A hidden gem!
We stayed in a shepherds hut and absolutely loved out stay. 
We received a message before our stay offering an early check in for an additional fee which we took.
On the day of arrival we received a welcome text advising our hut was ready even earlier.
The hut itself was beautiful, there was nothing we wanted that wasnt provided. 
No wifi and tempermental phone service, but we didnt expect or need either. 
The hot tub took a while to heat. Very glad we opted for early check in as this would have eaten into our evening. 
A very small issue with the shower which was rectified immediately. 
Would 100% recommend and have done already to so many friends and family and would jump at the chance of a return visit.

Blissful seclusion is just what you need sometimes 5*****

Had the best time here! Such a cosy, peaceful break. The huts cater for everyone and they have been well thought out. Nothing was too much trouble. We opted for a breakfast hamper and it’s was all local produce, tasted so good! Will definitely be visiting here again. Thanks Tim 👍

Amazing, cosy little staycation

Had the most wonderful stay for two nights in the Leveret shepherds hut. Everything has been so well thought out with lots of lovely extra touches to make the stay special. They even put up balloons and a birthday banner! The wood fired hot tub is a lot of fun, as is the little wood fired stove in the hut. We stayed in February so it was quite cold, but the hut stayed lovely and warm. Hot water bottles, dressing gown and slippers were provided, as well as a welcome pack with bread/milk/drinks/butter.

Beautiful views of the night sky, and so quiet and peaceful. Cannot recommend more!

Beautiful location and fantastic weekend away

Me and my partner stayed in the Curlew Shepard’s hut for two nights.

I must say what a lovely little place this is in Northumberland. We were pleasantly surprised with the storage space in the hut, plenty of room to store belongings nicely without the hut feeling crowded.

The little stove heats the hut nicely and is easy to use, we even toasted some marshmallows. The hut had everything we could need including basic amenities, fridge space and crockery. It was also supplied with some slippers and robes which were a lovely addition and came in handy after using the wood burning hot tub.

We were provided with the basic wood burning kit for the stove and hot tub which included a fire starter pack and two bags of briquettes. We did however only use the hot tub on one of the evenings and had to purchase an additional two bags of briquettes during our stay for an additional small charge. It was good that these were available just outside the hut provided via an honesty box, but likely would have ran out of briquettes if we lit the hot tub on both evenings.

The hosts were excellent throughout the stay, letting us know the hut was ready before the usual check in time and providing us with a handy guide so we had everything we needed. They even hung some lovely birthday banners to celebrate a special occasion.

Relaxing birthday stay..

Just got back from a stay in the shepherds hut available by the B&B. We stayed in Curlew and I was amazed at how well equipped it was for such a small place. 
Perfect for a cosy getaway with a log burning fire, a hot tub and perfect views. 
The hut has all of the essentials but the fridge is teeny so I wouldn’t recommend taking a lot of food. 
Only problem we had was the wind kept us awake for a lot of the night due to the shower extractor but that obviously can’t be helped with the Northumberland weather. 
Can’t wait to go back, maybe when it’s warmer!

Curlew shepherd hut

I can’t recommend enough 😍😍 I stayed with my 4 year old, and parents in a separate hut, in June and we all had the most amazing time. The huts are beautifully decorated and the outdoor area perfect - we had a fab bbq in the bbq area and loved wood fired hot tub. The views are superb and the hosts were super helpful when we needed more bedding - and very communicative in the lead up. We can’t wait to come back again for another relaxing get away 😍😍😍

Relaxing and stunning 

Just come back from 3 nights Westfield House and we couldn't be happier with our stay.
We stayed in Eve's room and I instantly fell in love with it. A very homely feeling and spacious room with beautiful views across the local landscape. The room has beautiful character especially with the wooden ceiling beams and the Juliet doors. The bed was huge and comfortable, room was clean and the en-suite was perfect. Plenty of wardrobe space also.
Breakfast was also excellent. A nice selection of cereals, fruit and breads accompany a wonderfully made cooked breakfast. The selection of cooked options was also fantastic from a full cooked breakfast (veggie option too) to smoked salmon and a good old bacon and egg butty.
The house is a beautiful building located in such peaceful and stunning surroundings. We really enjoyed a relaxed evening after a day out at the front of the house on the garden furniture. Watching the chickens roaming freely, interacting with the friendly family cat and seeing the wild rabbits popping in and out was amazing.
All of the above only works because of the amazing hosts in Emma and Tim. They have made this into the perfect B&B and both are incredibly friendly people and made us feel really welcome and valued.
When the day comes to return to Northumberland we will be actively looking to stay here again. Thank you for an amazing weekend.

Perfect Weekend

We visited Westfield House Shepherd Huts at the beginning of June and had the most beautiful stay. We have told everyone how fantastic it is and would recommend in a heartbeat! 

From booking right the way through to our stay, Tim was helpful and welcoming, always available to answer questions. The hut itself was well maintained and clean - it had all we needed and more. We stayed in Eyebright and it was a really private space with gorgeous views. 

We struggled a little bit with cooking and may have set the fire alarm off once or twice - This is user error as I am not used to cooking on gas. Safe to say the smoke detectors work! We also struggled with the cooker and grill as it was a bit faffy. We successfully cooked some pizza one night and unsuccessfully made some toast one morning. Again. Probably user error.

In the handy stores there was plenty logs, briquettes and fire lighters to have a wonderful bbq and keep the log fired hot tub going both nights. Tim was then able to send me an invoice which was super easy to pay. The hot tub was simple to set up and get going with the help of some great instructions in the handbook. My 4-year-old said it was the best time ever and his highlights were seeing the farmer and his dogs heard sheep in the field in front. Seeing hares each morning in the long grass and of course the super cool bunk bed (very comfy). 

We ventured to Bamburgh Castle and beach, Cragside NT and Lilidorei at The Alnwick Gardens - There was so much to do in the area we will certainly be back to explore some more and I know exactly where I will be staying when I do so. 

My son loved the finding the specially decorated rocks around out hut and hope to add his own next time we visit! Thank you Tim and Family for such a wonderful stay. 

No place we'd rather be!

Emma is a fantastic host making you feel instantly welcome and at home.  Evie's room is absolutely gorgeous, the beamed ceiling gives it character, it is spacious and comfortable.  We have no trouble falling asleep here because it is peaceful and dark with nothing to stop you dropping off into the silence.  You wake up to the sound of birds singing and sheep in the fields around.

There are plenty of different choices for breakfast from Craster kippers to Belgian waffles and of course, the full English and we can recommend the bacon butties!

There are lots of lovely pubs and eating establishments in the surrounding villages and in Rothbury to give you plenty of choice for evening meals.

Comfortable, welcoming and highly recommended!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Eyebright and can’t wait to visit again. We were very impressed with how modern, new and clean the bathroom in the hut was. The small details made packing for our stay easy, such as having tin foil, straws, cafetière, plenty cutlery and glassware,  robes, slippers, towels, toiletries, plenty plug sockets and hot water bottle, which other places lack. The bed was so comfy and the little window added to the cute vibe. The hut had lots of natural light which was beautiful in the mornings, as well as twinkly lights at night which looked stunning from the hot tub and fire pit. There were plenty places to sit and the views were amazing, being surrounded by wild life. There were some logs supplied for the hot tub but I would definitely suggest bringing your own as more were needed. The other huts were far enough away from ours to feel totally private and undisturbed. The welcome hamper was delicious for breakfast and hot drinks. I only wish there had been a slightly larger fridge for our food if we had been staying longer and freezer for ice cubes, but we knew this beforehand so it wasn’t an issue. It also would have been lovely for the hot tub to be pre heated for our arrival as it took a couple of hours go warm up however, we had paid for an early check in so used that extra time for that.
