Notice outside offering refurbished rooms but our room was very poor. Carpets stained and curtains did not look as if they had been cleaned for years. Dressing table was damaged on to i think by having hot items placed on it.. Staff Ok but going through the motions a bit. Decided not to eat in the restaurant  but went out. Daily cleaning seemed to be OK although on our arrival we noticed a number of cobwebs which had gone the next day. Not in the same league as Premier Inn which we stayed in in the same week and was less expensive. Disappointed.

Needs a programme of improvement

Stayed here for a wedding. Cheap enough for a place to sleep. Staff helpful and quick check in. Fan in room broken and they soon replaced it with a brand new one.
Room fine, needs some refurbishing as quite tired looking.
But slept well and quiet considering next to A1.
Shower awful, no water pressure. Bathroom could do with a better clean round outside. 
But for the price, and for 1 or 2 nights, it's fine. 

Fine for the price and as a base 

Planning to stay for 4 nights but pulled out after just one. Room was very tired and downright scruffy. Bathroom fan didn't work but made a very loud buzzing noise. Hotel is right on the main road so lots of traffic noise too. Only redeeming feature was a decent breakfast.

Short stay, thankfully.

Very convenient, reasonably priced, friendly staff but problems as well. I arrived and must commend the friendliness ofv the receptionist who was also doing other jobs.However, my delight changed when I was told that the bar was seriously understocked (why?). Beakfast the next day was fine except that there was no corn flakes (I always have) or marmalade (I always have). On the plus side I must say that the room was both spacious and comfortable. I don't want to do the place an injustice but why were the stocks, as stated, not available?

Convenient But

our stay was good , dinning room could do to be a bit bigger and laid out better but breakfast was good with fast service. ran out of a couple of things like toilet rolls and milk pods for rooms was told that delivery truck had broken down but for me stock levels should never get that low. staff very polite and helpful 

first time at Days and not bad , rooms are spacious and in good order.

I stayed one night at this Inn during a motorcycle trip. Fortunately only one night. The receptionist who welcomed me was not kind and not up to her place, the girl the next morning was a whole other story. Although the room was spacious and clean, the state of maintenance of both the room and the bathroom was definitely poor. Dinner in the hotel restaurant was not bad, and the room staff were courteous and kind. The breakfast tended to be cheap rather than sufficient. Positive notes the free but not fast Wi-Fi, the dedicated parking and direct access from the A1, the commuter road that connects London to Edinburgh.

Less than usual...!!!

I stayed at this hotel only because there was no hole for sleeping in a 60 km radius. I found out early on because this was the only hotel where I could find accommodation. 70 pounds for a dirty room, bad bathroom, no shower (only tub), stinking towels (they'll use the cheapest detergent in the world), separate hot and cold water, a four-seat hall and a kiosk bar serving only 2 beers of which one was finished, so 1.
