This was a two night break at the Malthouse. It was a lovely old Inn with traditional decor. The room was comfortable and clean. Our host, Andy, and all the staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfasts were superb, as were evening meals.It turned out to be a very enjoyable trip. The gardens at the back have been turned into a superb outdoor venue with a bar and seating area. Perfect for a wedding or other event.
The location of the Malthouse is excellent for visiting Sowerby Bridge and Halifax. 

Excellent 2 night break.

Excellent service by very friendly and helpful staff. The specials for the evening offered the Fish Platter for two to share, so we gave it a go. A varied selection of perfectly cooked fish and more than enough for two, in fact too much for us, so no room for dessert sadly. Highly recommended.

Such a lovely place owner and staff very friendly and welcoming food was amazing bedrooms so beautiful very clean well kept felt like being at home and veiws are beautiful we will definitely be back Kirsty And Ellie x

Amazing

Me and my friend called in for Sunday dinner a few weeks ago.  There was a lot of choice on the menu. We had the squid and the chicken skewers to start with. For the price of around £7 these were very expensive starters and the chicken was minimal. There was hardly anything there and although the squid was nice the starters are really not worth the money . Starters prices ranged from £6 for soup and £10 for Tempura prawns.  
The main roast dinner was nice although the Yorkshire puddings were very dark and overcooked. The turkey was really tender and cut thick and the vegetables tasted good though. 
Dessert prices were £7 a dish and we just had one portion of cheesecake.  Again the portion size in relation to the price charged was not good. 
The meal without drinks was £57 which we think is really expensive for a Sunday lunch.  With drinks you are looking at probably 80 to 90 pounds for two people.   You don’t mind paying for nice food but the starters and desserts are really not worth the money.  There were several wet dogs that passed through the bar and main dining room into the back area and although we aren’t against dogs, it wasn’t a pleasant experience. Im sad to say that I don’t think we would come back for the Sunday lunch as it was really expensive.

Nice mains, very small starter

I stayed here for two nights in room 5. I also dined here for both nights, I didn’t have breakfast.

The staff were all very friendly and welcoming, service in the bar was spot on. 
Food was good value and of a good quality, well prepared and presented.

My room was clean, tidy and absolute value at £50 per night room only.

Improvement opportunities were slight and not “major”, had a couple of issues with my warm water but I survived and the manager dealt with swiftly thanks. 

As I was on a work visit the 8am brecky was in my opinion late hence I didn’t choose. 

I had to park in the upper car park, it was dark and a light would be nice, I do appreciate however that would not come cheap.

Value for money

Stayed there for one night last week. Lovely hotel, beautifully decorated for Christmas & has a lovely cosy feel to it all. Stayed in room 4, room spotlessly clean & nice comfy bed. Lovely breakfast next morning. Staff very friendly & welcoming.  Will definitely stay again when we are in the area. 

A great stopover

This has to be the worst Sunday roast I’ve every had. Gristly leather like beef. Rock hard dried out potatoes and Rubber carrots that were like they’d been microwaved a week earlier. At the price they charge it should be more that just edible.

Was very disappointed again ! 
This is the 4 th visit and only once was it good . 
Thought would give it another go as a friend recently went and rated it good . 
Beautiful place but that is it . 
The food was not hot . Potatoes warmed but but just . My pigs in blankets raw almost . 
Was given £5 off the bill . 
Would of rather payed full and enjoyed food . Definitely won’t be back .

Poor again

Excellent in every respect. I had booked the double room with shower, beautifully fitted out, the bed was great, everything very clean and cared for. Food in the restaurant was great, the same good service when we had drinks in the evening. The staff, without exception, were very friendly and helpful. Couldn’t fault the experience at all - booked to go back at Xmas! 

Absolutely recommended

We had our wedding reception here this weekend and i cannot put into words how perfect it was. When i initially enquired and discussed prices i thought it was too good to be true, there are very few venues left out there that are reasonable and this is one of them. The care and attention to detail put into every aspect of our day was more than we could have ever imagined. Every single guest complimented the food, it was unbelievable. The entire team worked tirelessly throughout the day, until the very end and nothing was to much trouble.
Not only does this venue boast the stunning loft room, but the outdoor space is incredible too. Book your wedding here, you will not regret it. Emma Jayne will take care of everything from start to finish. She is a real life wonder woman and incredible at what she does. We will never forget our perfect day & the malthouse will always hold a special day in our hearts.
