We stayed with grandchildren room was clean and warm plenty of towels etc. Staff went out of their way to be friendly and make the children’s stay enjoyable evening meal was lovely as was the cooked breakfast excellent value for money 

Night’s stay

The hotel is lovely, the staff are terrific.
Unfortunately during this visit, Storm Babette had unleashed biblical rain.
The Brewers Fayre where you would normally eat had a flooded kitchen, so no food.
Jackie gave the bad news out with professionalism, grace and humour.
In such a bad situation she was a total credit to the company and should be commended.

Most excellent staff 

We could not fault the people and team who work at Premier Inn, and as usual, we had a great night sleep because the mattress is just so comfortable. However, the general state of the building and facilities are getting rather tired. We did have a small issue with our room, which was resolved by great attention to detail and staff people skills, particularly a shout out for first class service from Darcie on reception and all her colleagues who helped us.  Thank you. In particular for the very kind gesture in our room after you sorted things out.

People and team-5 stars and above; infrastructure, getting tired

I left behind my wash bag and Jackie in reception offered to return it to me in the post. It arrived the next day.

What I didn't tell Jackie was that there was some vital medication in the wash bag. So thank you very much Jackie. You get 5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐from me. 

Safe return of left behind item

Had my work vehicle broken into. Lost around £6000 worth of tools. This seems to be a major problem at this hotel. Premier inn need to make visitors aware of this problem.Tradesmen beware if staying at this hotel.

Vehicle thefts

Stayed over while visiting relatives.  Unfortunately  the Artic Monkeys were playing in Sheffield and no we did not go to see them, so room price was expensive.  The room was everything you expect from a Premier Inn but the cleaning standards have obviously suffered.  The bathroom was dirty and dusty and there was the previous occupants towel hanging on the back of the bathroom door. There was also plenty of dust and hair behind the door and at one end of the bath panel.  The walls had some dirty marks on that looked like somebody had wiped a muddy hand down them. The was hardly any paper in the toilet tissue dispenser, gladly the two things didn't appear connected, and we had to ask for some. The bathroom fan needed servicing and we had to turn it off as it was so noisy. The bathroom door was also difficult to close without it making a pretty loud squeaking noise. The dirty tissue we found under the bed just seemed to add to the ambience of the room.
 

All you would expect from a Premier Inn but less clean

No aircon but it is badly needed as single small noisy fan provided didnt get the room temp below 24 degrees at night! front rooms in particular were very warm, june july etc must be unbearable. Lots of noise from person walking up and down in room above me, woke me up several times due to impact noise and squeaking floor boards. "bog"standard shower not power shower [craftily advertised as powerful shower] Very poor customer service when mentioning the problems with the room in the morning, receptionist actually made  a joke about the noise from rooms above and just agreed the rooms are hot. No apology no interest! VERY Disappointed and so unlike  Premier inn.

Too hot, too noisy!

Noise from other guests was not addressed, loud music being played which the whole hotel including reception would have heard. The stench of drugs on the corridor I was staying with my 8 year old child was very concerning and left us feeling unsafe!

Appalling Hotel

I have stayed in other premier inn’s and had great stays. Unfortunately this hotel was dated, damp and the room smell of damp was overwhelming. Fortunately we spent very little time there. On a positive staff very polite and friendly. Food at the brewers Fair was ok, plenty of option. Breakfast when laid out as a buffet worked well, some days were table service and took longer. 
For a basic cheaper than the centre of Sheffield hotel it’s ok.  

Damp and smelly

Great service by Jackie at reception desk. Had a technical issue with my booking, but expertly resolved with a minimum of fuss.

Room was clean and comfy.

Food and drink excellent at Brewers Fayre next door.
