Booked this for my husband and I as attending a wedding nearby and was pleasantly surprised. The living room is airy and spacious and upstairs on the mezzanine floor the bed is huge and had lovely fresh white cotton bedding on it. The wet room is great, shower hot and towels & shower gel provided but the kitchen was my favourite. Not only is it well stocked with everything you need but the hosts had left tea bags (both normal & fruit) instant coffee together with ground coffee; milk in the fridge and a small M&S farmhouse loaf with butter, jam, marmalade, bran flakes, granola & porridge! You can literally turn up here with nothing & breakfast is provided for you. The little touches the hosts provided went a long way & I would have no hesitation in recommending The Stables. The hosts are very friendly & very accommodating too.

The Stables - a great little find

What an absolute gem of a place to stay. From initial contact with Addy it was seamless experience. The Stables is well equipt, offering a home from home stay. Everything you need is there and the village is lovely with local shops and takeaways and a couple of lovely pubs within a few minutes walk. The hosts were helpful - even being kind enough to let us use their garden for the dogs. Would highly recommend and would absolutely stay again. 

Absolute gem 

I arrived on Friday and left Sunday morning. The stables is a lovely little place to stay. Warm and cosy underfloor heating, and a very good sleep in a king size bed. Shame l didn't have much time to have a good explore of the area what l did see would bring me back to the stables for another stay . Thank you to my hosts.

Wedding weekend

From the ease of contacting the owners initially right through to leaving this was a really good experience. The Stables is well maintained and equipped with everything that you could wish for whether staying for one night or more. It has a fully equipped kitchen with cooker, microwave, tea and coffee provided and it is meticulously clean. 
If you forget something there is a Tesco Express just around the corner and the town centre takeaways are all within easy walking distance. There is good fee wifi and a decent TV in the lounge.
Highly recommended.

A great find

I spent 4 nights at the Owletts having stayed there last year I knew what to expect. 

A stand alone accommodation with your own front door. 

Having arrived a day before the snow and -10 temperatures outside the accommodation has under floor heating which was more than a match for the bleak conditions. There is a fan heater that was useful to dry out any wet clothing. 

Well stocked with victuals for breakfast over the 4 days this accommodation although fully independent of the main property is stocked with those products that you usually have to buy shortly after arrival. Figuring this into the nightly rate It makes it very reasonable. 

Next time I’m in the area I will 100% be returning to the Owletts. Hoping that will be after lockdown and I will be able to explore the locality in more depth. 



Perfect..especially during pandemic 

A very comfy hideaway for a short break away from it all - location in the heart of a small and friendly town means pubs with good food and convenience stores are only a short walk away, and if you fancy a longer walk (or cycle ride) there's miles of level country all around. 

We appreciated the warm welcome and the larder basics, as well as plenty of local information. 

The accommodation is airy, stylish and well-equipped and the super-sized bed on the gallery was a plus - our only tip would be to pack some slippers, the hard-wearing stair carpet is a little rough for sensitive feet if you're popping downstairs to use the facilities or make an early morning cuppa!

Quaint, central in small town and with lots to offer

Appreciation. Of a great week staying at the stables at owlet hall

First impressions were good, even though toilet/shower room is directly off the kitchen rather than upstairs.
On closer inspection found that pillow cases and duvet cover were stained and tired, dirty windowsills and lots of cobwebs.
Butter in dish had been used by previous guests judging by the amount of toast crumbs in it. Basic breakfast provisions. Some fruit and yoghurt would have been appreciated.
No hot water in the kitchen and no hand towels in the toilet.
With some updating and better housekeeping, this would be a good place to stay, but not as we found it. Disappointed.

Quaint self contained cottage spoilt by poor housekeeping

We stayed one night at the Stables and received a warm welcome on arrival after a long drive.

The accommodation was clean and well laid out and the breakfast parcel with cereals milk and fresh bread was an uxpected and excellent touch.

Strongly recommended if in the area.

What has been achieved with the "stables" is very impressive. A pleasant yet humble exterior conceals a real success in providing a modern living space. Everything that you could want for a short stay is there. If you aren't accustomed to dishwashers and a walk in shower/wet room then you are in for a treat! 
The bed up in the mezzanine/loft is a lovely feature from where you can simply lay back and enjoy the distant chime of the church clock. If you are tall, don't leap out of bed in the night and forget that you are "under the eaves" at the side of the bed! This all simply added to the charm and success of this conversion. Lovely homely touches and good choices of furniture add to the sense of privilege in finding and staying at  this little gem.
