We had an exceptional stay at this bed and breakfast – the warmth and friendliness made it truly outstanding. The breakfast was delightful, exceeding our expectations. Denis, the host, went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, ensuring our every need was met. Highly recommend for a charming and hospitable experience.

Friends stay for a night 

One of the nicest B&B's I've stayed at, and I've stayed at a lot through work. The host greeted us on arrival and couldn't have been nicer. Very Very clean room with a good size en suit. Ample parking, Good breakfast. I would go out of my way to stay again.

Great Find

Beautiful room in this comfortable guest house. Breakfast was absolutely fantastic - huge range of cereals, muesli, granola etc, plus fresh raspberries, blueberries and other fruit, followed by a first rate cooked breakfast. Our host was very helpful and friendly, too. Highly recommended!

Superb B and B!

Absolutely exceptional stay. Lovely couple who couldn’t do enough for us. Nice clean room. Plenty of space and everything we needed. Probably the best breakfast we have ever had. Will definitely return and would recommend to anyone.😊

Exceptional stay

Dennis was a kind and welcoming host. The decor is very tasteful. Each morning we had a delicious cooked breakfast as well as a great variety of cereals, fresh berries, yogurt and toast. The real standout for me was how immaculately clean Shandwick House is. I don’t believe I’ve ever stayed in an accommodation that was any cleaner!

Very well maintained and well renovated old house with large parking space in a very quiet street, near the city centre. By 2023 everything has been completely renovated, really very beautiful. The rooms are on the floors, very spacious and very fully equipped, even brick and mortar shops and iron shops are in the closet, spacious boxes but unfortunately no wardrobe. Mattresses and bedding are very good, the double bed itself has gotten a little narrow. The breakfast has a lot of choices, has huge portions and is sensationally well cooked. The drinking water is very good in Scotland, yes, but here in Tain it came even better. Unlord has also really helped us and has also provided us with a free price and a great service in the Royal Balcony, the hotel has a great restaurant, the Bastille Palace, which has a great service in front of us, and the hotel has a superb restaurant, the Bastille Palace, which has a superb dining room, a superb dining room and a great dining room.

Very well run B&B

Lovely guest house located centrally in Tain. Visited as part of our NC500 trip and we were delighted with our room and the following mornings breakfast. Denis and his wife were great hosts and all in all a very enjoyable one night stay. Would definitely stay here again if in the area and can thoroughly recommend to others.

Gorgeous house , spotless & a fantastic breakfast & had various foods to suit vegans / veggies /gluten issues , will be back , host was brilliant nothing too much bother , ideally situated tucked away in quiet part of town near sea with great views

Glorious Tain

Another great stay. Host very welcoming and location perfect. Room a good size, very clean and good water pressure in the shower!  Breakfast was very filling. Various  fresh fruit and cooked selection was very nice. Plenty toast and orange juice too. 
Planning on going back again next year!

Great bed and breakfast in the centre of Tain

What a lovely find, great host, very welcoming and friendly. 
Room was very spacious, and good facilities including tea/coffee. 

Breakfast in the morning was one of the best weve had whilst staying away, hot, fresh and even a good choice of vegetarian options.
