Awful one night stay in a pod strewn with cigarette ends in a plant pot outside the door, a shower that didn't work, door that didn't open, bathroom door that didn't open without a struggle and barely edible breakfast that hadn't been anywhere near a chef.

Lovely friendly, family run pub.
Stayed a couple of nights, the room was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed for our stay. Food was really good, and the breakfast was amazing! Would definitely stay again, and recommend to anyone wanting a short break.

Great little pub!

We booked a cabin at the last minute because we wanted to visit Sutton Hoo.  We found our room (Hare Room), to be spotlessly clean, with everything we needed for a simple, overnight stay.  
The member of staff who welcomed us, was very friendly and professional.  He was able to recommend local food places and he took us to our room and explained about parking etc, too.
We forgot to tell anyone that we didn't want breakfast but the young man came over and knocked on the door so that we didn't miss the opportunity.

Last minute booking...

We booked a room here as we were visiting the area and friends. The room we booked was comfortable and clean with good facilities. Tea and coffee making and a tv. Bed linen very soft and excellent quality. Breakfast was a full English and delicious. This has recently been taken over and we will definitely be recommending to our family and friends!

A great stay in this cosy pub B&B!

My wife and I went to The Butchers Arms for a meal one evening around a week ago. We did wonder if it was actually open as it was so overgrown and unkempt outside, but decided looks could be deceiving! My wife had a burger and I had chicken, the chicken was overcooked and dry, my wife had a burger and the bun had obviously been microwaved as it was chewy! Would have mentioned it to the woman serving had she seemed in the least bit interested (blond with glasses) we stayed for a couple of drinks as we were meeting up with friends. Around 8.30 a chap, we assumed to be the chef, came out and stood at the bar and proceeded to down several pints, chatting to anyone that would listen getting notably louder with each drink, moaning about work. We decided at this point to leave as it was getting very uncomfortable.
Very disappointed as we don't come to visit very often, had eaten here a few years ago and a very nice meal.

Uncomfortable evening!

I am giving 4 stars because this accommodation has great potential.  We were given a very warm welcome even though we had arrived in the middle of a very busy Sunday lunch service.  The owners have not been in place long and have obviously worked very hard to get everything in place for visitors.

The accommodation was a self contained unit in the grounds of the pub.  It was very clean but small.  The mismatched bedding was fine by us but may annoy others.  The  ensuite with walk in shower was modern and very clean but a bit cramped.

Breakfast is ordered the previous evening which I think is reasonable for a small establishment.  The breakfast on time and my poached eggs were perfect and my husband's full English was well-cooked with very generous portions.

There was ample parking.

The chalet was dirty and cobwebs showed it hadn’t been cleaned properly for some time. The bathroom had mould on the wall, ceiling and shower tray. The smell was so strong the chalet door had to be left open. 
Two packets of variety sized cereal were left on the bistro table and a large tub of yoghurt left in a beer fridge. The unopened bottle of milk at the start of the stay was topped up rather than replaced.
There is a microwave in the chalet and two plates but no cutlery to go with it. 
The new owners have a big job on their hands.

Not as described in advert

As soon as I arrived and entered the room, I immediately noticed the grime around the skirting boards, ceiling etc. Shower was the most disgusting thing I have ever and mirrors hadn’t had a clean in at least 5 months. Bed sheets had big stain on them and crumbs in bed. It was a cold night however the room was stuffy so I had to leave the window open for air, 12 pm at night 6 grown men shouting and stomping around outside, outside lights flickering on and off. After an hour or so, I had enough so I went to get up only to find out one of the men had their hand through my window and was trying to break in to do god knows what. Absolutely no security, terrible service and would never stay here again. Staff knew 2 children as well an adult were staying in this room yet only provided one double- ish bed, especially with children in the room the fact that grown men were trying to break in to do something is diabolical.

DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS “HOTEL” (size of a bathroom, was actually a converted garage)

Absoloutely Disgusting!

Just had notification booking start of August cancelled by Butchers. Nearest accommodation extra £140.
Booked 2 months ago before staycations became the main option and little left on the market.

What a lovely place to stay we were made to feel so welcome in the pub and the accommodation was fantastic,clean and good  value  for more 
The food in the restaurant is superb 
Would recommend a stay here we will book again
