We stayed in Room 2 for one night. It was a cosy, clean and charming room. The room is en suite with a small shower room, the shower itself isn’t overly powerful, but it was adequate and toiletries are provided. The host as added bathrobes and slippers for use also. The breakfast the next morning was delicious! The menu covers all tastes, and you can tailor make your breakfast by choosing only the things you like much more sensible). My husband had the full English, and I had Eggs Benedict, both were freshly made and piping hot. 
This Guesthouse I found to be great value for money, in an excellent location in South Shields, we would definitely stay again.

Weekend trip

We got a nice warm welcome to a lovely clean guest house from the owner.  Our room was very nice clean, comfy and warm. Even the old fireplace has been kept in and makes a great feature to the room. Breakfast was really nice, proper products and egg’s cooked to perfection. We would definitely stay at  kingsmere guest house again.

My first impression of the Kingsmere Guest House in South Shields were excellent, however, there were some high points yet equally some low aspects of the stay.

The exterior of the property was welcoming and the location was convenient for the beach, pleasure resort and the town centre with public transport links from the interchange a fifteen-minute walk away.

Check-in was pleasant enough located in the first-floor resident's bar area although I had the distinct impression that I was not a priority and that the hosts had more pressing engagements to attend to.

I did not book breakfast online due to not being aware of service times, yet it was obviously not possible to book and pay for breakfast on arrival which was disappointing.

Even so, I was politely shown to room one, an ensuite single, which was presented very well with all the amenities you could require for your stay including iron and board together with a professional hairdryer.

The ensuite bathroom was particularly wonderful, with a powerful double head shower and some lovely fluffy towels.

The downside to the room included not having an outlook through the window which had obscure glass and the television was missing all of the BBC channels.

A great value-for-money place to stay in South Shields, highly recommended.

Lovely Place to Stay...

My wife and i decided to try a weekend break without the car and chose this location because the Metro allows access to most of Tyne and Wear.
When we arrived we were greeted by the owner Paul with a big welcoming smile and the smile stayed all weekend. I suffer with mobility issued and should have made our hosts aware when booking, unfortunately we were allocated room 5 at the top of the building (36 steps). After the first nigh i made Paul aware of this and without hesitation he moved us to room 2 one flight up. Both rooms were of a very high standard of comfort and cleanliness. Now to what i think should be the best selling point of this Guest House THE BREAKFAST, Top quality produce cooked to perfection from the Full breakfast to the pancakes. I wonder how many Guest Houses serve up Eggs Benedict for breakfast ? Smoked salmon poached eggs and lovely hollandaise sauce all cooked to order with PERFECT poached eggs.
The only issue i have is tat the Guest house is at the top of a small hill from the shops but this is remedied with a short detour through the lovely park.

Great Hosts and Location.

From walking through the door, home from home, nothing too much trouble for hosts, everything and more in the fantastically equipped rooms, breakfast was best ever had and plentiful, so much selection. Best value for money ever. I would happily pay more to stay there again

Perfect location

Stayed at the Kingsmere guest house for a weekend break .  The trip was fantastic . The guest house is situated in a perfect location for exploring the  town and coast line . It is situated within walking distance of the town with its good selection of bars and restaurants . There is a vast array of eating places within a 5 minute walk with every selection of cuisine available. There are two parks and a beach again within a 5 minute walk . The hotel hosts were extremely friendly and welcoming to both us and our pet dog . The room was immaculately clean and spacious . The lovely soft dressing gowns and slippers were a very nice touch . The breakfast was amazing and there was a great selection. There is nothing negative to say about this guest house and I would highly recommend it .

Fantastic stay

Warm welcome. Excellent location, being central and close to bars, restaurants and beaches, but also quiet. Well equipped. Good breakfast choice - all freshly prepared. Could be used as a base for exploring Newcastle and wider Tyneside area

Welcoming in great location

Have visited South Shields many times but have now found the most amazing b/b and will not be staying anywhere else in future. Gorgeous comfortable room with absolutely everything you could wish for and more, breakfast was amazing, fabulous ingredients and cooked beautifully, didn't want to eat again until the evening. Sally, our host, who quickly became a friend. recommended several places to visit and to eat and didn't let us down, all of them great  but have to give a special mention to Spanish/Italian on Ocean Rd, Wow!! Perfect end to a perfect hol.

From arriving slightly early to leaving quietly after a 3 night stay, there were absolutely no complaints. The welcome was warm, the room was clean, well decorated and bright and the facilities in the room were well above average. I have rarely seen dressing gowns and slippers in a guest house. The location is ideal for the various options South Shields has to offer including the coast and a couple of very good restaurants. A comprehensive tourist guide is available in the room if you are not familiar with the area. The breakfast option and the bar were not used so cannot comment. My wife and I would be more than happy to stay here again for the next family gathering.

Ideal Accommodation and Location

Wonderful location, 2mins from parks and 4 mins from seafront, the hosts are friendly and welcoming , rooms are clean and comfortable with added bonus of being dog - friendly. Had a delicious afternoon cream tea there too !  There is a cosy in - house bar and the breakfast menu is great. Recommended 5☆

Wonderful B&B on the coast , dog friendly, lovely hosts with clean comfortable rooms, excellent breakfast menu and in house bar.
