Stayed in 1 of the new silver grade vans with central heating and ensuite. Very nice. Clearly a lot of money has been spent on the site since Haven took it over and the result is a vast improvement though the fish shop kinda charges far too much for their stuff. Lost out on a lot of trade from us 7 while we were there. Despite this, we are on the point of rebooting.

P.S. the little people loved the seal rescue place on the seafront

The richmond arms pub we went for some tea on monday i paid 18.99 for my meal and was not happy, it was the smallest portion for that price, and the food wasnt even that good. Disgusting price to be honest. Will definatley not be going there again

So expensive for the little amount off food you get

Just back from our 4 day break, our holiday home was lovely and had no issues with the location, we did not have any hot water or heating reported this the next day and this was repaired by the time we came back from a walk. Our only concern was the noise they was a building work being carried our and from 8.00 till late afternoon we could hear the Larry's going past, if the weather would have been warmer and we would have been outside the noise would the have been any issue but this was reported. The evening entertainment we did not go too but we did go to play bingo 5.50 till 6.00. Would come back again it is a smaller site but lovely and friendly

Lovely mobile home

We came here on Monday and were surprised how nice the caravan and park are. Coming with two teenage  boys, we went to book swimming to find there were no sessions left. The pool is very small and sessions are limited. Looking again, we realised why, they want you to pay £10 for inflatable sessions or £12 for a rccket jet session fof half an hour only!. The boys were looking forward to swimming, so we booked one of each. Turning up for the inflatable session at 5.30 the team spent 15 minutes doing a safety briefing and the boys got in the water at exactly 5.45. They were enjoying themselves, but at 6.01 they had to get out! That was their 30 mins session over, £20 with only 15 mins in the pool! Myself and another parent went to complain and were told "that's just what it is' We asked to speak to a manager and were told to leave our number. Still no phone call. While we were waiting we noticed that the pool seems to be hired out to local people to use as part of a gym membership after 7pm. No wonder our kids can't get in! Very disappointed. 30 minutes should mean 30 minutes in the pool.

No swimming to book

As I have holidayed with both Haven Parkdean and Flamingoland for the last 10years every year several times a year  I think I'm in a good position to review Haven Skegness. 
We booked a bronze caravan for 5 guests. A 3 bedroomed with decking. 
The arrival is easy as since covid you use the Haven app and they give you an arrival time. No queuing to collect keys. You find your caravan and the keys are inside. Very easy system much better than before. 
Don't arrive at Haven with high expectations as you'll be disappointed. 
The caravan is very basic and this isn't even the basic saver caravan. God knows what that's like. The caravan is adequate at least the carpet in the living area was new and clean. The seating area was dirty with ground in dirt on the seats. These caravans are very cheap so things fall apart quickly. 
The entertainment is adequate the arcade mediocre and the pool is pretty pathetic. No fun pool here. We went into the pool which was dirty with dirt and grit on the pool floor with broken  lockers and dirty greasy water.  Bearing in mind this is April at the start of the season when everything should be clean and fresh, by the time it gets to August I wouldn't even attempt the pool as it will be a hazard to health. 
I've paid £500 to live in a metal box for 4 days in a field. There is limited mobile signal and the haven wifi is only available near the limited entertainment area. 
Will I return no chance. Sorry Haven you need to try harder.

Oh Dear!  Must try harder.

Check in was the easiest we have had. Arrived at the park and was met, informed that at our check in time go to our caravan and keys and information would be inside for us.  Once done this checked in on app. Caravan was just what we needed. 
Tried the food on site, burger King, Papa John's, Cooks fish & Chip shop and The Richmond Arms during our stay.
Papa John's disappointed due to really doey bread and the Richmond Arms lacked good service due to forgetting 3 items on our order and staff not being as welcoming as the rest of the complex. 
Entertainment was great in the main complex, something for everyone. Staff were so pleasant and greeted you every time you entered and left. 
Bar prices are a little more expensive but you can order from your seat to your table and server's were curtious and pleasant. 
The grounds are kept clean and tidy and each morning early, we saw a man go out with a litter picker and make sure there was no litter about. 
My family had a great time, unfortunately on a negative side there were no mattress protectors on and on the last day, 3 out of the 5 of us ended up with bites. We stripped the beds and found evidence of bed bugs. This was reported at the reception who informed us that staff are being bitten also by midges and didn't believe it was bed bugs. 😳  (confirmed bed bug bites when checked out once home) I have reported that to the Haven site directly and waiting for a response. I have recommended mattress protectors and a change of mattress for our caravan in particular just to stop others going through the itchy sore spots we have had to contend with.
The holiday itself was great and the whole family had a great time and would visit again if they used Mattress protectors and kept on top of changing old ones for new. 
Great atmosphere Great Entertainment and Great staff in the Entertainment building. 


Family enjoyable establishment 

Didn't want to make a review, I was told yesterday the manager would contact me today to discuss my cleanliness complaint but it's past midday and I've still not heard anything. On arrival I noticed the cleaners had merely skimmed the surface to make it look clean, the more I looked around the grime became more noticeable. There was a ball of hair and food crumbs in the lounge, food stuck to the toaster and oven, bits of food on the kitchen floor, food in the cutlery drawer, tea spills on the bin, dead spider on the bedroom windowsill that had clearly been there a while! I couldn't wait for cleaners to turn up, my daughter who is autistic wouldn't move or touch anything, I already had a pack of wipes for the week so got wiping the surfaces. All surfaces in the bedroom were filthy, handles and light switches were also filthy. I wiped everything that we'd touch. By the time they called in the evening regarding my cleanliness complaint, I was trying to settle my toddler to sleep and didn't want cleaners disturbing us. I was told the manager would contact us, but they haven't. I've had to buy foil tins to cook in, disposable cutlery and plates. I'd rather be camping tbh. Cabin is making me feel ill. We came for respite after finding out my toddler had several tumours throughout her nervous system, so to start off our break like this is really upsetting. Not impressed with the cleaning or the managers lack of action to make amends. We're here for another 6 days, the more I'm in the cabin the more I realise how cleaning has been neglected. There's so much dust and spills on all the radiators, lipstick on the walls, marks on the doors.

Unclean/Unresponsive Management 

The site was good for what we paid but we did get an offer, I don’t think I would have been happy paying premium prices.

Caravan was clean and modern and in a good location. Only negative was that the shower was very dirty and didn’t look as though it had been cleaned. 

The amenities are really nice, they are new and modern. Visited the Richmond arms for food and this was good, we would recommend. Our little girl loved the arcade. Swimming pool was disgusting I actually don’t know how more people have not mentioned this. It was so dirty, in all changing rooms, corridors and in the swimming pool itself. It’s also in desperate need of a revamp. We also couldn’t understand why Haven has pumped money into creating a brand new park for dogs however the play park for children is really old, run down and majority of the things had hazard tape wrapped round as they were broken. Definitely something Haven need to look at.

My last critique is the entertainment staff. They have absolutely no enthusiasm in anything they do. They don’t interact with the kids or do anything to help them get involved. Most of the time when standing on the dance floor they look so miserable and put 5% effort in. They spent most of the time interacting and messing on with each other than doing anything to entertain the children. This is something the site needs to address as this is probably one of the biggest parts that children most look forward to at these types of holidays. 

We have to give a mention to the events staff that work on the bungees as they were really friendly, fun and made the experience exciting for our little girl: 

Overall the caravan was good, we paid a good price and the food we ate at the pub was good however the we wouldn’t return because of the points mentioned.

Some good points, some bad

Stayed at haven Skegness for 2 weeks while we were there caravans were broken in to,the site is so open anyone can get in open gates front and back of site, it was just getting dark took the rubbish to the bins and   a man was hiding by a tree I turned around and started back to the caravan he started to follow me just made it back, there is more security stopping you getting into entertainment than making the site safe as a woman I will never come here again, also the first week was like being on a building site noise all day digging up the car park for EV charging points and the road for drainage.

NOT SAFE

We’ve just come back from a 4 night stay with our 2 dogs in a saver 2 bed caravan, we enjoyed it and the dogs definitely did. With having the dogs we didn’t need entertainment passes etc and used it as a base. We’d not been to Skegness for a few years and it was nice to visit although next year we’re gonna go to Mablethorpe. Check in was easy. No barrier but a lady was waiting outside reception with map and gave directions. We were in 35 Gibraltar Point which was just off the first road on left hand side. A couple of minutes walk from the pool,  shop etc. The caravan was very clean and decent size. However there wasn’t much storage space in kitchen without moving things around. Plenty of plates, cutlery etc tho. No hooks for coats, dressing gown etc and brushes were in bathroom. Bathroom was great size and good shower although I had to shout for hubby as I couldn’t open the door with wet hands. Plenty of storage in main bedroom but the bed was so uncomfortable. Soft mattress abc you could feel the springs. First 2 nights didn’t sleep much but the sea air caught up on day 3. The living room area was a good size.
We didn’t eat from anywhere on site. Had great takeaway food from Goa Cuisine and De Bao. Another night we had a steak meal after a walk to Tesco 10 mins away. There’s a shortcut if you walk to the top of the main road up from reception.
We parked outside the caravan. We had bad weather for 2 days so spent more time in the caravan chilling and watching tv, I did some knitting. It was good as a base but probably wouldn’t stay again as we like to try different places. It was a good price for a short break away with our dogs. TBH we’ve compared haven prices to private caravan rental and they can’t be beaten. Small deposit and monthly payments.
There’s a dog bark yard but it’s tiny and ours weren’t bothered. Would be better with a large enclosed area to run.
The site is about 10 mins walk from town.
