available on site but they were very helpful when contacted.

Well equiped apartment

Uplands Apartment, (serviced weekly), for visitors / tourists, a part of Morvan Hotels, St Helier, Jersey, Channel Islands.
A home away, on holiday.
Has different sized flats, in the buildings,
in a residential area, very uphill from central St Helier.

We had a rental car, for the week we stayed.
Would be difficult otherwise, I imagine...

Was VERY difficult to find, upon arrival.
We tried so many times, by using the paper maps picked up on the airport, but were stuck driving around in central St Helier, a not easy place to navigate in by car.
Then the GPS made the last trick...
(not always an option...for visitors from abroad, with telecom-/internet-rules and roaming etc.

However, a nice 'cottage'-type small complex. We stayed in a flat sleeping 4 (5).
Downstairs a combined living room, with a rather cramped furnished room
(could have less furniture, with smaller sized furniture, and possibly not a large-fold-down-bed-cabinet, perhaps better a proper good-quality-bedsofa queen sized).
A double-bed, queen-sized, a double duvet (not good, at least for two people), but an extra duvet upstairs in a storage box (no extra duvet cover though...).
A sturdy and good kitchen table with four sturdy chairs.
Two sofas, very comfy, but a bit large in size. Small side-/coffeetables (2).
An under-stairs-storage-cupboard, with a foldable baby-/small childs highchair, and a foldable baby bed. Also an ironing board, and an iron.

We would greatly have appreciated a foldable washing-drying-rack, to be put out in the back small 'garden', space outside the living room.
Many visitors have to travel with a minimum bagage/clothes, if travelling for more than a week, and needs washing up during their   holiday.
Could easily, and not expensive, be a foldable rack in this storage.

A very pleasant, small proper kitchen (not just a kitchenette), with the one thing we in the family loved so much - the old-style wall-kitchen-opening into the living room.

So very useful, and charming.

Upstairs a bedroom with a kingsized bed, and a singlesized bed beside.
Bedside cabinets. A large, very sturdy clothes cabinet/wardrobe. A 'toilet'-table old-style with a mirror. A wood-box storagebox (extra duvet). Three chairs with    textile. Two windows.
Charming, peaceful.

A goodsized bathroom, with bathtub and shower, toilet and zink.
Window. Very airy.

Easy to air out, with the window, and airing windows at the top at all windows.
Though a bit difficult to open, some of them. (Would need oil, and possibly some adjusting...).

A good built-in-cabinet at the top of the stairs, fits 4 suitcases easily, to have them out of the way.
A safe-deposit-box in this space.

There is a small washing-room, at the side of the building with the smaller-sized flats.
Needs tokens. Can be bought at Norman Lodge Hotel, a couple of minutes drive away (or delivered).
Very old-style washing-machine, but worked fine. A fairly good dryer.
The space not very nice, could do with a renovation, but very good to have this.

We enjoyed our one-week-stay very much.
(Filled in the maintanence form, for some small adjustments needed).

A very good, large supermarket, Waitrose, about 5-10 min's drive away.
A good convenient store, Morrisons Daily, just 5 min from Uplands.

The only downside is the difficulty to find it.



Uplands Apartments (serviced apartments, weekly), fairly central St Helier, Jersey, Channel Islands

- spacious room with plenty of storage, good bedding, blankets, adjustable heating - SDB a little old (especially the very noisy VMC when you turn on the light of your SDB, even that of the neighbors 😕) but correct - nice living room, very well equipped kitchen (and separate from the room: no fridge noise, no kitchen smells!) - TRES PROPRE - quiet neighborhood, parking lot, 20 minutes walk from the city centre / foot - 3 minutes walk from a supermarket - all places to visit the island are quickly accessible since connected to St Helier wanted nice chains, convenient driving to the railway stations and very close to the railway station - the 5 min drive from the NORK had a problem, but we had to take a car from the hotel, which was on the ground floor (or more than 5 minutes from the hotel), which was a very convenient carriage house, which we had to use, but we had no problem with the car, which was on the ground floor (or a lot of cars).

It's too late.

We stayed at the Uplands many years ago prior to having the kids. We throughly enjoyed our stay then, so we booked for our most recent trip. We had an end apartment which consisted of a well appointed kitchen, modern and clean as the place was throughout. Nice touch was the tea, coffee breakfast cereal and milk on arrival. The living room had a dining table which could sit 4, two large sofa’s and a full size pull down bed from a wall unit which was very comfortable. Tv (normal channels) and a DVD player.

Upstairs was a large bedroom with three single beds two of which were together to make a large double bed. There was a large bathroom, well stocked and plenty of towels.

Full excellent central heating and hot water, and very fast free wi fi available.

Parking was easy and about a 20 minutes walk downhill to St Helier, back up was about 2/3 up hill but nothing someone reasonably fit would not enjoy. A taxi from the town centre back to the apartment is less than £10. 

All in we loved our stay, it was easy to travel around the island from this location by car and only about 15 minutes to the airport.

Yes some of the furniture is dated, but only because it’s pine and not the current in thing. 

It not luxury but you’re only in it to sleep and it’s so much nicer than a hotel room.

We booked direct with the hotel chain and all correspondence was excellent.

Would definitely use it again.

Great apartments for visiting Jersey

What a lovely find this apartment was !  We have stayed in hotels before for short trip but this was so much nicer so much room and better for a family.   Its not modern furniture a bit dated but it was immaculately clean and comfortable .  Nice touch to leave milk coffee cereal and water for when we arrived.  Morrisonn just down road to grab essentials   Highly recommended and would stay here again if returning to jersey. 

What a fabulous apartment

I stayed at the Uplands Apartments in October 2022 with my two children (aged 7 and 11). We had a great time and the apartment gave us the space we needed to enjoy our stay in Jersey. 

The apartment was very clean and smelt fresh throughout. We had a full kitchen including microwave, oven, fridge and freezer, and we could get supplies for breakfast and dinner at the little Morrison's Daily around the corner. There were also basic supplies (milk, breakfast cereal and tea/coffee supplies) provided. 

The living/dining area was large with two sofas and a fold-down bed on one wall. There was extra cupboard space in the living room, at the top of the stairs and in the bedroom. There was a queen and single bed in the bedroom, and a desk. There was also a shower/bath and toilet in the bathroom upstairs. 

The plus points were the cleanliness of the entire property, ease of entry (the key was in a key safe so we could let ourselves straight in after getting in late from the ferry), and the extra room for the family. Points that might make the property not so ideal for some people could be the laundry facilities (require a day's notice to use), the children made clomping noises upstairs very easily - or could just be my kids I guess :) - so could be hard for people downstairs to sleep, and there was no dishwasher. Also the location is not the best for people without a car because it's quite a hike up the hill from St Helier. 

Perfect accommodation for our family holiday

We stayed here at the end of Sept 22,and were very happy with our stay. Apartments were  bigger than expected and contained everything needed for a self catering stay.Clean and tidy if a little dated furniture wise. 
Bus stop right outside the complex too.
A couple of negatives. The headboards were very heavily decorated which meant  we had to watch out when lying back to prevent a sore head.
Also had to turn off tv by the wall due to faulty remote. Didn't report it though as seemed a little petty.
Other than that great stay and would stay again .

Nice accomodation

I base all my reviews on value for money. The price we paid in comparison to hotels an other accommodation at this time of year was really good. We stayed in apartment 1.
The apartments are a little out of the town and ideally you would need a car as its quite hilly however i believe there is a bus route close by. 
The apartment is really spacious with a separate bedroom, bathroom and main living room and kitchenette. The kitchen had most utensils, a microwave, toaster and kettle. There was no foil, sauces etc. There was a little welcome pack of milk cereals tea etc. We did find a couple of dirty cups and forks however generally the apartment was clean.
The TV had limited number of Uk channels however it was a Samsung so you can log into your own apps ie Netflix, Disney, Paramount etc. Wifi was generally good.
We had a parking spot and there is a little communal garden at the back.
All in all we were happy with the accommodation and would recommend and stay here again.

Good value spacious accommodation

Very comfortable  apartment.  Spacious rooms, comfy bed, good storage. .Great shower (over bath) 

Well equipped kitchen.  Comfy sofa and small dining table.  Grocery shop / off license two minutes walk away.  24 minute walk to central St Helier, 15 minutes walk via Tower Road to 1st Tower bus stop. Slower walking back up the hill! 

Only criticism were :

Decor dated - orange pine furniture and dark carpet.  Windows and door badly fitting and would be drafty in cold weather.  No views apart from other buildings.
