Some of the downsides that have caused us to have a very restful night: Venetian blinds that hide no light and very poor soundproofing. However, the hotel is extremely well situated, 1 minute from the sea and a bus stop, 15 minutes walk from the city centre of St-Helier. The rooms, like the hotel, are cozy with very good service.

Well located

Room was very basic and dated and uncomfortable bed.  Very noisy hotel at night, people banging doors and talking loud well past midnight, walks are so thin that you can hear other guests using their toilets which was very unpleasant, not a relaxing stay for us.  Disappointed that the bar wasn't open and very limited supplies for making tea/coffee in the rooms, we had to buy our own milk/sugar and coffee so we could have some more hot drinks.  On the plus side, breakfast was excellent, good choice, well cooked and presented.  The biggest asset to this hotel is the waitress/ chambermaid, Leena, she is a very happy, bubbly person, always smiling even though she was run off her feet as the hotel was short-staffed, nothing was too much trouble and she made us laugh every day, we will miss seeing her every morning, she made us feel very welcome.

Adequate for our needs

The Beach House is joined to the Alhambra Hotel and is also owned by Amanda and Steve Robertson. Who are amazing hosts. This is a beautiful house and is perfect for families or a group of friends. A brilliant location with everything on your doorstep. I would highly recommend this accommodation for anyone wishing to visit Jersey.

My second visit to this lovely hotel. So enjoy staying here! Amanda the owner is absolutely lovely & friendly, very helpful too re exploring jersey! Leena & the other lady who serve breakfast are also very nice. Love how you can walk into town in 10 mins  or walk 5 mins the other way to the beach! Loved my big bedroom! Spotlessly clean with tv & tea/coffee facilities! When I return to jersey again! will return to my second home! ❤️

Another fabulous stay

We booked our holiday several months ago (2 older ladies), and we chose the Alhambra because it fitted our dates perfectly, and we thought was in an excellent location. It is in a quiet road, minutes from the Lido and a lovely beach. The room was adequate, clean, comfortable beds, shower etc. The breakfasts were good and served by two lovely friendly ladies. There was no bar or other meals available but we were encouraged to use the downstairs facilities and provide our own food and drinks (we really liked that, and so did other guests). There are several shops and restaurants within a few minutes walk, all of which were good and the people friendly. The bus service into St Helier is excellent, the bus stop is just along from the end of the road - the bus fares are good value and you can buy a weekly pass (great value) . Amanda (the owner) made us feel very welcome, and we will hopefully return to visit there again.
Wi fi was fast, and free.  Sockets for recharging equipment  were not very accessible.

Great Little Hotel

Visited the Island after many years and stayed at The Alhambra, more like just a B&B now. Great pity that the bar was closed and no other meals, as on the wet days may have been better to stay. The Alhambra was clean and tidy and the staff very friendly and helpful, breakfast was good. Most of the rooms are above ground level so some may struggle on the stairs.

We were in the standard suite. Everything here is brand new and therefore everything is fully functional, clean and very beautiful. The suite is very large and you have more than enough space, because there is a bedroom and a living room with a sofa, as well as a table with chairs. The bathroom is also large and has a lot of storage. The huge walkable shower is additionally equipped with a rain shower. The entrance to this building is round the corner, so not the main entrance of the hotel. Amanda is very friendly and helpful and always has time for some small talk. The location is top! You can reach the center in about 15 minutes, walking or alternately by bus. In a few minutes you are also unfortunately already a moment. Best location and everything new in the suite!

Welcome, but we went for a walk after seeing the room which is a beginnings range and we seemed acceptable for three nights. Problem on our return big leakage to the ceiling and defective shower tap. Nobody has the reception after 2pm so we prayed the decision to leave the hotel to ask for reimbursement and look for another hotel for the end of our stay went to waste because we changed three d'hotel.

Amanda is really a great hostess, you feel at home with her right away. The hotel is nice small, perfectly located in St. Helier, 1min to the beach/sea pool and about 8min to the pedestrian zone. A mini market is right across the street and has until 10pm, you can park comfortably in the car park (night and Sunday free), which are about 2min on foot. The rooms are typically British set up, there is a water boiler and fountain. Breakfast is simple and British (as you know from the B&Bs), for which you have a comparatively cheap but also very cheap and a British kitchen in the breakfast in the warehouse.

Great and sympathetic little hotel in perfect location at a good price

We were looking forward to an old hotel with charm, but unfortunately the Alhambra did not meet our expectations. It is located in a beautiful environment and offers the proximity to the water to the city center and the beautiful Howard Davis Park. But these are all the advantages. Unfortunately, the negative things prevail, we had asked for a room with two single beds in advance, but didn't even get a reply to our mail and then a double bed where you could get to know almost every sprinkler personally. The rooms are, as already mentioned in a 2014 review, very over-the-top.
