This is a well organised,  extremely well run campsite. We have camped many times before but we have never done EHU before in our campervan. The site is extremely clean, including the grass, the large pitches (that over look the most stunning scenery) toilets and fantastic powerful showers. It has beautiful beaches close by. There are rules which let you know what you can and cannot do. It has 2 enclosed dog fields plus a large area for ball games etc. William the owner drives round each day to have a little chat to see how you are, he is a very chilled out man who is generous with his time and happy to help you with any enquiries.  He allowed us to check out a little later which was a huge help, as it meant we could dry out our awning before packing away. Thank you William and thank you for letting us stay at your beautiful campsite.  It's perfect for families or couples that want to unwind and enjoy what Anglesea has to offer.

Clean, friendly, quiet and Perfect Campsite

This is a very overpriced neglected site. We visited about 5 years ago with a tent and were impressed with this site. This year we visited in our campervan. At £40 per night with £10 for electricity this must be the most expensive site we have ever stayed at....however reception wasn't open, there was no longer a shop  and I have to say the man you contact for anything to do with the site doesn't seem to have a clue about anything...
We booked in Dec last year and paid a deposit, when we got the reminder in June to pay the balance we rang him and it yook several attempts for him to actually process the payment, then a few days later he rang saying someone had double booked us so we would have to have an alternate pitch,OK wr xan deal with this. The day we arrive someone has a van parked on our pitch and says he told them we would be there the next day. We rang him to see if we could change pitches because of very strong winds, no reply had to leave a message and he rang back later, yes ee could move and if done one else was due on that pitch they could move. Then about an hour later he rang us to say we hadn't paid the balance,when we quoted him the dates it was paid from our bank he said OK see you next week....we said we were already there! The facilities are rather tired and neglected and certainly do not merit the price he is charging. The winds and general ambience of the site forced us to leave after one night instead of staying for 5.

Overpriced and neglected

Had 4 peaceful nights in my motor home here…..  After reading the last two reviews I was concerned…but toilets / showers were spotless and odour free. Unlimited hot water everything worked & plenty of toilet paper… Yes the chemical toilet disposal is open but no one can actually see what your doing and we all know  that chemical toilets need to be emptied …The site is predominantly static caravans.. Yes I would agree with the description of it being “ a little rustic” but I like that! 
The owner will come around twice a day checking your comfortable or require anything.. I call that good old fashioned customer service and if I had my caravan there I would be happy he checks everything.. Grounds maintenance Is first class… It has to be said the views are to die for!  Yes roads are a little small for less than a mile… aren’t they always! 

Negative reviews not my experience…

Toilets dirty, horrible smell on the campsite and no toilet roll in either of the two mens toilets. Owner constantly driving around “spying” on residents appearing to be attempting to catch people out. Would not be staying again!

Do not recommend

We stayed on a motor home pitch for two nights. The pitch itself was ok with a nice view when the fog / low cloud lifted. It is  very remote but we were aware of this before we booked. The residential road on the way to the site is totally unsuited for motor homes due to double parked vehicles. No alternative available on sat nav due to road works and road closures. 
The toilet facilities are basic and the hand dryers did not work in either the ladies or the gents. The chemical disposal point is far from private or discreet as it is right by the large bins. It is also rather “rustic” in appearance.
There is no motor home service point to empty grey water and we were advised by other seasonal pitch holders that people just empty into the bushes at the back of the pitch ( info a bit late when you are all packed up to leave). Could not make any formal enquiry as owner could not be found. This was not surprising as on arrival , the reception was closed and remained so but fortunately the owner was driving out and could allow us access.
However, on the first night, we did see the owner again as we observed the him driving from his house, to the empty adjacent grass next to us. doing a u turn and returning back to his house. This happened a few times throughout the evening . We didn’t know why and it was a little disconcerting.
On the second evening friends dropped us off at the site , parked in the main car park and joined us for a quick drink. Within five minutes , the owner and another man appeared in their vehicle and asked about our visitors. They were not exactly intimidating but were also definitely not welcoming. I was unaware of any rules surrounding visitors to the site as we received no information of any description on arrival ( no map, no local info, no site info etc and the reception was never staffed).
Would definitely not return.

Disappointing experience in motor home

A good welcoming place to stay. Good value and great breakfasts. Rooms nicely done out. Mixture of bed and breakfast and caravans,  met our needs for a one night stay. Plenty of car parking spaces. We had a room with good views of the sea. All the people we saw seemed friendly and we got the impression it gets a lot of repeat business. ,

Good comfortable place to stay.

Stayed here for 3 days camping while climbing at Holyhead Mountain and so glad that we booked here.
The staff are friendly and went out of their way to help us, the location is amazing with views to die for, clean loos n showers, and good value to boot.....what more could you want!!!

Superb Stay!!!

Had a lovely 3 night stay at Blackthorn Farm, Travelling with a friend with 5 dogs over two rooms. 
The BnB was clean and staff were friendly, breakfast offered a good choice and quality - I would highly recommend the guacamole on sourdough with poached eggs.
The toast is beautiful proper bread too.

Great stay

Stayed in the B&B for 3 nights, 4 adults, 3 children, 2 dogs. We couldn’t have chosen a nicer place. Rooms were clean and comfortable, plenty of piping hot water, generous supply of tea, coffee etc. The owners and staff were very friendly, nothing was too much trouble, even allowing us use of crockery and cutlery for a take-away meal. Breakfast was superb, plentiful and nicely cooked. We had a very early start one morning and they very kindly left ‘take-away’ breakfasts for us. Dogs were made welcome, with dog beds, towels and food bowls provided. 
A good base for visiting Anglesey, Porth  Dafarch beach nearby and not far from Treaddur Bay and South Stack lighthouse. 
I would highly recommend Blackthorn Farm and will definitely be going back.

Great location, comfortable rooms, lovely food.

We stayed in the B&B for 4 nights and used it as a base to explore Anglesey and North Wales.  Our stay was lovely, peaceful and comfortable.  The breakfasts are lovely with a good choice of good quality foods.  There is a fridge and microwave in the breakfast room which can be used by guests - I think it would be helpful if there was a note in the room mentioning that and also giving the time for breakfast.  When we were there at the end of July they were still operating with reduced staffing - reception not open etc so it was difficult to know where to go and details like what time breakfast is were unknown.

Wheelchair accessibility
There is an adapted room downstairs which we used, it has its own door.  Parking directly outside although this is on gravel which is quite deep in places.  The adapted room has been carefully thought about with some good features and quite a bit of space.  I struggled in the bathroom due to the layout with the door / toilet / towel rail but not impossible with my small manual chair.  They generally have a perching stool for the shower but were very happy to provide a patio chair instead and there was plenty of room at the shower end.
