Holes in the walls,, dodgy door lock,nano tea or coffee,blind that lets light in,light switches are back to front,no TV when they advertise Freeview tv,uncomfy  bed,smoke detector broken

Very good hotel TV lovely bed comfortable shame about no tea or coffees in the room or milk I am very happy with my stay the rooms are clean immaculate and it is a great pleasure to find such a cheap motel that's affordable and homeless friendly CCTV on site so your safe 

Great stay

We arrived to find that of our 3 rooms booked and paid for only 2 were available and the other had been sold to another. 

They made up an disused room for us to replace this sold room. However instead of the "deluxe room" booked we had a room used for the homeless by the council which was confirmed by the staff.

The facilities are very basic and some dont work. Some rooms are better than others. We had 3 rooms. Our bathroom light was intermittent, the bathroom handle was hanging off. The paint is peeling in all rooms. My daughters room was awful and we did not use it. Her bedroom window did not close even at the end of October when cold; The light on the stairway (with no windows) did not work, so the stairs were total darkness; The shower did not work and was hanging off the wall with bare wires; The tv was missing, The carpet was totally disgusting and was covered in so many stains that you didn't want to take your shoes off; Basic kitchen facilities are missing eg no bowls (had to use a lunch box to eat our cereal), other guests are loud and disrepectful... Hairs in the sink and shower; Skid marks in the toilet; Sheets are un-ironed (but a minor point considering); Communal kitchens are a disgrace and not fit for use, microwave disgusting, grease everywhere. No natural light in our room as the blind would not go up, however in another room there was no blind at all, so the light came in the room very early. We only wanted somewhere comfortable to sleep, the location was not so important, however if this is important you need to know this is on a forecourt of a petrol station. The firedoor which said to keep closed, was propped open with the fire extinguisher, which not only meant the door was not closed but there was also a blockage in the doorway. I hate having to leave a negative review but this property just isn't up to the basic standards.

The only positives the bed was reasonably comfortable and the room temperature was fine in the rooms where the window closed. Wifi was OK.

Pay a bit extra and go to Premier Inn!

We arrived expecting from the reviews that the rooms would be very poor. The room was clean modern and really warm and cosy.
We bought our own tea and coffee as we k ew there was only a kettle but there's a mini market downstairs very reasonably priced.
The room was exactly as the pics on booking.com at £63 for two nights definitely value for money. We would book again without hesitation.

Don't believe the bad reviews

Booked on booking.com and turned up at this place. After about 20 minutes of us standing in a petrol station shop and the employees trying to get hold of the management we were informed that they infant didn't even have a room for us  

They offered no alternative accommodation and when we enquired about a refund seemed unwilling to give us any. So we walked out and phoned booking.com who were most helpful and refunded us. 

We were lucky to find alternative accommodation and booked into that but what if we had turned up at 9pm? What if we couldn't find alternative accomodation? What if we were an older couple dumped into the streets of scunthorpe because these people had rented out rooms they didn't have avaliable.  

The people weren't even sympathising about our situation I'd be suprised if it don't happen regular.  You know what to do, avoid at all times or you too could find yourself booking a room that don't exists then going through hoops to get your money back.

No room

The worst place ive ever stayed the word hell is understatement and full of crack heads the kitchen constantly smelled i saw 1 person cook rat in the cooker and frying pan and not to touch blood and someone said they have h.i.v to my shock reply get out of here never again and the shop is expensive drove to Tesco or asda nr by

Popped into the shop Tuesday night. Approx 8 containers of hand sanitizer at £49.99 each. Talk about taking the p@@@ at a time like this!!!  Disgusting behaviour!!!  I did question the bloke and told him how much this cost at my work. His response was “well that’s at your work”.

REALLY

First thing we noticed, main door security lock broken. Upstairs it smelled of cigarette smoke also in the room. Quilt cover had cigarette burn and various stains, smell of sewerage gas coming from the shower. The room was dirty. The communal kitchen was grubby,toaster not working. First night woken by people in the kitchen. Second night slept better but at 7am woke up and smelled what we thought was toast. At 8am smelled burning. Opening our room door the passage was shrouded in smoke. On a lighted gas hob a frying pan full of pasta. The pan was black and flames shooting up the sides. The kitchen door propped open by the fire extinguisher. I reported to the woman in the shop who accompanied me back upstairs which was still full of smoke. She said she'd seen one of the guests,a lad, arrive back early, obviously drunk, she thought he'd left the pan on the hob. She took away the pan and rang someone. We left after 2 nights. The rooms are above the shop adjacent to the petrol station. I dread to think of the consequences if there had been a fire. How this place was passed by the authorities I do no know. 1 star is too many. Avoid at all costs.

Death trap

Stayed here for one night on a business trip to Scunthorpe on 27/11/2018. The lady who checked me on at the petrol station was friendly and helpful, but the place was awful. First, I couldn’t see the coded keypad to get into the communal door as it was dark and raining with no outside light, and the keypad was about waist height. Got in eventually and the room was small and cold, and it took a while to work out the heater as there were two on/off switches. The room didn’t feel clean and there were stains on the black roller blinds. My room overlooked the forecourt and there was much noise before 6.00am when the petrol station opened.
I was also double charged and despite several calls to the manager, and promises of reimbursement, I’ve still not received a refund. I have reported them to my bank, and with the other reviews on here will look at getting their credit card services removed.
I’m up there in a couple of weeks (staying at the much better Travelodge) and will be paying them a visit to collect payment or take goods from the shop, they can call the police if they like.

Stay Away From Here. Run By Thieves.

Stop over on my way to visit someone. Clean comfortable. Pub over the road selling lovely meals and convenience store on site!Seen some bad reveiws of pub and motel but honestly it was fine for me.I was travelling to a wildlife centre to visit my parrot whom I rehomed recently. I will stay over again.
