…the words from Gibtel Lodge’s manager when I rang him to ask for my money back. 

When my fiancé and I arrived at the Lodge, we knew we hadn’t paid for a fancy hotel. However, we did expect some service and to feel safe there.

We arrived at 21:30. The Lodge looked deserted. All the lights were off. Walking round it to find a door, I felt quite worried about whether we were both safe. After ringing multiple times, we were let into a room.

The room had signs that there were bed bugs present. Marks on the sheets, pillows, and duvet. I don’t really like to complain, but my fiancé was really worried about sleeping there. We finally decided we couldn’t risk it, and tried to speak to the staff member. He had disappeared.

We rang the manager, and stated the problem.  The manager’s response was to tell us to go elsewhere. He wouldn’t agree to offer any money in compensation, or help with the issue. When I suggested this was unfair, he said “vacate the property or I will call security”. He went on to say, “go to a Travelodge or a Premier Inn, as you sound like a low class person”. 

We had to find somewhere else to stay, at 22:30 at night. I was honestly quite scared.

I wouldn’t want anyone to go through what we did. I wouldn’t recommend staying there at all.

“I don’t care about your bad review”

We traveled May 2019, didn't have time to review until now.  It's not a bad place, very cheap and we booked 4 rooms with 14 people total.  We were met with a lovely lady who showed us the room, only after taking 10 minutes looking for her.  That is not our issue, the issue is the cleaner.  We asked for an extra pillow for our daughter and the lady who showed us the room took us to the cleaner to ask him for an extra pillow.  He cursed out the lady in Polish.  Since my wife is Polish, she understood what he said and didn't think he was very professional.  The lady didn't understand him, smiled at us and ushered us back to the office.  We never received the pillow and we would never book this place again.  I would urge the owners to review their employees because the cleaner that we met when we were there was not professional at all.

Base for Legoland

Telephoned when we arrived and was met by very friendly staff. Book in was smooth and all our questions answered efficiently. Very large, spacious en-suite rooms. Extremely clean and comfortable. Plenty of hot water and powerful showers. Please do not be put off by the location on the edge of a car wash ( but the guys very friendly) or the fact you look as if you have arrived at a café. Breakfast was very good and well worth a phone call prior to stay to pre-book.
Well placed to visit Windsor and LEGOLAND the purpose of our stay.
Extremely good value for money and we would not hesitate to stay here again. Thank you Gibtel  :)

Leisure Break

Liked the fact tea.coffee.sugar was left. Toiletries was left first-day only.
Good size room. Had microwave and fridge in room which great. Bathroom good and clean.bedroom not bad but curtains and nets could do with a clean and things need to be moved to be cleaned thoroughly in.. Bed. Microwave.  Fridge etc 
But OK stay. Bed comfortable.

Stayed here 27/28 May with a friend for a nearby charity event. Had a small issue getting the key when we arrived as we couldn't find anyone, but we soon found someone who showed us to our room. We had a twin room which was a good size and included a microwave, fridge and tea & coffee facilities. Bathroom was small but perfectly formed, good powerful shower and nice toiletries. As our event was overnight we didn't actually go to sleep until 8am but the beds were comfortable. Had arranged a late check-out prior to arriving with the owner saying we could stay as late as we needed after our long night. All in all a good stay, great value for money in a good location for travelling onwards. 

Good value for money

We arrived at 3pm where the satnav took us and one side is next to a car wash and the white building was called gibtel lodge and cafe it was all locked up i walked around and still could not find any signs. I called the number i had previously used to book. Gentleman answered and greeted us at the otherside and explained our rooms where this side. We followed him upstairs where he had a small desk and he took our payment and a £15 extra for our dog which was fine. Showed us to our room which was on the front with a bay window. There was a strong smell of ciggarettes throughtout the building despite the non smoking signs. The room looked like it needed to be hoovered and there were some old thick dusty cobwebs hanging over the bed and a stain to the carpet on entrance to the room. I feel if the room was hoovered and no cobwebs perhaps a change a of curtains and a doormat on entrance to the room it would have made all the difference. This did not bother my partner though. However i do like the place im staying to atleast appear to be clean. The bathroom however was spotless. We did not know where to leave our keys on checkout so i called and the gentleman informed us. We were also not informed about the free wifi password etc. Overall not too bad considering the low price.
